Celine and Elena had always been more than just sisters they were best friends, each other's safe place. Growing up, they faced their fair share of struggles. Their parents weren't wealthy, but they made sure their daughters had everything they needed before they passed away. Celine, being the older sister, took on responsibilities beyond her years. She often shielded Elena from the harsh realities of life, whether it was skipping meals so her little sister could eat or staying up late to help her with homework.
Elena, on the other hand, idolized Celine. No matter how tough things got, she always felt safe knowing her sister was by her side. Whenever life tried to break them, they held on to each other, promising that one day, they would rise above their struggles.
As they grew older, Celine worked tirelessly to secure a better future for them. She excelled in school, determined to build a life where neither she nor Elena would ever have to struggle again. Her dedication paid off when she met Mark in high school. He was kind, ambitious, and deeply in love with her. Together, they not only built a beautiful relationship but also created a thriving business from scratch.
Celine and Elena shared everything their joys, their fears, their little secrets that no one else could ever understand. Their bond was unbreakable, built on trust, mischief, and a love so natural it felt like breathing. They whispered secrets late at night under the covers, pinky swearing never to tell. Sometimes, one would break a promise, not out of malice but because secrets were heavy, and trust could be fragile. And when it happened, it stun like a tiny crack in glass. But no matter how much it bothered them, they always found their way back to each other because nothing felt right without their sister by their side.
"Stop running!" Celine shouted, chasing after Elena with all her might, her breath coming in short gasps. She finally caught up, lifting her little sister off the ground and launching a tickle attack.
"Who's got the long legs now?" she teased, pulling silly faces while Elena burst into uncontrollable giggles.
"Sis, that's not fair!" Elena pouted. "You didn't give me enough time to run farther!"
Celine smirked, ruffling Elena's hair. "Look, let's go make dinner together
Hand in hand, they walked towards the kitchen to make dinner for themselves. Their age and personalities does not have anything to do with their playful nature.
It was getting late, and the room was cloaked in darkness. Elena sat curled up in a blanket, alone with her thoughts, when Celine walked in.
"Hey, baby sis," she greeted softly. "What's up with you?"
She took a step closer and hesitated. "Wait... Elena, are you crying?" She quickly switched on the light, her eyes widening in concern.
"What on earth could make my sister cry like this?" Celine gasped. "Wait... Do you want chocolate?"
"No, Cely," Elena murmured.
Celine frowned. "Are you having cramps? But it's not even time for your period. Or...?"
Elena cut her off. "No, sis."
"Then what is it?" Celine asked, her full attention now on her sister.
Elena swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's Eugene, sis."
Celine's expression darkened instantly. "That rascal! I should have known." She reached for her phone. "Where's my phone? I need to give him the talk of his life. Why would he make my little baby cry?" she fumed.
"No, Cely, let him be," Elena said weakly. "There's no point."
She took a shaky breath before continuing. "Ruby called me earlier today and told me she saw my boyfriend shopping with another girl. Meanwhile, he told me he was out of town. I thought she was lying-until she sent me a picture she took of them together... hugging."
Celine clenched her jaw as Elena continued.
"I called him to confront him, but he lied straight to my face. When I showed him the picture, he lashed out at me, accused me of spying on him, and said I was monitoring his every move. Then he said... if I can't handle him having another girl, I should just get out.
Elena broke down, tears streaming down her face. "Sis... he's cheating on me," she sobbed.
