Fallen Rose Chapter 1 The Overseer

"Freesville high one of the most prestigious schools in Freesville county, unlike it's name nothing here is free.... In fact you must be richly endowed before you step your foot on it's grounds". Overseer paused to check around to see who is listening. "Oh... It's you again, are you still reading this? You must have thought that since am narrating that am probably the main character of this story, well am sorry to burst your bubble cause am not! In case you are wondering the main character is sitting next to you but you refuse to notice, after this promise me you will say hi".

Overseer disappears.

"Dude... Hi" Dewey waves at the a guy next to him, the latter responded awkwardly and walks away.

Greg taps his friend, "Why did you do that?"

"Do what?" Dewey ask feeling confused.

"Why did you say hi to that douche.... You made us seem uncool" Greg said as he took off his training gear.

"We were never cool before Greg, you know we just hang around the MILFs right" Greg glares at him. "Look you know the overseer"

"Yeah... The writer that secretly goes undercover to write about a particular school, what about it?"

Dewey excitedly climbs on the bench in the boy's locker room and shouts "The overseer is in Freesville high!" He said smiling but amongst everyone there nobody seem to care as Greg pulls his friend down.

"Dewey stop cramping my style, I am this close to joining the MILFs don't ruin it with your useless obsession over a person who doesn't know you, come on let's go get lunch" Greg pulls Dewey to the school cafeteria.

"Unlike public schools cafeteria which are always crowded and most people winds up in the toilet so that they could eat comfortably, this school cafeteria had it settings different the sitting arrangement wasn't classified as how you are like the nerds, jocks, geeks, rebels or cheerleaders.... They don't have that here rather you seat according to your level, the Platinum, diamond, gold, silver and bronze. I am yet to figure mine out, regardless special recognition goes to Dewey Finn of the eagles soccer team for recognizing my presence.... Your's truly, Overseer"

"Take a look Greg..... Overseer praised me" Greg begrudgingly look at Dewey's phone.

"Shoot! Overseer is here and was at the boy's locker room, that means the Overseer is a guy.... This is gold, if this gets out that we uncover who Overseer is.... Man we will be super popular and the MILFs will recognize us finally" Greg smile widens as he notice Levi from the MILFs approaching them. "Dude this is it! We are popular baby... Woo"

"Hey" Levi said, Greg brought out his hands to shake his but Levi eyed him "Move aside.... Hey Dewey come with me" Levi ignores Greg along with his handshake that is still hanging in the air.

Dewey followed him to the table called the platinum, a table that requires special people from high places, this particular table is what is defined as high society. On reaching the table everyone seated paid no attention to the guest Levi brought, it was clear that they were snobbish rich kids, the kind no one should mess with.

Mico who just stopped smooching the lead cheerleader had confusion written all over his face as the lead cheerleader pushes back for another kiss, even Levi took his seat and joined the conversation with the other guys in their corner Dewey on the other hand stood there like a fool.

"Baby.... Will you come over to my place tonight?" Breanna the head cheerleader whines.

"I've got some business with the guys tonight, maybe another time" Mico responded kissing her once again. Drawing back he asked Levi who was deeply in conversation with the guys. "Dude... Why is he here?"

"Flynn requested his presence" Levi replied.

"What for?" Mico asks

"About..." Breanna cuts Levi short. "Babe am going to get lunch, do you want some"

"No.. don't bother" Breanna left the table to order her food leaving guys to themselves as they watch how her hips swayed from side to side. "Damn she is the main deal" Mico commented unable to take his eyes off her.

"Yeah, you are one lucky man" Levi said as their early conversation switched to beautiful girls in school, Dewey stood there although in pains of standing he was obviously enjoying the conversation.

Greg on the other would pay to be in the position his friend is in as he looks on with jealousy written boldly on his face. He was so lost that he didn't notice the banana peel someone lazily left on the floor, the flight from it landed him on the ground knocking over a girl with her tray of food, majority of the student at the cafeteria paid no heed to the banana peel boy or the food tray girl, they all carried on with their businesses.

Seeing his friend in this dilemma, Dewey made a gesture to help out but was held back by Ivy, "I wouldn't do that if I were you, if you are summoned here you have no right whatsoever to leave" she said. Dewey stood there caught in his thought of whether to help his friend or just simply ignore, his heart said do it but his leg felt like jelly and wouldn't move.

Just as he had finally made his decision a girl unknown to everyone rush to help, this is somewhat unusual as it never happens, everyone eyes watch the selfless act done by this girl.

"Who is she?" Mico asks a starstruck Levi

"How the hell would I know?.... Am as clueless as you are right now" Levi mouth widens as he watched the girl graciously lift up food tray girl, her lips calmly says "are you alright" food tray girl replies with a nod.

"Guy with the SpongeBob shirt find out who she is" with that Ivy departs from the table alongside other after receiving a text that Flynn won't be coming.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
