Evelyn is an omega, the lowest rank among the werewolves. The girl had to seek refuge in the woods at the age of ten after a group of hunters killed her father. With powerful enemies from her past chasing her day and night, Evelyn was on the brink of losing hope. That's when he found her. Keiran Winter, the Alpha of one of the most powerful Packs in the world, despised the weak with a passion. So when he found out his mate was the weakest human he had ever seen, it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for him. Keiran wanted nothing to do with her, but to the omega he was everything.

Female (Evelyn): Evelyn, an omega werewolf and the lowest rank in the hierarchy, faced devastating loss at a young age when her father was killed by hunters, forcing her to flee and seek refuge in the woods. Hunted relentlessly by dangerous adversaries from her past, Evelyn struggled on the edge of despair until she encounters Keiran Winter, the Alpha of a dominant Pack. Despite being the strongest in the werewolf world, Keiran initially holds contempt for weakness but finds himself linked to Evelyn as his mate, who embodies vulnerability he detests. While Keiran rejects any involvement with her, Evelyn perceives him as her everything, setting the stage for a challenging dynamic between them.

Male (Keiran Winter): Keiran Winter features as the formidable Alpha of a renowned werewolf Pack, renowned for despising weakness within his ranks. Upon discovering Evelyn as his mate, an omega werewolf representing the epitome of fragility, Keiran is conflicted and resistant towards their union, confronting his disdain for what she embodies. Despite his initial reluctance and aversion, Keiran's presence holds immense significance for Evelyn, who views him as her essential counterpart in a compelling narrative underscoring the complexities of their relationship as mismatched mates.
The Unwanted Mate Chapter 2 Meeting Him
Evelyn took the basket before setting off to search for some fruits and herbs. She had to collect and sell them in the nearby village market to buy clothes and other necessities.
Though the forest provided her food and water, it couldn't give her blankets and shoes. She needed money. Earning wasn't difficult business, though. Evelyn knew where all the rare herbs grew. She could even cultivate them if she wanted. Perks of living in the forest, she supposed.
The herbs were costly around this time of the year because winter was approaching. She could use the extra money to buy a new blanket. Her old one was torn.
Should she stay in the treehouse until winter blew over? Perhaps not. It was best to move out when she had enough money and supplies. Finding a place to stay before winter comes may prove to be a troublesome task. She didn't have any time to waste.

It's been two days since Evelyn left the treehouse. So far, she has had no luck. The cold was bothering her now. It would be dangerous if she caught a cold somehow.
The bag containing all her worldly belongings was getting heavier and heavier with each step. Evelyn wanted to give up. Why was she still holding on?
Always running. Always hiding. Always living in fear. What was the point of living like this?
The Unwanted Mate Chapter 3 The Shadow Pack
The man stared at her, a distasteful look on his face. Evelyn wanted to crawl into a hole. It was obvious her mate wasn't happy with her.
She didn't blame him. How could anyone be happy with a girl like her? She was weak and uneducated. Evelyn didn't even know how to defend herself.
Her mate was evidently the alpha of his Pack. Evelyn knew how important the role of alpha and luna was to a Pack, how could she ever qualify for the responsibility?
"Take her to the pack doctor," the Alpha commanded, his face void of any emotion. Evelyn didn't dare make eye contact with him. Somehow, she knew in her heart he didn't want her looking at him directly.
Her mate then stalked out of the cabin, not even bothering to give the girl a second glance. Evelyn stared at her other half as he left, his scent disappearing with him.
Her head hung low, unable to hold back the tears in her eyes. But she didn't want to cry in front of strangers.
"Hey." The curly-haired man scratched the back of his neck. He didn't know how to handle a crying omega. "Um... You need to come with us. Don't worry, we won't hurt you." His voice was gentle.
Evelyn didn't know what to say. She had to stay with her mate. Staying apart from one's mate can cause serious physical and mental issues for both of them. But hurting her mate was the last thing she wanted.
The omega wiped her tears, trying to give the man a small smile as she stood up. Her legs were still shaking from the not-so-pleasant encounter with her mate. She sighed, collecting her bag from the floor.
The Unwanted Mate Chapter 4 A Dissatisfied Alpha
Hesitantly, Evelyn stood in front of the door, not knowing what to do. She was afraid of what her mate would say. She had lost all hope of being accepted by him.
What if he didn't like her? What if he was already married?
What if he rejects her?
Worry and alarms shot through Evelyn's veins. She bunched the fabric of her sweater tightly in her hands. It took her a few minutes of breathing in and out slowly to help her muster up the courage to proceed.
Taking one last deep breath, Evelyn slowly raised her hand to knock.
"Come in." A deep voice came from inside the room, making her hand pause in mid-air. The omega gasped and stepped back. How on earth did he know she was outside his door?
In truth, the alpha had smelled the presence of the girl the second she came into his proximity, an alluring scent of jasmine too strong to ignore. He was waiting for the omega to knock, but spoke up when he lost his patience.
Evelyn opened the door cautiously before peeking inside. The scent of her mate hit the omega like a wave. She inhaled deeply, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the comfort it gave her.
The alpha cleared his throat, and Evelyn snapped back into reality. She stared at the man sitting on his office chair, who was looking back at her with intensely blue eyes.
He wore a black T-shirt and blue jeans, his muscles straining under the thin fabric as he crossed his arms. Alphas were naturally strong and muscular. Having a domineering aura was expected of an Alpha, to be able to stand out from other ranks. However, Evelyn could sense there was something different about the man in front of her. He was commanding, sure, but there was also a dangerous presence surrounding him. It wouldn't be wise to mess with him.
The Unwanted Mate Chapter 5 Amelia And Rain
"Evelyn, are you alright?" Amelia's worried voice made the omega snap out of her thoughts. She was staring mindlessly out the window when Amelia entered her room.
"You seemed to be in deep thoughts," the tan-skinned doctor commented, simultaneous amusement and concern slipping through her voice.
"I... It was nothing..." Evelyn picked at a hangnail, her face burning a bit as she ducked down. She still felt a little awkward talking to people, no matter how much Amelia did to make her feel comfortable.
Evelyn couldn't see this place as her home, no matter how much she tried to. She would never feel warmth in this place for as long as her mate didn't accept her…
"How's your fever?" Amelia asked. Her hand was immediately on Evelyn's forehead to check her temperature.
Evelyn's face burned even hotter. She wasn't used to people coming so close to her and touching her so gently. Especially not people as beautiful as Amelia.
"It's okay, I think. I feel a lot better now," she replied, her voice low.
Amelia nodded briskly. "You should still drink herbal tea, though. It's good for your health." She smiled fondly at the omega.
Evelyn was about to respond when she glimpsed a fluffy blonde head peeking at her from the door. She leaned over and looked past Amelia to get a better view, but the person had disappeared from sight.
The scent of roses filled the air, a refreshing aroma. It must be another omega.
Amelia was watching Evelyn with amusement on her face. But when the scent of roses reached her, she let out a snort and rolled her eyes. She knew exactly who it was.
The Unwanted Mate Chapter 6 Winter Garden
"How does it taste, Luna?" One of the omega maids asked as Evelyn tasted the soup.
"It's really good," Evelyn smiled. "Also, you can call me Evelyn. I'm not the Luna." She stared down at her bowl. It felt awkward to her, being called Luna. Being called something she wasn't.
"But you will be!" The maid chirped. "Soon." She winked at Evelyn before leaving to take care of her chores.
Practically, every omega in the Pack was excited about Evelyn becoming the next Luna. No omega has ever taken over a position with such great reverence and responsibility. It was natural for them to believe they finally had someone who understood them to represent them.
Evelyn sighed. She couldn't tell the omegas how complicated her relationship was with the Alpha. Her heart grew heavy because she was giving them false hopes about an impossible dream.
"Luna! Good morning!" A high-pitched voice made Evelyn turn around. It was the blonde omega from yesterday.
"Good morning, Rain." She couldn't help but smile back at the boy. He really had an infectious smile.
Rain tugged on Evelyn's sleeves. "Could you come with me? I have something to show you."
"What is it?" She asked, curious what the omega was so excited about this morning.
"It's a surprise, come on." Rain giggled as he dragged Evelyn with him.
Soon they were out of the pack-house and walking towards the back. The number of trees increased as they walked. After a few minutes, they reached their destination. Evelyn gasped.
