You May Kiss The Groom Chapter 1 1

The rain dropped down on the black umbrellas, everyone was in daze ,standing like statues, still filled with disbelief and shock. There was no sign of life left around them as they stared at the gravestone with "Eryna Serene" inscribed on it.

Micah was kneeling beside her grave, clenching on to the freshly poured mud,,The rain poured mercilessly on him, he was soaked wet, his tears were one with the rain, but he didn't care as he had just lost his whole world to the soil underneath his feet.

Walking away from the heartbreak and sorrow we begin a new journey, a journey that doesn't start here, it takes place in a world far far away from this one, With very similar face and very similar destiny. A world where they will write their fate once more.

Pearl Airport:

There was a huge crowd, media reporters were jumping over each other trampling over the people just to catch a glimpse of the country's most beloved bachelor!! Or should we say he was the country's most mysterious personality. Nobody knew much about him, only his name was known and sometimes they would get a whiff of his work.

Finally the moment came when from the private jet two men in black walked out followed by a woman with a slim figure walked out, she was wearing a white suit that hugged her body elegantly.

The men in black scanned the surrounding and jestured the reporters to back off. There was a sudden silence amongst the reporters and they obediently made way. When everything was perfect the woman spoke into her ear piece.

"It's all clear," her voice was honey like smooth, and the way they came out of her cherry red lips made them even more attractive.

And then the time came that everybody had been waiting for, the reporter fixed their camera on the door while the mikes were greeting the way. A man stepped out of the jet. He was wearing a double-breasted cream color blazer with a white turtleneck. His side swept black hair shadowed his black sunglasses. His eyes were not visible because of the sunglasses but one could feel the seriousness pour out of his attitude. He lightly fixed his wristwatch and glanced at the crowd with a very displeased gaze. He spoke lightly to the men that followed him.

"They are hurting my eyes-" that was all he said and the men behind him gave him an assuring nod before walking towards the crowd.

"Master, where are you staying?" His secretary that stood at his left asked in an obedient tone.

"Tell Mother I will stay at my own mansion," he said.

"As you wish Master. Your room will be prepared right away!" His secretary replied as he pulled out his phone from his pocket.

"Mr.Usero!! Mr.Usero! Please answer a quick question!! Did you seal the deal with an unknown company? Is there something special about them? You have never done something like that before?" As he walked some reporters ran back at him but his secretary stopped them from approaching him and blocked their path, but their questions were never-ending.

"Do I owe you something?" He asked.

"What?" One of the reporters asked.

"Master means who do you think you are to ask him about his matters, if you want to live peacefully stay out of his business," his secretary gave a detailed answer to the reporters and walked behind his Master.

He got into his Alpine Green Bentley Flying Spur elegantly not baiting an eye to the ladies fainting at the sight of him. As soon as he got into the back seat he took off his glasses revealing a pair of dark black eyes. His eyebrows weren't ceased nor he was angry but his expression couldn't be interpreted in any other way except for annoyance and disdain.

He rested his head on the headrest and closed his eyes, he breathed out tiredly.

He hadn't slept in days, because of the huge burden on his shoulders he rarely got a chance to rest.

They drove through the loud city traffic toward the quiet and peaceful site where one could see lush green grass as far as their eyes permitted. And not far away from the beauty there stood a mansion nothing less than a castle itself. The gates opened for them and the driver drove in. And finally the car stopped at the doorsteps of the mansion.

"Master Micah, We are here," His secretary Ryan spoke lightly when he saw Micah sleeping in the back seat, Micah was a very light sleeper so his eyes flashed open as soon as he heard him speak. A maid ran forwards and opened the door of the car for him, he stepped off the car and went straight inside.

The driver in the car finally took a deep breath.

"Were you holding your breath!?" Ryan asked with a shocked expression.

"It's a habit!" The driver grinned, " Who knows when Master find something annoying and breaks it into half," the driver spoke in a scared manner.

"Pfft- Well you couldn't have said it any better," Ryan chuckled,

Micah walked up the stairs ignoring every single person standing in his way, even the huge screen where he could be seen walking out of a building with a grumpy expression. The maids stared at him until he was out of sight and then looked back at the television screen where the news of Micah sealing the deal with international Diamond Dealers was in full swing. It wasn't the first time he had appeared in the screen, he was always a hot topic,

"It is said that The Chairman of Usero Inc has gotten a hold of a diamond mine. The sources say that~~

"Diamond Mine!! Did you hear that? Our Master-" a maid overreacted when she heard the news.

"Stop shouting!! If the Master hears you, you will be dead!" The other hushed her.

"Oh! How lovely it would be to die with his beautiful hands," Her expression was very perverted when she said that. "I wonder who will be the luck girl to marry our Master," she mumbled.

"I am sure she will be a filthy rich heiress or some princess." She replied.

And just then in a hotel room very far away from the mansion, in another country a girl gave out a very tired groan, she twisted and turned in her bed restlessly.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
