They Said I Did Something Bad Chapter 1 Woken Up

I am literally staring at the ground where I am sitting upon like it will really give me answers to the questions I have in my head right now. What the hell is happening?

Why on earth did I just came out from a pile of moist mud while my lower body is still covered in it? From what I can picture, someone must have buried me here but failed to notice that I was actually still alive. That was why my subconscious woke me up and here I am now.

I stared at my dirty hands, up to my arms and my upper body. I noticed I am wearing a now dirty white blouse. I didn't know how did I identified it as white when it fact, it was almost colored brown due to the moist mud covered in it.

After a few seconds, I looked up at my surroundings. That was when I realized I am in the middle of a deserted forest, or so I think. I looked up above and also noticed the dark sky where there are no even single traces of stars and even the moon that will give me glimpse of light there.

My forehead creased, if it was so dark in there, how the hell I can see everything around me? So clearly and vividly?

I also tried to remember who I am. But, when I realized I don't even know my own name, my shoulders dropped. Someone tried to bury me here, meaning someone tried to murder me, and now, I can't even remember who the hell I am? How lucky can I get, ehh?

I tried to get up and to my surprise, I quite have an unimaginable strength to pull myself up. That was weird. Isn't it just reasonable enough for me to feel weak when I just have woken up and stood up from my own burial?

That was when I finally noticed that I was actually wearing a dress and not a blouse like my first guess a while ago. But, my forehead creased again when I noticed some large dark red spots on my crotch area, that looks like dried stains of. . blood?

"Ohh my god. ." For the first time since a while ago, I whispered something like that, even though my voice kind of sounded hoarse and rough.

What. . what is this red spots? My hands trembled furiously and my tears started to flow endlessly even though I can't really recall what is the real reason behind those dark red spots of blood in my dress.

It was like, even though I can't recall it, but my heart does. Because my heart is freaking aching right now. It was hurting like crazy. It felt so heavy and I'm feeling so down right now.

What in the world really happened to me? I really wanna know the answers but how? And where? And to whom I should ask? What if my killers were just right around the corner and if they happen to see me, will they kill me again?

Maybe. . just maybe, I should find someone to help me. Someone that was not affiliated to my perpetrators. But, where can I find someone? Or, some people in these deserted area?

My chain of thoughts was cut short when I heard something far away from me very clearly. My eyes squinted in the dark when I tried to roamed my gaze around again and I was suddenly amazed when I spotted a large boar that was just ten feet away from me, hiding in a bush and just staring at me, surely preparing for an attack. Like it actually think that I will be its dinner for tonight.

How the hell can I see and hear that wild animal's quiet roaring sound when it was that far away from me? Is this some kind of a side effect when I miraculously came back to life after someone has murdered me?

A whole minute passed, I waited for the large boar to came running to me. And, when it finally did, I actually thought I would run away from it, screaming and begging for my life but my feet didn't cooperated. I stood there rooted right in my spot where I am still standing and waited for it to come near me with my eyes wide opened but with a face that lacks emotions.

The moment the large boar plunged right in front of me, I unconsciously raised my left arm and grabbed the boar's neck in the right timing and in the right spot it cried so loudly for what I did.

My mouth dropped open when I realized my left arm got some supernatural strength to keep holding the large boar's whole weight up in the air for like some seconds now. I got so scared at that so I tried to throw the large boar away from me and it flew really far away from me. Much farther from where I spotted it hiding a while ago.

"The hell. ." I whispered again and looked at my left hand. Really, the hell? How did I managed to do that? I closed my eyes and tried to breathe in some fresh air. I tried to think rationally but nothing is really making sense right now.

Seconds later, I found myself aimlessly walking in the middle of the dark. Without any direction and without any plan. I can hear the cracking sound of fallen leaves in the ground as I step on them and I can also feel sharp edges of stones cutting through the sole of my feet but I just can't feel anything like pain or what right now.

And, when I think I will still found nothing after maybe an hour of walking like a zombie, an abandoned looking warehouse appeared miles away from me. My eyes lit up for some hope, even though it's not really shown upon on my face.

I walked slowly but with a determination now to ask for help to someone who is maybe out there inside the abandoned warehouse. And, when I reached the large two front doors, I slowly opened it only to find nothing inside. Just darkness prevailing the whole place.

"Who are you?" I was taken aback by a deep voice behind me. I looked back and saw a tall scary looking man complete with a weird mustache on his face. When my eyes dropped on the shovel he was holding right at that moment, I suddenly know now that he was the one who buried me from where I came from a while ago.

I also got to confirmed my suspicion when his eyes grew bigger as he looked down at me. Because come on, not even a single soul is wandering around in that deserted forest, so how will I not suspect this tall scary looking man in front of me as my murderer? Or, one of my. . murderers, I think?

As he took a step back away from me and accidentally dropped the shovel on the ground, he hit something or someone behind him with his back.

"Ouch, Dante. What are you doing walking back like that? You idiot." I heard the voice from behind the tall scary looking man, Dante, said.

I just stared at Dante who is still in shocked upon seeing me, while his comrade in burying me in that burial pit, finally saw me when he moved beside Dante. I almost twisted my lips when I noticed the same freaking reaction his ugly face gave out upon seeing me alive, too.

"The fuck!" Dante's comrade shouted and his face suddenly contorted with so much rage. I just remained standing when he got the shovel in the ground and tried to smash it in my head but unfortunately for him, I caught it using my right hand.

With a boiling anger deep inside me while he tries to free the shovel from my hand but can't, I looked at him with a bone chilling stare.

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

Landslide

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.
