Spoiled but independent, Sereia Philomena Isolde can't deny it. Kaya naman hindi sya papaawat kay Phoenix Mason Hill, heir to the successful Hill Corp, nang malamang nasa pangalan ng lalaki ang lupaing kanya dapat. So, all there's left to do is come and "negotiate" him about the terms. She wants to change his mind, he wants to change her heart. Pataasan sila ng pride. Prepare to venture into a journey filled with mud, soil and fertilizer as they explore the beauty of nature in a simple life in the province area (with the simple life of the farmers in the Philippines). Awayan, bangayan, tampuhan, iyakan, at siyempre, pagmamahalan.
I was always the patient one. But not now when my blood is boiling and my temper is running out. And speaking to my grandpa is not helping at all.
"Apo, pinabili ko lang naman kasi.."
"But you didn't tell me before that." I gritted my teeth. I was fuming mad, so mad. I bit my lip and breathed deeply to control myself.
To control my temper. I love lolo and I don't want to leave hurtful words to him. Just because I'm mad doesn't mean I have to disrespect him.
"Lolo, you know how much I love that land. At ganun ganun lang? Pinabili mo lang sa iba?"
"Hindi naman ganoon apo. I also love it from the bottom of my heart pero kailangan natin ang pera panggamot sa lola mo."
I have a job, and I have savings lolo."
I said before leaving him.
Dad had agreed to this. Also mom. But I was against it. I had plans for this land.
I sighed. I know what I did was disrespectful. Pero hindi ako makapagpigil. I need to find a solution to this.
"Apo."
She was weak. But she smiled. "Pagpasensyahan mo na ang lolo mo." Sabi nya pa.
Tumango ako. "Pahinga ka nalang lola."
"Sige, ingat."
"Mom?" I called out.
"Anak?"
"Sasama ako sayo."
"I knew you would. O sya sige.
"Okay, mom"
I went to my room to prepare. I slept after that.
When morning came, para sunduin ako at sabay kaming pupunta sa bukid.
"Aalis na tayo?"
"No, anak.
I sighed. "Fine."
"Sigurado ka ba sa desisyon mo anak?"
"Opo, mommy."
Bumuntong hininga nalang sya.
"Anak, sana maintindihan mo ang lolo mo."
"Mom, we talked about this already."
"Sige, ingat ka sa byahe. Mag-text ka kapag nakarating kana."
I took a taxi to reach the bus terminal.
Once I was in the bus, I took a small nap.
When I woke up, I was groggy. Alerto akong tumingin sa paligid. Thank God. Hindi pa nalalagpasan ang destinasyon ko.
"Oh gensan." Ani ng driver. I fixed myself before standing up and exit. I took a tricycle to reach the place and took a single motor papasok sa kanto. I looked around as the wind blew my hair. I inhaled.
I spotted a mansion. Our mansion.
"Diri ra manong." I said to the driver in bisaya dialect and handed him the payment. Dito lang manong.
He stopped the motor and I hopped off before he drive away.
I look at my wristwatch. So I came here first than mom...I texted her saying na nakarating na ako para naman di sya mag worry.
My eyes scanned around to look for a person. I took a deep breath and aprroached the person.
I cleared my throat. "Manong? Asa ang tag iya ng balay?" Manong?
"Ahm...hello?" I said when he was just staring at me.
He seemed to wake up as he removed his cap and I was shocked to see that he is not that old. At tinawag ko pa tong manong...nakakahiya.
He looked like he was the same age as me or maybe older and he crossed his arms in front of him, raising his eyebrows.
"Manong? Parehas ra tang edad maam. At sa akoang kapogian gitawag mo kong manong?" He chuckled. Manong? Pareho lang tayo ng edad maam. At sa kagwapuhang kong to tinawag mo akong manong?
"Oh...sorry.
I offered a polite smile.
