Okpoma -Yala, is in a remote area, known for its vast development in tourism and possessing a rich natural resources such as salt ponds (mined locally). However, the town's power infrastructure had struggled to keep up with the growing demands of its inhabitants.

They had become experts in improvisation, always keeping candles, flashlights, and backup generators at the ready.
