Chapter 1 A Poor Swamp Woman!

"Damn ... Stay away from me!" The brunette woman tried to avoid the man who was her ex-boyfriend.

That man was so obsessed with her.

"You'll forever be mine, Bitch! You're just a poor woman! I want to be with you, so you should be grateful! Because there are no men out there who want to be with a poor bitch like you!" Her ex-boyfriend tried to pull on the brunette's arm.

But with a bright idea, she punched him in the arm, making him whimper in pain.

"Damn it ... fuck you, Daisy!"

With all her might, the brunette, whose full name is Daisy Jones, ran out of the man's house.

She had had enough of being insulted and treated badly, so she had to take action this time.

The Joneses were a notoriously poor family in Bibury Town. No one wanted to set foot in that shabby house. To get to the residence, they had to use a boat due to the limited roads.

Therefore, there was a rich man in the area who wanted to make her, his girlfriend, Daisy was considered a foolish woman. For rejecting the rich man.

However, people did not know that all this time, Daisy had been treated badly by the arrogant rich man.

Arriving in front of her house, Daisy pulled the boat ashore. As she was about to go inside, she heard her mother screaming and crying.

Over and over, this horrible thing happened. Her mother was being abused by her father. Being slapped and beaten was a daily occurrence.

"Stop, Daddy, don't do that to her again!" Daisy screamed, her body trembling as her father brought a knife.

"Mom, get out of here!" she ordered as she feared her mother would be stabbed by her father.

Her father was always on drugs and an alcoholic, which made his temper even more unstable. If his mother didn't have any money, she would become his outlet.

"You're also a very stupid woman! You shouldn't have wasted Felix!" This time, the father's eyes were on Daisy.

"Do you know how much I owe Felix's family? And now, his family is asking me to repay that debt immediately because you've let their son down!" her father shouted so loudly that it made Daisy's heart race.

"Now hurry up, apologize to Felix, and tell him that you're going to stay with him!" Her father pulled Daisy's arm very tightly. Forcing her to leave the house and beg Felix.

"No! I don't want to be treated badly by that man again! I have a right to myself! As for your debt to his family, it's not my fault at all! But you're the one who likes to gamble and create more debt!"

Daisy was desperate to gather her courage. She was fed up of being ordered around and belittled. As if she had no right to her life.

"Damn it. Daughter and mother are both bitches!" Her father walked up to Daisy and her mother, a sharp knife ready to be pointed at both of them.

"Mom, get out of here!" Daisy yelled.

"What about you, Daisy? You have to come too–"

"Hurry up, Mom! Please!"

Forced to, her mother quickly left the house which had always been a silent witness to her husband's abuse.

She ran out of the house, boarded the boat, and started the engine.

Daisy's panicked father saw that his wife was gone. He ran to catch up with his wife.

However, Daisy pulled her father's arm. "Please dont, Dad! Let mom live happily out there!" she pleaded, crying.

Now the knife in her father's hand fell because Daisy managed to snatch it from his hand as he was about to walk out.

"Let go of me, damn it, your mom needs to stay here!" Her father kicked Daisy in the stomach, knocking the brunette woman to the floor.

She don't know what got into her father. He didn't want to let his wife go but he was treating her so badly.

"Mom, hurry up!" cried Daisy with teary eyes as she watched the boat carrying her mother slowly move away from the slum.

Meanwhile, her father had just started the boat's engine.

"Shit ... Damn it ... Why is everything so unfair to me?" Daisy was screaming like crazy.

She was only 20 years old and couldn't even save her mother. Because her life was like being trapped in this damn swamp!

But now, her mother had already left this house. So, there was no reason for Daisy to stay here.

"I have to go too!" Daisy stood up immediately. Feeling her stomach hurt from being kicked by her father.

She carried her bag and opened the closet. Putting her clothes in the bag.

She didn't know where she was going. The most important thing was to get out of this small town.

As she was putting her clothes away, she heard the sound of a boat engine stopping in front of her house.

Daisy's eyes immediately rounded perfectly, her heart beating irregularly at the sight of the person who had just arrived.

"Felix ... Shit! I have to hide!" Daisy grabbed her bag and walked through the back door to hide.

But before she could open the back door, Felix unfortunately found her.

"Daisy, Your father is dead! He was hit by a car."

Hearing this, Daisy walked over to Felix and shook her head.

"Don't lie to me, he's after my mom!" Daisy argued.

"I'm not lying. He got hit while chasing your mom."

"So, what about my mom?"

"Your mom already left in a taxi."

At first, Daisy still didn't believe it. Because this information was so sudden.

However, when she saw the boat stop again. Two old men were carrying her father's lifeless body.

"Oh no! Dad!"

Daisy ran over to her father and sure enough, he was dead.

"We're so sorry, Daisy. By the time we called your mom she had already left in a taxi.

What would Daisy's life be like now? If she was desperate to leave this damn swamp, who would fill her hut house?

***

"Honey, no matter how much I love you ...."

That afternoon, a wealthy couple from London was on their way to Bibury to conduct business there.

"I'm an imperfect woman. I can't get pregnant."

Throughout the journey, the 32-year-old woman could only grieve. She was so sad because she saw her friend who had just given birth.

Meanwhile, her five-year marriage had not yet been blessed with a child. Because, last year she had just removed her uterus because of her illness.

"I don't care, I don't have any offspring either–"

"We have to have a child, Dylan! Please don't keep denying it! We have to have offspring, in part to carry on your family's lineage!"

It was painful, but the 35-year-old didn't want to let his wife drown in sorrow.

Dylan Hastings was the only son of the Hastings family. One of the conglomerate families in the UK.

Everyone has always respected the Hastings family. Because, apart from being known as businessmen, the Hastings family has always eradicated criminals in this country.

Those who committed money laundering, drug trafficking, murder, harassment, and several other crimes, would be arrested and imprisoned in the scariest room in UK.

"Aren't you tired, of reading the news about our marriage? About me not being able to give you children–"

"Emily, stop it! I don't care what people say. All I care about is you! Your health!"

Dylan loved his wife very much even though he was honestly sad that he could not have children because his wife's uterus had been removed.

"What if we find a surrogate mother?"

That afternoon, Dylan drove. Because Emily asked him to. Because he didn't want their conversation in the car to be overheard by his driver. Just for this one time.

Instantly, hearing his wife's nonsensical words, Dylan braked the car suddenly.

"Emily ... Tomorrow we go to Norway. We need to freshen up!"

Yeah, he thought his wife had a lot on her mind. So what she needed was a refresher.

"Please, I'm serious, Dylan ... There must be a woman out there willing to be a surrogate mother. A woman who has no power lives in poverty. We can make a deal with her...," she whispered with teary eyes. Because she honestly didn't want to give this idea a chance.

Dylan shook his head and drove back to his car.

"Don't be selfish, we need a successor to the Hastings family. Your parents only have you. So they have high hopes–"

"We've both talked about this before. So, please shut your mouth, if you want to talk nonsense."

At the same time, Dylan parked his car, right at a sizable house. She was Dylan's coworker.

"Emily, I don't want us to repeat this, okay?" Dylan pulled Emily's arm closer to him.

Then, he gave his wife a quick peck on the lips.

"I love you, Emily. You should know that."

After that, they both got out of the car. However, having just entered the house, they were both surprised by an argument between a man and a woman in the yard.

"Let go of me, damn it! I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore! I'll pay all my father's debts!"

"Oh, can you afford it? Your father owes 50,000 dollars. If you can pay it now, I'll gladly accept it!"

"Hurry, I want to be paid now! My family lost because of your father's stupidity!"

The curly-haired man pulled the brunette woman's arm. And he forced her to kiss him.

"Felix, stop it!"

Yeah, those two were Daisy and Felix. That damn man took advantage of Daisy's father's death. He told people that he would be responsible for Daisy's life.

However, Daisy had had enough of him, she couldn't continue to be under the same roof with Felix or his family.

"Stop it!" shouted Emily, who watched in anguish as a helpless woman was abused.

Emily's footsteps walked over to the two of them. Hanry held Emily's arm to keep her from interfering.

This was because what he saw now was just a matter of young love.

"I have to help her! Let go of me!" Emily continued her steps. As for Dylan, he grumbled in annoyance.

Why did his wife have to waste time like this?

"Are you Leo's son?" asked Dylan who asked first.

Making Felix who knew Dylan immediately bow his head.

"Mr. Hastings."

"Why do you treat her like that?" asked Dylan.

"She -- She's a stupid woman, Mr. Hastings. I tried to stay with her because she was poor and her late father owed our family a lot of money. But she chose to leave here. She doesn't know herself!" explains Felix, who feels self-righteous about his treatment of Daisy.

"I will pay off all my father's debts!" Daisy replied, not to be outdone.

"How can you? You're just a swamp girl! No one wants to hire you! Everyone looks down on your family!"

Felix's words pierced Daisy's heart. Even if Felix's words were true, she couldn't look weak anymore!

"So, what about you, damn it? You are just living in the shadow of your father! You're just a stupid, arrogant man with no attitude!" she swore in an angry tone.

Meanwhile, Emily said, "Honey, I want to talk to you." Emily invited Dylan to walk away from the two of them.

And Dylan followed where his wife went.

"What's the matter, Honey? I've been following your wishes, defending that woman–"

"I think she's the right woman!" Emily cut Dylan off.

"What do you mean?"

"She's the right woman to produce Hastings' successor. With no title and no debt, she's the woman we're looking for!"

Then, how would Dylan answer her? Will he reject her or follow his wife's wishes?
