MAFIA HUSBAND Chapter 1 Arranged Marriage.

Isabella

I woke up on the floor, i guess i just fell asleep after crying my eye out.

Isabella the Crawford's are arriving soon i heard my mom say from the other end of the door.

I just sighed in response

I went into my bathroom to take a quick shower, i really need to be a baker and now my father is trying his very best to ruin my life.

I stepped out of the bathroom to look for dresses that would make me hideous.

Usually am a hot dresser and i dress sassy buh not tonight

I wore a jean trouser then a mid thigh skirt on it, then I wore a shirt on it, i also picked a singlet and wore it on the shirt. I added a nerd glass.

I smiled at my self comfortably

I roughen my hair a little, perfect now i look like a mad woman

I stepped outside my room door with two different shoe legs and headed downstairs

I could hear voices, the Crawford's are definitely here

Good evening everyone, i greeted.

My dad sent me a death glare instantly followed by

What the heck are you wearing Darcy? He asked in a threatening tone.

I shrugged... Clothes I replied nonchalantly.

Pie!! i squealed as i dug into the pie on the table like an animal, everyone looked disgusted especially the arrogant lucas and that's exactly what i wanted.

I noticed a woman smiling at me.. Gosh i really need you to hate me woman... I thought in my mind.

Isn't she just wonderful, i heard her say suddenly.

My eye widened in shock.

She didn't just say that did she?

yeah she's amazing mom, i would marry her... I heard Lucas speak for the first time.

Oh my goodness this boy is an idiot.. I just want to slap him

Good evening family... I heard my sisters voice

Oh my goodness Darcy, did dad do something again and you decided to make him pay by ruining his dinner or you are actually running mad!!! She exclaimed.

I sighed defeated

Just shut up Aria, i will go get dressed and follow you now... I replied.

Sorry about this Mr and Mrs Crawford, i apologized as i headed back to my room.

Irritating them isn't going to work, but i need to get out of this marriage one way or the other.

I took another quick shower and changed into ripped high waist blue jeans and a transparent black top. I added a pair of black boot heels.

I wore my accessories and used my contact lenses, my eyes are naturally green so i use contact lenses sometimes because they draws attention.

I stepped downstairs and met everyone having dinner.

You look amazing dear, Mrs Crawford commented

Thanks ma'am, i muttered

Mr and Mrs Crawford , i apologize because i have to leave now with my sister to do some baby shopping.

The baby shopping can wait... Dad said in a command tone

With all due respect dad, this marriage is for you, it's your business deal so finalize it, i don't need to be here.. I replied dragging Aria out and planting a kiss on mom's cheeks.

Am sorry honey, she muttered and i smiled at her

I know you are hurt little sis but dad might have his reasons... Aria said as we got into the car

What other reason than me wanting to be a baker, i said as i drove off..

Mr McKenzie

Am sorry about Isabella.. I apologize to the Crawford's

It's okay peter, i understand her.. I also have a daughter remember , James said and we laughed

Well since lucas already agreed to marry her we should set the engagement date.. Vivian his wife said

Yeah what do you think Anna? I asked my wife

I know this is for her own good but it just hurts to see my daughter like this, have never seen her this sad. I know you have a nice family but i won't be a party to this, Anna replied standing up

I will go talk to her Vivian said as she followed suit

Don't worry peter all will be well, James said as we continued eating

Lucas already stood up earlier to receive a call.

Anna(Isabella's Mom)

I don't know what as gotten into peter all of a sudden, this is not the way to do things. I thought

We have been friends for 8years now Anna, is my family bad that you can't get your daughter married to my son? Vivian voice asked from behind.

Of course not, but I can't bear to see my daughter this sad and why exactly would peter make this kind of decision so fast and harshly for that matter? I asked

Well he is in a best position to answer that but I promise your daughter is safe and she will always be happy.. Vivian replied hugging me

I guess she is right, Bella hasn't really been into guys either so maybe this is her chance in love... I thought

We both disengaged from the hug

Let's head back to the table.. I said

We both walked back to the rest of the family

Soon dinner was over and we talked for a while before they decided to leave.

Peter we need to talk!! I said Immediately they left

I know you want answers and I will give them to you.. He replied pouring himself a drink

What else do you want to say peter? I mean what else can you even say?... I shouted

You don't want her to be a professional baker because of what people can say, you want her to take over your compare. For God sake just let her be!!! I added

Yes I want Bella to take over the company, I don't want her to be a Baker, I want her to live like a princess that she is Anna and I don't want to force her to get married either.

"S-Save me!" Roxanne ran desperately, pushing her body to its limits as she feared for her life. Her eyes darted across the vast woods, searching for the apparition she had seen before she took to her heels. Then she saw it, the thing which relentlessly pursued her. The shadow resembled something she had never seen before, a man, a beast, she had no idea. The only certainty she had left was the fact that it was after her. "Someone... Someone help me!" She cried. Her voice was lost in the large expanse of dried barks and wilted branches. The snowy field of thorns and the cold winds of winter seemed to swallow her entire being, almost like it choked her. Her breathing became uneven as she panted due to exhaustion, yet she couldn't stop running. Doing so would mean her end. As she dashed through the cold and snowy path, she could hear it getting closer. "Grrrrrrrrrrrr"   The sound sent shivers down her spine. She willed herself with every fiber of her being not to look behind her for the fear of what she might see. She could feel it's gaze on her, she could hear the sound of it's growl. Roxanne could sense her pursuer's nearing proximity as she fled for her life. Many questions raced through her mind, but she didn't have the luxury to answer any of them. The only thing at the forefront of her mind was survival. Fortunately for her, the falling snow had ceased, else she would have been in a much more awry state. She just had to keep her legs moving until she reached the road intersection where she would get help. Yes, help would come! She heard creaking sounds above her, from the branches of the trees behind and beside her.  The monster was pouncing on them, keeping pace with her desperate sprint. She looked around her, but the creature moved too fast for her eyes to clearly capture its movements. It was as though the beast was toying with her, playing a game it knew it would win. ~ Coming to her grandma's in the woods for Christmas after an heated argument with her mom, Roxanne has never thought she would experience something like this. "Mine" The voice roared.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
