Begin Again Chapter 5 Plan B
Eden had a suspiciously long nap during the thirty-minute drive from Willow Hills to her apartment in Forrest Creek, an artsy neighbourhood in the east of Rock Castle, jerking awake when the car skidded as they hit a pothole on the road.
She yawned and stretched as she looked outside her window, feeling oddly embarrassed for passing out on her Uber driver. The last thing she remembered was him asking her if the air conditioning in the car was okay.
She couldn't decide if she was brave or just plain stupid for falling asleep in the back of a stranger's car, especially when she was dressed in nothing but a man's shirt and her coat.
She shifted in her seat and crossed her legs demurely, praying she hadn't inadvertently opened them while she slept. Going commando wasn't as liberating as she thought it would be. She felt vulnerable and well, naked.
Now that she had time to put some distance between her and last night's terrible decisions, she had to figure out the mystery surrounding her missing underwear. It wasn't in her trench as she'd expected, and it was most definitely not in Liam's room when she left.
Did he hide it from her on purpose, was he a weirdo who stole women's underwear and kept them as memorabilia to eternalise all his conquests?
The longer she thought about it, the more convinced Eden was that the massive walk-in closet she'd noticed to the left of Liam's room, next to the frosted glass door she'd assumed led to his ensuite, was filled with thousands of women's panties in all shapes, colours and sizes.
Just how many had he collected over the years? And of all the perverts at Crush what had possessed her to choose him?
"Gosh!" She moaned in her hands, her brown hair cascading in waves around her face.
"Are you okay?" Jude asked, his eyes boring holes into her through the rearview mirror.
Begin Again Chapter 6 Supernatural
Eden circled back to her apartment and unlocked the fourth-floor unit she shared with her friends. She took off her shoes and snuck inside quietly, careful not to bang the door in case she woke everyone up.
But when she turned around and found three pairs of eyes, shining with anticipation, her plan of making a quiet entrance went up in smoke.
"Hi guys," Eden grimaced, her face as red as the angry birds T-shirt Sienna wore over her grey pyjama pants.
"It smells like a walk of shame in here," Lydia sniffed the air dramatically, and the other two broke into peals of laughter.
"Tsk tsk," Sienna clucked her tongue disapprovingly. "So much for saving yourself for marriage!"
"We've revoked your sainthood," Cassandra chimed in as she took the muffin box from her, scowling when she peeked inside. She hated any store-bought goodies because she knew she could do a way better job. But today her disappointment, as she loudly made it known, was not with the muffins.
"Really, with all the bazillions in his bank accounts, he sent you off with only ten muffins? What happened to diamonds being a girl's best friend? Who is this guy?" She threw her hands up dramatically, shoved the box in Sienna's hands and vanished beyond the entryway.
"You, Missy, have some explaining to do!" Lydia grabbed Eden's hand and dragged her to the living room where Cassandra sat on the grey L-shaped couch poring over a newly published cookbook by a has-been reality TV star, her knees tucked to her chin.
Begin Again Chapter 8 Summoned
As Liam cruised through the quiet, jacaranda tree-lined streets of Glen Eagles, an affluent suburb north of Rock Castle, it wasn't the meeting with his father that occupied his thoughts. He was still fuming over Eden, bewildered that she had the nerve to leave him.
It would have been comical if it wasn't so mortifying.
He stopped outside the massive, black iron-wrought gate in front of a sprawling mansion on the cul de sac, rolled down his window and jabbed at the intercom irritably.
He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel impatiently to the beat of the fast-paced dance tune shaking the metal walls of his Ferrari as he waited for one of several housekeepers and butlers to buzz him in. The Lamborghini he drove last night was at the garage. He vaguely remembered Steven, his driver, mention something about it needing maintenance before he left.
Within seconds the gate squeaked inward, and Liam eased into a circular driveway surrounded by manicured lawns and immaculate gardens. His childhood home was as vibrant now in the winter months as it was at the height of summer. The army of landscapers that came in twice a week made sure of it. With her love of plants, it was the one thing his Mom, insisted on. Too bad she didn't have a green thumb; otherwise she'd do everything herself.
Richard stood tall and proud in his butler's uniform as he waited at the front door to welcome him home.
"Master Anderson," the head butler beamed as he gave Liam a bear hug and grasped his hand in a firm handshake. Richard was always an affectionate man but had become more sentimental as the grey hairs on his head multiplied.
Begin Again Chapter 9 Destiny
With several bookshelves and thousands of books lining the wood-panelled walls and the dark furnishings reminiscent of a centuries-old gentleman's club, his father's study was probably the most intense room in the house. But, it was also one of Liam's favourite places.
He remembered all the rare times he, Willow and Holly had spent in here, crowded on the floor while they read or played with their toys, happy to have their father home and wanting to be as close to him as possible because they never knew when they'll see him again. Clarke was always out of town, out of the country, chasing one big fish of a client after another. He missed so many important days. Probably why most had ended up as snapshots lined up on the fireplace.
Liam and his sisters never resented him, though. When Clarke was present, he was the best father in the world, and when he wasn't, he spoiled them rotten with insane gifts flown from all over the world to make up for his absence.
"Thank you for gracing me with your presence, Son," Clarke's wry drawl pulled Liam out of his thoughts.
His father turned off his MacBook and left his place behind the desk.
"Hi sweetheart," he murmured as he sat beside Lois and kissed her cheek. "Are you okay?"
Lois smiled, blushing prettily like a schoolgirl on her first date as they held hands.
Liam watched them wistfully and sighed. They always made him feel like a third wheel. Most of his friends' parents were divorced, he knew how lucky he was to have parents who were still in love today, as they were when they tied the knot over thirty years ago. Their commitment to each other was inspiring, and he prayed he finds something just as enduring and meaningful.
Mrs Horowitz, the housekeeper, knocked once on the ajar door and came in with a smile and a tray loaded with their afternoon refreshments.

Chapter 1 Prelude
It was getting dark. In the western suburbs, the lights were on in only one room of the two-storied villa.
It had been three days since Shawn Yu had kept Windy Fu locked in the room.
"Please, stop!" she begged, drawing in labored breaths. She felt like she was dying. She never expected Shawn Yu to treat her like this. He raped her repeatedly not caring whether she lived or died.
Windy Fu pleaded with him to stop again and again for the sake of her child. If it hadn't been for her baby, she wouldn't have cared even if she died!
She was filled with pure hate for the man in front of her at this moment. But her pleas fell on deaf ears. Shawn Yu looked at her coldly.
"You deserve this! I warned you many times not to hurt your sister, but you still ignored me. Do you really think that I would just stand by and do nothing?" he said with an evil smile.

Chapter 1 The Resort
Chapter 1
The next day, he was here at the resort with Aling Martha and was sweeping up the scattered leaves and equipment that had been used last night at his son's wedding reception.
Even though he was busy sweeping, his mind was wandering about what happened last night. He never expected something like that to happen to him. It was the first scary thing he had ever experienced that someone would do that to him. He was very scared, but he was so relieved that someone saved him. A man who is very tall and very strong. He saw how it lifted the man so that those on the ground no longer glowed. He couldn't see her face or part of it because of the little light on the road. He wanted to, but because of the speed of the incident and fear, he immediately left and went home.
It's just frustrating because I didn't even understand what it said. He sighed. If only he had been able to continue his studies, he would have understood what the man who saved him said.
Hopefully, he will recognize it and appreciate it. I hope so.

Chapter 1 Apologize Or Divorce
"Ah!"
An ear-piercing scream shattered the peaceful atmosphere in the Kameron family villa.
It was Rena Kameron's 80th birthday party today, and the guests had gathered in the living room, chatting merrily. They now all turned alertly in the direction of the scream.
At the foot of the stairs, Cassidy Bradley was curled into a ball, writhing in pain. Her arms and legs were covered in bruises, which stood out against her flawless skin. She even had a busted lip, and blood dribbled down her chin.
Aghast and shocked, the crowd looked up the staircase, where a woman was standing at the top with an expressionless face.
Belinda Fletcher?
Immediately, the guests exchanged knowing looks. They could roughly guess what had happened.
They started to scold Belinda relentlessly. "You should've talked to Russell first instead of bullying this woman!"
"Indeed! A mature woman wouldn't resort to violence even when it comes to another woman. Rather, she should've learned to tame her husband!"

Chapter 1 NO.

Winter's P.O.V
I walk towards my locker and immediately frown when I see the one and only Gemma Hill standing against it, smirking at me like I am a pathetic excuse of a girl.
I ignore her and start to fiddle with my locker, opening it and starting to take my books out for my first class. I close my locker and as I turn around, I notice that Gemma has disappeared. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion but inside my head, I am fist bumping the air.
Is this the day Gemma Hill is done with the dare? Is she finally out of my life? I smile and spin around to walk to my first class but stop in my tracks when I see Gemma's group of friends standing behind the captain of the cheerleading squad, aka, Gemma.
"What do you want, Gemma?" I ask her, my smile gone now. She flicks her blonde hair over her shoulder and hands me an envelope.
"It's Monday remember?" Gemma smiles at me and I sigh, knowing that my daily routine is ruined, just like every other Monday.
I nod and she pats my head how a person pats their dog's head when it obeys it's owner... and that's what I am.

Chapter 1 Prologue 1
September 1821
“Beth. Bethany, wake up. It’s morning.” Eric whispered in her ear, shaking her up. She stirred and turned, shoving him away as she did. “Wake up woman, it’s your birthday.” He whispered again, successfully capturing her attention. Beth sat up and glared at her brother who was sitting on the edge of her bed.
The heat from the fireplace had reduced with the dead fire, but Eric held up a candle to her face, smiling sheepishly at her. His face would make anyone think that the survival of the world rested singularly on her birthday. She blinked and started to lie back down.
Eric pulled her legs to rouse her even more. “Stop it!” She whined. “What is it about my birthday that's making you so joyful?”
He placed his finger on his lips, then walked to the table and sat candle down. Whispering, he said. “Quiet down, unless you intend to wake Mother and Father.”
Beth pulled her blanket to her neck and whispered back. “I'm glad you realized that it is too early to be rudely interrupting other people’s sleep.” Then, “What do you want?” He got off her bed and yanked the covers. “Hey!” She protested.
“Quiet down!” He was still whispering.
“Why would you do that?” At the brink of tears, she lamented, hugging herself in her cotton night garment. “Why are you doing this to me? It’s cold. And it’s my birthday!”

Chapter 1 Back For Divorce
Scarlett's POV:
I checked the time again and sighed. It had been one and a half hours since I flew in, and I had lost count of the times I had glanced at my watch. My husband, Charles Moore, was nowhere to be found. He was supposed to pick me up from the airport. But he must be with his girlfriend right now. I shook my head and smiled bitterly at the thought, stood up, and dragged myself and my luggage out of the airport.
I married Charles three years ago. But shortly after our wedding, I received some good news from my dream university abroad. I was accepted to one of their programs, so I left to study there. Charles and I had not seen each other for three years. While I was away, he was spending all his time with the woman he truly loved.
Now, I was finally finished with my studies and I came back home. I wanted to end our nominal marriage. I decided it was time for me to stop hoping for things that would never happen.
On my way home in a cab, I sent Charles a message that read, "We need to talk."
Before long, I was standing inside our empty house. I set my luggage aside and headed to the living room. I sat on the sofa and waited. The house looked and smelled like no one had lived in it for years. Our wedding photo was still hanging on the wall. It offended and saddened me at the same time.

Chapter 1 Meeting friends
They met in the University during a class, a few weeks before their matriculation, yet it seems like they have known each other for years. They were studying the same course - English and Literature and were in their first year with everything still looking a bit strange to them. The three friends - Anne, Josephine, and Naomi were very different individuals with some similarities. While Anne and Naomi were both from Edo State, Josephine was from Delta State. Both Anne and Josephine were Catholics while Naomi attended a Pentecostal church.
They had gathered for a class at a one-thousand-capacity lecture theatre(LT) and after waiting for close to one hour, it became obvious that the class would not hold. The moment the class rep announced that the class had been canceled, the hall became momentarily rowdy as the majority of the students were going out of the hall at the same time.
"I'm going back to the hostel" Naomi announced, standing up from where she sat.
When she received no response from either Anne or Josephine who were engrossed in their phone, she became pissed and left.
The hall was almost empty when the two friends decided to go home.
