She just shrugged her shoulder everytime other people looked at her with full of disgust. Duh, mind their own business anyway. She's a lonely and non-socialize. She loves to read a cookbook rather than reading those corny books that made her goosebumps. Not until she saw her childhood sweetheart Marcus. After a long years of being separated. She can't understand herself why she wants to be more beautiful when he's around. What's new? She want to be the Samantha that always minding her own business not meddling to anyone's life. But what the heck? Why she can't stop herself to stalk her childhood sweetheart? She thought, she forgot her feelings for Marcus but she's wrong. She's afraid to realize that the hate she collected for him will melt just a simple smile of his. What she need to do to avoid the unacceptable feelings? And what's more when her mother announced that she's getting married? And worst to Marcus's father. What's happening to her life?
"Hey!good morning Sammy!" Dahlia her neighbor shouted and smiled. She just nod her head and yawn. Here comes another day of her life.
"Hey Sammy! Come down here! Let's have our breakfast daughter!" She heard her mother's voice. Before she left her room she did her daily routine. And when she's comfortable to what she's wearing she exited and took a glimpse at her wristwatch. Gosh! It's 7 in the morning here in California.
She get down on stairs and saw her mother reading a newspaper while having her coffee and pancake. She immediately walk at her mother's seat and hug her from behind.
"Good morning mommy! How was your sleep?" Sabrina tap her head and chuckled when she pouted. Her mother loves it when she's messing her hair. And tapping her head like as if she's still a baby girl like before.
"I was the one should ask you about that, how's my baby's sleep?" Her mother is always like this. She's treating her like she's still that crying baby when she's young. She doesn't like it when her mother always making her feel that she's still her baby girl that needed to be taken cared of.
Well, she can't blame her though. She grew up without a father by her side. Her mother raised her by herself. She sacrifice everything for her. That's why even if she doesn't want to be treated like a baby she can't whined. She don't want to argue to her only family.
One time she tried to talk to her mother about her father but ended up by crying and arguing. Sabrina confessed that her real dad is a married man when they had an affair. Her mother hoped that he'll choose them than to his family but he didn't. Instead, he avoided to talk to her mother and broke up with her without knowing that he made her pregnant.
Honestly, she should hate her dad. But she can't, she can't understand why. All she knows she want to meet him and know him. But she knew well that she can't. He's married, she don't want to ruin someone's family just because she appears and introduce that she's his daughter.
How ironic, she has the right to know even just his name but she's preventing to talk about this again. She's just thinking that, life is really unfair. This is her destiny so, she must accept this wholeheartedly.
"What are you thinking?" She blink enumerable times and shook her head. She must forget about this and never open up ever again 'cause she knew better that her mother still in pain.
"Mom? Why does our house is full of paintings? And why the hell you put that frame again?!" She can't control her irritates. All this years she tried so hard to forget that man. Just by looking at this frames made her sick. Her mother is always like this, her reason Marcus is so handsome that's why she want to display their childhood pictures.
"Don't raise your voice at me young lady! Of course I'd display that because I want to. Can't you see those dimples? Gosh! He's such a cutie!" Her mother giggled like a teenager. Her forehead knotted and she face palm. Took a deep breath and look at her mother again. Goodness Gracious! Her mother stressing the hell out of her. Sabrina giggled and wrapped her arms around her waist.
"Why are you being like that Sammy? Your making me sad." She pouted that made her roll her eyes.
"Mommy, I'm sorry okay? But please, remove that frame and get back my favorite vase with violet tulips on it." She's almost pleading. How much effort she did to just hate that man. But just looking at the picture making her forget that her rejected her before. She heard Sabrina tsked and made her face her mother's teasing eyes.
"Hmn, why my daughter so stressed? Is there a problem in your restaurant? Tell me, come'on baby I'm all ears." She shake her head and stood up from her seat.
"You know that I hate the things that reminds me of that man. How I hate his face." There's understanding emotion on her mother's face and she just nod. Never tried to bring up about her childhood sweetheart Marcus.
"Still can't get over on his rejection?" Sabrina suddenly asked. She felt a million hole pierce on her heart. How she wishes that she can go back to the past. And never told him about her feelings. How she wished that she stopped herself to confessed her love. How stupid she is, she didn't realized that in the first place she's just a friend to him.
"Mommy, you know that I love you right?" Sabrina's face is full of confusion. Then suddenly there's a worried facial expressions appears on her beautiful face. She look shock and there's unshed tears on her eyes. What the hell? Why she's gonna cry?
"Why are you telling me this? Don't tell me you'll end up your life just because of this? Come'on baby, I'll remove that goddamn frame just please don't leave your mommy just because of like this. It'll broke me. I swear." She wants to scre because of so much frustration. How ruined her day.
"What? You've got to be kidding me. You think I'm that cheap? Tss, mom I just want to tell you that don't bring up that topic ever again. That's why I told you that I love you. Goddamit!" She heard her mother laughing. She really loves to tease her. She rolled her eyes and is about to walk out when her mother stopped laughing and said something in a serious tone.
"By the way baby, I have something important te tell you." She faced her mother and there's a big question mark on her face.
"Your Tito Martin and his son Marcus will be here in just an hour. Baby, don't be shock and don't be mad at mommy. Promise me first before I tell you this announcement." She nod and waited her to say her announcement.
With a tense expression she speak. "I'mgettingmarriedsoonwithMartin" she annoyingly look at her mother. What the hell she said?
"What?" Weird. Her mother looks nervous and what she just said? Marcus will arrive here in just an hour? What's really happening? Why so sudden?
"I'm...I'm getting married with your Tito Martin. Please, do understand." She feels like her blood run through her face.
"WHAT?" There, she's already on the verge of so much frustration. Her eyes widened because of shock and adrenaline rush. How that happened? And really? Of all people why Tito Martin? Her mother knew that she loved Marcus before and now they're will be a siblings in law? Oh God! She thinks she'll past out. And before she knew it, she did.
