Nightmares Chapter 1 New beginnings

Stella's POV

I saw myself in a hallway with rooms highlighted with tongues of fire like that of the day of pentecost. It took me an hour to decide on what to do, suddenly a hand pushed me and i started running searching for that familiar room which could take away all the fears but the hallway seemed endless as i kept running breathing heavily.

Once again, the dark hallway came to light which brought a large grin to my already swollen face. But then as i ran past each room, the lights went off and the bulbs were falling. Fear gripped me bad as my forehead starting heating, my teeth vibrating but the tears refused to fall off. I kept moving scared to turn back, when i finally did a face with fiercy eyes stared back. I tried to scream but it kept staring and coming closer and closer, as i tried to absorb the fear by closing my eyes, it smiled and vanished.

It seemed like i was in a roller coaster, i turned like a whirlwind under the spell of a witch and suddenly, a sharp edged knife screwed into my mouth, down to my throat dragging out my intestines which seemed like a long rope with lots of blood in them. All i could do was stand there transfixed staring at the devil performing his task, he immediately opened his mouth to mutter something and as he opened his mouth, i could see maggots and dead thing in between his large teeth and on his tongue. The smell alone drove me mad as i slumed with my intestines hanging on my lips. He carried his elephant legs full of thorns and kept on my stomach making me scream loudly while he kept laughing wickedly.

His face was invisible but i could see his mouth, feel his presence and hear whatever he said. When he was satisfied, he took off his legs and smiled while i laid there helplessly. He opened his mouth once again to say something but closed it again and again then finally, he said " ๐‘ซ๐’๐’'๐’• ๐’†๐’—๐’†๐’“ ๐’•๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’Œ ๐’Š'๐’๐’ ๐’‰๐’‚๐’“๐’Ž ๐’š๐’๐’– ๐‘บ๐’•๐’†๐’๐’๐’‚, ๐‘ฐ ๐’๐’๐’—๐’† ๐’š๐’๐’–" that gave me a good laugh as he went away, the hallway lights came back. I felt at peace kinda but his words bothered me "๐‘ณ๐’๐’—๐’†" was that how to show it??

And with that i woke up to my mum tapping me hard..."๐‘บ๐’•๐’†๐’๐’๐’‚, ๐’ˆ๐’†๐’• ๐’–๐’‘ ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐’•๐’‚๐’Œ๐’† ๐’‚๐’๐’—๐’Š๐’. ๐’€๐’๐’–'๐’“๐’† ๐’‰๐’†๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’–๐’‘" I jerked up immediately breathing heavily to realise twas just another nightmare. My mum was confused as i let out a loud cry. "๐‘บ๐’•๐’†๐’๐’๐’‚, ๐’˜๐’‰๐’‚๐’•๐’” ๐’˜๐’“๐’๐’๐’ˆ??" my mum asked with a concerned voice, i was scared i couldn't mutter a word all i could do was stare at her confused face and close my eyes.....

I started College with the help of my mum's best friend, Maggie. She made sure I and her daughter Prisca started the same time at Preston College Of Music which was my dream right from highschool. I put myself into learning music as my role model was Ellie Ross and my best piece was "Bad girl", I and Prisca had been childhood friends so it was so easy for both of us to get along and fun yunno, leaving the house finally and staying away from the outside world for awhile was one of the things that made me glad about college. Mum and Maggie dropped us off in Preston College on the resumption date and seriously I didn't expect mum to shed a tear but she cried and that alone made me remember my dad.

" Don't fail your dad" Thats all she could mutter between sobs and i appreciated that afterall.

First day in college was really exicting as I looked forward to making friends and becoming a star girl!!. Prisca and I hurried to grab coffee before rushing over for our first class. I guess we were a bit early because the door was still locked and we met a guy equally waiting for the door.

"Hey, I'm Richie. And I'm new here"

"Ohh. I'm Prisca and she's Stella". We shool hands as expected. "And we're new here" I added smiling which gave him a good laugh.

As we started chatting the lecturer arrived and the door gave way for us and others who joined us later on.

The lecture was just an introductory lecture.

"Hello everyone. I welcome you all to Preston College Of Music" he paused and everyone applauded him.

"Okay. I'm Spencer, and I'm gonna take you on the introductory part of what is ahead of you. And I really want you to be at your best behaviour"

And thats how it ended though i was glad because the next lecture venue was far off.

Richie became our first friend ib college which made it easier for us. At least he was a guy and what surprised me was that freshman are not treated like juniors here, everyone is the same. We grabbed ice cream to go watch some movies in the school's cinema though i kinda hated going to cinemas since my dad died I just had to so I won't fail my friends.

When we got there, it was already filled with people so we sat at the back close to the door which i suggested was good.

Everyone clapped. The first movie was over and the next was about to start as people stood up to stretch thmeselves a bit. The movie started funny as i laughed seriously but suddenly everywhere became dark yet a girl was standing at the hallway before she started running and yelling loudly. A face black and thick showed up at the end of the hallway laughing hysterically, the girl in question was scared that she ran off and that same face was behind her which hurriedly took off a sharp edged knife and screwed it into her her mouth and with that she screamed loud and as i watched that part with fear, i screamed and passed out.

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcombโ€”the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhardโ€™s retaliation was absoluteโ€”he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancรฉe. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

I stood in the pouring rain at my father-in-law's funeral, the heels of my black pumps sinking into the mud. I was Mrs. Vargas, the wife of New York's most powerful billionaire, yet I was standing at the edge of the crowd like a forgotten statue. Ten feet away, under the dry shelter of the family tent, my husband Hayes held another woman against his chest. It wasn't me he was whispering comfort to; it was Felicity, his late brother's widow and childhood sweetheart. The humiliation didn't end at the cemetery. Hayes moved Felicity and her son into our home, relegating me to the guest wing while she took over the primary suites. He watched silently as her son smashed the only photograph of my deceased parents, then demanded I apologize for "scaring" the boy with my reaction. When Felicity's negligence ruined a twelve-million-dollar family heirloom, Hayes had the audacity to ask me to use my own savings to buy her a "consolation" engagement ring. He treated me like a parasite, never realizing I was a brilliant scientist with a hidden fortune and three patents to my name. I realized then that our three-year marriage was a hollow farce. Hayes had never even touched me, claiming he wanted to "remain pure" for his memory of Felicity. I was nothing more than a business merger, a smudge on the lens of the perfect family portrait he was building with another man's widow. The breaking point came during a lethal blizzard. Hayes promised to accompany me to my family's mandatory gala-a tradition where my absence meant a death sentence. But at the last second, he stood me up to stay home and tend to Felicity's stubbed toe. Left alone to face the wrath of the Santos Matriarch, I was forced to kneel in the freezing snow as punishment until my lungs began to fail and my vision blurred. Just as the darkness started to take me, a black Maybach smashed through the iron gates. My exiled brother, the man the world calls "The Wolf," stepped out of the storm to reclaim what Hayes had discarded. Hayes thought I was a helpless doll who couldn't survive a day without his trust fund, but he's about to find out what happens when you let a Santos daughter freeze.
