Cassy, Awakening Power

The woman dressed all in white finished speaking so suddenly that it made the silence that followed awkward, until she came to rest gently on the marble ground. Every time she saw what was to occur, she floated around the room. As disconcerting as she found it, she had accepted it over the years, but others still found it shocking. The five people sat around her waiting silently. Seated in a large open room with all the furniture pushed back against one wall. There was space for whatever they needed to do. This was the way they had held meetings here for so long that no-one asked questions why, even though there were so few of them. The coven had owned this house for longer than any of them remembered. They had a new task now. Find the child. Where should they look? Nothing was said about where the child would be found.

Samantha broke the silence. "We have to hurry. Time is short. The girl may be swayed to either side." She looked at all the surrounding faces. "Go, search. Speak with your members. Someone must know of this child. Bring me every girl of 16 if you must. We have little time."
