Pearl sat on the single chair, with her face on the television. She has been changing from one channel to another.
“Why is everything boring? ” She uttered with a frustrating voice.
“Not even something entertaining. ” She scoffed as she mumbled the words. Suddenly, a news story, more like a short news story, pops up on the television screen.
“Hello everyone, this is CBN News, as usual AW LTD, the CEO of AW Group, will be having an interview with us this evening around 5 p.m. , hope you all stay tuned and also, don't forget it's your favorite celebrity #number one billionaire in this country and World Wide, Ace Warren. “Arrrggghhh.. Rubbish and ingredients. ” Pearl scoffed and stood up to get a bowl of strawberries. She walked back and sat down. She was currently enjoying the comic when the TV suddenly went off.
“What the hell? I was enjoying that. ” She yelled and Ella scoffed.
“Enjoying what.. Ella scoffed while pearls pouted.
“At least, it will ease my thoughts, you like the way I will just sit down and stare into space. ” Now she's close to tears.
“Oh my bad... Ella took a deep breath and ran her fix hails through her blonde hair...”
“Do you think I'm happy sitting here? Sitting here all day. Just to watch a useless movie and news. I became a liability just because I have no job. ” Pearl burst into tears.
“Pearl---
“Don't pearl my name, don't Pearl me. The rich keep getting richer, the poor keep getting poorer and the average is stagnant. Can't you see?? ” She lashed out furiously.
“I'm sorry Pearl. I'm sorry for making you voice out like this. I'm sorry.. Ella uttered with watery eyes as she tried to console her best friend.
“Do you think I'm happy with this? My certificates and everything is just a waste. Why are these male bosses always running after hopeless people like us? You want a job they will say but will offer sex in exchange, without checking my CV... ” Pearl burst into uncontrollable tears as she took a seat on the chair.
“Everything will be fine. At least I'm not complaining, what are friends for. To support each other, right---”
“But not a liability. Pearl replied and rolled her eyes.
“Did I ever complain? ” Ella asked and she shook her head.
“Then stop thinking about these things. It will be fine, you will get a better job soon. Just have faith in Pearl. ” Ella uttered and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“I love you Ella... ” Pearl sniffed in through her nose while Ella rubbed her back gently. Pearl's phone chimed on the table and she rushed to check if it's probably an email from a company she applied for.
“Any response.. ” Ella asked and she shook her head in disappointment.
“It's close, they said I didn't meet up with their credentials. ” Pearl uttered, feeling sad.
“Come here baby. '' Ella opened her arms in embrace for Pearl to get in. Pearl wrapped her arms around Ella's neck, she tried to push back the tears but she couldn't.
“You are better than the chosen ones. You are better than me, don't let the rejections wash away the potential in you. You reject those rejections to build the potential in you, rejections doesn't mean you are a loser, you aren't up for it, but it's indicating, you can do better, you are the best. REJECTIONS MAKE PROGRESS... FIGHT, DETERMINATION, PATIENCE AND ENDURANCE.. Better Offer is out there, go and claim it girl. ” Ella uttered fiercely.
Her words made Pearl emotional and teary.
“Thank you Ella. ” Pearl rushed into her arms.
“You are always welcome, you have me, Pearl. Ella uttered and pecked her cheeks.
“Seat and have enough strawberries with a comedy to watch. ” Ella uttered and she laughed.

Mia walked out of the kitchen with her bowl of cereal, her personal maid having been pleading to her.
“How many times have I explained to you not to talk beside me? ” she yelled and poured the cereal on the young lady.
“That was rude Mia... ” Mr Ace said as he descended the stairs.
“I told her, I don't want to see her. Just because I lashed out my anger on her doesn't mean she should spit in my cereal. ” Mia uttered and crossed her arms on her chest.
“You did that??? ” Mr Ace asked with a shocked expression on his face.
“I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean t---”
“I will have your head to the dogs if you say you didn't mean to. I saw you spitting in my cereal. You even say, What can she do? Too spoiled.. Didn't you say that. ” Mia yelled and hit her with the ceramic bowl on the head.
“Did you do that or not? ” Ace asked calmly and she nodded with tears streaming down her cheeks.
“You are fired... ” Ace uttered and with a call. Men rushed in to take the lady away.
“I can't believe she did such.. ” He stuttered and looked at his daughter.
“Are you fine? Did she hurt you? ” He asked worriedly.
“I'm fine dad but not fully fine, until you do something for me. ” Mia mumbled and her lips pouted together.
“I want that lady to be flogged. Twenty four strokes. ”
“Mia?? ” He called, looking shocked.
“What? You can't do it... ” She asked, staring at him.
“I can't, she's human, Mia. I don't know where you get all this rudeness from but I think you need to stop it. ” Ace uttered and signaled some maids to clear the dining table.
“Since you can't give me what I want, Can I at least have a new nanny? ”
“A new nanny. ”
“Yeap. ” She replied and he nodded.
