MARRIED TO MR PLAYBOY

CHAPTER 1

Andre's POV

"It's over between us, Clarice "l stated in a hoarse voice and sipped a bit of oolong tea.

The California blonde hair girl, Clarice and also my girlfriend who's going to be my ex girlfriend any time from now, smiled and began tapping her palms against the hard chestnut table.

I have to do this, l am sick and tired of her. She's getting annoying by the day and l just feel like ending things with her. Besides, l never took this relationship serious. In fact, l never took any of my relationships serious.

It's just how l am. A playboy!

"You're joking. Please tell me you are joking. You are, right? "She asked, pain glistening in her hazel eyes.

"I'm not joking. I don't joke "l said, icily and stood up, adjusting my tie. She stood up as well.

"Why, Andre? We've been a couple for just a week, huh? I love you so much please do not do this to me "she cried out and l looked away, rolling my eyes. She knelt down and held my feet. I flinched and moved away.

"Get off me, bitch. I don't love you anymore so f*ck off! Jeez! "I yelled with sarcasm and stormed out of her house.

I could hear her sobbing profusely from inside and huffed, putting on my shades.

That's it!...Women and their tantrums!!! .. They can't seem to take a breakup lightly!!..

Just then, my phone started ringing and when l checked, it was Fiona - my personal assistant.

📞Hey Fiona, what's up? 📞I said as l headed for my car.

📞 Good morning sir. There's an intern here and she's causing a commotion in the office because you're not here to attend to her 📞 Fiona responded, obviously stressed and l rolled my eyes.

📞 Can this day get any better? Alright then, I'll be there in a jiffy 📞I replied and ended the call.

Duty calls! I stepped into my car and drove out of that vicinity - Clarice's house.

Ava's POV

"It's been hours since l arrived here. Where is the hell is your f*cking boss??? "I yelled, furiously. This is outrageous!

"Madam, please stay calm. He will be .. "A lady reassured me but l was sick of hearing that line over and over again.

"Screw that missy! Do you have any idea who l am, huh? Do you? Hmm, l guess you don't. I can get this company sued for wasting my precious time "

"I just decided to get a job in this company for the meantime. Just you wait and see what l do, l will get my Dad .. "

"And do you know l can get you arrested for causing a commotion in my company? "I heard from behind me and turned to see a brawny guy but he sure didn't sound like a loafer.

His good looks and abs visible from his shirt sent shivers down my spine and l gulped down nothing. But l won't let my guard down just yet.

I tried to hide my fear and walked closer to him, gracefully.

"Where have you been, Mister? Screwing some bitches, huh? "I asked, dramatically moving my head.

"He's the CEO, l'm sure about that "

"That's none of your f*cking business. You know what? Get out "he grouched and l frowned deeply. "Get out right this minute!! "He thundered and l grunted and began walking out.

"B**ch "I heard him say.

"F*ck you a**hole "I yelped and showed him my middle finger before walking out, finally.

I got outside and entered my car and drove out of the compound. If only it didn't transpire in his company, l would have given him a piece of my mind.

What a spoilt brat he is!

I got home and sunk into the sofa. I scoffed as l remembered the argument that issued between me and that guy.

He called me a bitch. Just he wait and see what l do to him.

Gosh! Not like l can do anything anyways. I sighed heavily.

I remembered Ryan and took my phone to give him a call and tell him all that happened when Mom and Dad showed up and l rolled my eyes.

I stylishly kept the phone back . Actually, Ryan is my boyfriend but Mom and Dad never approved our relationship.

"Ava, you are back? "Mom asked as they settled on the couch.

"Yes "I nodded with a smile.

"Did you get the job? "

"No, l didn't get the job "I replied.

"I knew you wouldn't get it and you look like someone who got into a fight "Dad said and I itched the nape of my neck.

"Of course not, Daddy. It's not what it seems like "I lied, smoothly and he nodded.

Silence stepped in and I noticed Mom and Dad exchange nervous looks and l furrowed my brows.

"What are they up to? Seems they are hiding something from me "

"Umm .. Ava? "Mom broke the silence, nervously. Well, it was obvious on her face.

"Someone sent you a wedding proposal "She chipped in and l narrowed my eyes at them.

"And? "I snarled and they looked at each other again.

"We accepted "Dad let out, this time around and l gasped, loudly.

"What the heck, Dad? Why would you accept a wedding proposal in my absence? "I spranged up and yelled, lividly.

They stood up too. This is totally crazy. I don't want to marry a stranger, l only want Ryan.

"Calm down, Ava. I bet you are gonna like him when you see him "Mom said and came forward to show me his photo.

I scoffed. "You've got to be kidding me, Mom and Dad. There's no way I'm getting married to that douchebag! No fucking way! "I deadpanned and stomped upstairs.

"Ava? Ava? "Mom called out to me but l ignored, totally.

Andre's POV

I slumped down onto the sofa in the spacious living room. It's been such a long day. My mind drifted to the argument l had with that lady earlier today.

I'm not gonna lie but she had a really great shape. Fvck! Mere thinking of her physique made me have some movement in my pants. She's so perfect but not in character.

She's literally crazy.

I need a head! I took my phone and was about to call one of my b**chest when Dad showed up. I gasped and dropped my phone, quickly.

He had a cynical look on. Oh oh, that look. I know that look, he's definitely here to start up the wife issue and l'm so not in for that.

I'm so sick and tired of that conversation .. can't he let me live my life the way l want, huh?

"It's up to two weeks now and you haven't brought home a wife like you said you would "he started and l rubbed my temples.

With all these tantrums .. I might go bananas any moment from now.

"Well, l've got no other option than to choose a wife for you and l've found one "he paused and l looked up at him at once.

"She has also accepted your wedding proposal .. "

"But Dad .. "I tried to say but he restricted me by waving his palm.

"You would like to know the girl, right? Well, here she is "He said and took the projector remote control and switched the projector on.

A girl's photo appeared and l scoffed. "There's no way l'm getting married to that wench! "I yelled and walked to my room.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.
