My Celebrity Crush Chapter 1 Brief introduction

Tamara's POV

The shrilling sound of my alarm penetrated into my ears.

"Oh my goodness!" I exclaimed, while jerking up from my sleep. I just hope I wouldn't die soon of heart attack, this alarm would never cease to startle the hell out of me.

I fumed inwardly, while glaring at it on the nightstand beside my bed.

I placed a hand on my chest and released a sigh of relief.

"Stupid thing" I muttered and slowly crawled out the bed.

I should better start preparing for today's activity.

I stepped into the bathroom, I picked my yellow toothbrush and applied some toothpaste before brushing my teeth.

I was done brushing after a while, I hurriedly uncladded myself and stepped under the shower to have my bath.

After some minutes,

I rushed out of the bathroom and got to where my small bag was lying, I really don't have much wears anymore but that's my least problem for now in as much as I don't go around naked, then people should feel free to say whatever they want.

I quickly I applied my body lotion even if i don't have dresses, I should always glow in my own world right?. I put on my jean trouser and yellow hoodie. Yellow was one of favorite color.

Gosh! .. Not again! I almost scream loudly.

Why do I always forget to wash this goddamn shoe? Well.. It's not my fault though, I resumes by 8:00am and close at exactly 8:00pm.

Whoa.. Talking about the time, it was almost my resumption time and I am still here, talking to God knows.

In a blink, I used a rag to clean up my only shoe and rushed out of my room, hoping not to meet him in the living room.

I was glad I didn't met him, I quickly motioned to the main door and stepped out.

It's another beautiful day.. Hmmm

I walked alongside with a young pretty girl in the pedestrian lane. Yes, I actually walked down to my working place everyday since where I live to my working place is just a throw stone and..

Oops! Pardon my manners I haven't introduced myself yet, I love talking so much.

My name is Tamara but you can simply call me Mara. I am Twenty one years old. I am light skinned with a very long and silky black hair which I love most about myself because I barely have time to take proper care of my hair.

And yes.. You need to see my dark blue eyes it's another reason I stopped regretting why I was brought to this earth. I so much love it! I was born and brought up here in Paris.

My childhood experience was not like that of other children and that was because I had lost my mother since birth. According to what I heard, my mom gave up to ghost while giving birth to me. And belive me when I say, It's so painful my Dad still blames me for my Mom's death.

He would always remind me that i brought nothing but bad luck into the Family, so that brought his strong hatred towards me.

He despises, he hates me, he doesn't like to spot me around him. He always find joy in hurting me, seeing me in despair pleases him so much.

My eyes became soaked as I remembered that night he had forcefully took my virginity, I cried, I begged him, but it all turned to his deaf ears.

I wiped the tears that were now rolling down my cheeks - Mom was not being fair, she should have just took me along with her, this life doesn't worth living. Well, except for the fact that I was still hoping to meet my one and only Celebrity Crush, RODNEY SHAW.

He has been my only source of comfort and happiness right from teen. Rodney has been singing since when he was four years old. But he started his acting career five years ago. He's just too good.

I am very sure I'm not the only die hard fan of Rodney, but if we are to be rated, I would definitely come first. His angelic voice melted my heart each time I listen to his songs, I always imagined myself sitting next to him whenever he appears on my TV screen.

A wide smile crept up on my face.

Rodney Shaw was all i have, although, I only get to meet him in my dreams and most times, I talk to his pictures whenever i am depressed. But I was still glad that I am fortunate to see him in my dreams, some ladies might even be praying to be in my shoes.

I didn't quite fancy cute guys or something, but I guess there's something that got me connected to Rodney. For Crush sake! I've been crushing on this guy since I was little and I never for once met him. Pathetic, right?

My Dad never permitted me to attend any of his shows, I could remember vividly when he had a concert in the city, I tried my possible best to sneak out but unfortunately for me, I was caught and I was grounded for straight two weeks. So ever since, I gave up and ride on with my loner life.

I was still in my deep thought when a car suddenly halted in front of me and it was not just a car, I mean a fascinating and breathtaking one.

Oh my world... Obviously, the car owner was stinkingly rich.

I was still admiring the car when a guy in black suit suddenly came down from the expensive car, he walked to the other side of the car and pulled the side door opened. The person slowly alighted from the car, one could tell from the figure that it was a man. He was backing me at first, but when he turned towards my direction, I could feel my heart beat stopped.

"What?!" I shrieked.

Was I imagining things again?

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband's Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn't find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn't even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father's legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn's party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara's health and managing every detail of Caden's empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I'd drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause-if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I'd forgotten.
