The President last day Chapter 1 One

"Rape?", she screamed.

Mrs Johnson who just finished dressing was heading to work before she got an abrupt call from a hospital that Aviva had been raped in her high school. She couldn't apply her psyche forthwith the news was broken to her. She stopped the call forthwith she was told. She lost her composure. She rummaged the room like an asthmatic searching for an inhaler. Her neighbours heard her uproar and became inquisitive. Some who overheard the glimpse of the uproar peeped through their windows. Nevertheless, who cares, none of them bothered to make findings, a spirit which African society was birthed with; communal. It seemed she couldn't make it to work for the day anymore. She pounced her hand on the head and removed the wig she wore, something she had initially roughen forthwith the news was broken to her, though she is calm, but quickly got frustrated.

Mrs Johnson was a widow, also an Aunt to Aviva. Aviva was the only child of her parents, they lived in Phoenix, Arizona, her parents died in a motor accident some months after she was admitted into the University of Michigan. Her parents were teachers before their demise. Johnson was the senior sister of Mrs. Jean, the mother of Aviva. She had a daughter and two sons. Her daughter was her first child while the remaining two boys were the second and the third respectively. The name of her daughter was Lloyd while the second and the third sons were Mark and Maverick respectively. Mrs Johnson was a passionate journalist. She studied Investigative Journalism at Harvard University on scholarship. She came from an average family. She and her late sister, Mrs Jean were two of best blood and were the only children of their parents. Forthwith her demise, Aviva only option was to go and live with her Aunt, Mrs. Johnson. She was a Journalist at CNN and also engaged in business especially estate properties. She was a calm woman, but could lose her calm over frustrating issues. She was a good mother and a role model to her children. She gave them the best in life. She lost her husband to the deadly virus, Covid-19 due to his aversion to heed the nation doctor's information concerning the deadly virus but kept following the former president's contention against face mask and how deadly the virus was. Mr. Johnson was just ill-fated to have died from the virus because the probability that the virus could kill him was short. They didn't detect timely that he had contracted the virus. It was during the first outbreak of the virus that was when he contracted it. Most of his colleagues at work were also diagnosed with the virus unfortunately he was among the few that died from it. He was on duty when he contracted it and didn't come home during the period or else his family could have been battling with the virus also. His covid-19 status was disclosed to his family while they thought he was at work and the next news they would hear was his death. She had moved on since the death of her husband.

She took her car key after perambulating hither thither in the room. Her thought was that she must be in the school hospital but something told her to call to confirm where Aviva was admitted. She supposed to have asked when she was called initially, but she lost her psyche. She couldn't take it if anything occurs to Aviva because she was the only successor of her parents. The spirit of Aviva's mother wouldn't forgive her if anything came about to her, she continue to mumble in her psyche. She went to the parlour to drop something. She went out forthwith, she forgot the car key, she had to jog back in to take it. She had to make a call to one of her cousin she knew at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta international airport (ATL) to book a flight. She drove to the airport. When she arrived. She phoned her contact.

"Hello, Melina, where are you?", Mrs. Johnson asked.

"Where are you so I can come to meet you?".

"At the edge of the lowest lift", Mrs. Johnson replied.

Melina reached where she was and saw her, they hugged each other. It had been a while they had seen each other. Melina's father was the junior brother of Mrs. Johnson's mother. Her father name was Collins Castle, he was a corp. Mrs. Johnson and Collins did work together especially if there was an investigation he could help her with. They were both working on the recent case of the massacre that was said to have taken place in Nigeria. After their discussion, she made ready a car that would come to take her to the Michigan airport. She boarded the plane and arrived at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne county airport after spending one hour and forty minutes, she was lucky to have booked the first flight out of eleven with the help of her cousin. She made a phone call to the contact that phoned her initially about the rape of Aviva.

"Which hospital is she?", Mr. Johnson asked.

"Henry Ford Kingswood hospital", retorted the receiver.

She had already spent three hours boarding a flight and driving all through. Her reaction changed forthwith she heard the hospital where Aviva was. She thought she would be at her University hospital. She thanked her creator to have made the call if not the journey would have been doubled. She waited for the car that wanted to come and take her at the Michigan airport. She was checking her wristwatch every second as she was running out of time. Her phone rang.

"Hello! I am at the airport", said the taxi driver.

"Huh! Please indicate", she said observing her surrounding.

She saw the taxi driver standing at the car entrance. She waved her hand to confirm if he was the one. She strides to where he parked his taxi. She seemed worried. Her Psyche hadn't been in her head since she had been informed of Aviva's condition, she pretended to be okay when she met Melina at the Airport, it isn't news she could break instantly to her. She had to change her footwear. The initial one she wore was too high to go through the stress she had been experiencing. She was saved by the traffic if not a car would have knocked her down. She didn't observe the car that was coming by her left before she stepped on the zebra lane. She almost went down when she heard the horn, because her psyche was already off. She entered the taxi. She took a long look at her phone like an albino who lost her route in the afternoon. She had to send the transport fare through her bank account because that was what she opted for when she ordered for the taxi. It seemed that was what she was doing. She checked her wristwatch and remembered that she had to make a phone call to the office where she works to inform one of the receptionists of her absence from work. They were the ones in charge of attendance and could know what to fill if she informs them.

"Hello! Please I won't be available at work today", she said.

"Ok, Madam", the receiver replied.

She had to be signed out and she reiterated that she would provide the reason she wasn't available if she resumed work. She felt bad for Aviva. Being her first year in school and it remained a week to her examination before the unfortunate incident occurred. She swore to expose the perpetrators. The taxi driver had been alerted of her payment. When they arrived at her destination, she dropped off the car and she headed towards the hospital.

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
