Calantha was an orphan girl with poor backgrounds and not even finished high school. She received an offer for a transaction with Lady Selena of the Anderson family while she was working at a café. Calantha would pretend to be Selena and became the bride of the marriage of Selena and her fiancé, Asher Pittman. And Selena would run away with her lover, John. Would Calantha and Selena's plan work? What if Asher Pittman finds out Selena's planning to run away with John?

Kiss Me, My Wrong Bride Chapter 1 The Transaction

Calantha got out of the car. She felt overwhelmed when she saw the luxurious mansion in front of her eyes.

"Miss Ellis, please follow me. Lady Selena is waiting for you." The butler saw Calantha still standing and looking at the mansion. He warned her.

"Ah, yes, yes..." Calantha was embarrassed. She chased the butler into the mansion.

To this day, Calantha still cannot believe that one day she will step into such a majestic mansion.

The butler led her to the garden in the mansion. From a distance, Calantha could see the beautiful lady Selena enjoying tea.

Clear blue sky, cool air, gentle sunshine.

When she was only an inch away from Lady Selena, the butler stopped Calantha, alone, approached Lady Selena, and informed her of Calantha's arrival.

"I would like to speak to Miss Ellis," Lady Selena said.

At this time, Calantha could approach Miss Selena. The servant in the mansion quickly arranged more seats for Calantha.

Calantha was very confused. She comes from a poor family, and she doesn't know how to enjoy tea.

"Don't worry, Miss Ellis. Just be at home. And don't mind those extravagances." Lady Selena smiled friendly at Calantha.

Lady Selena's words reassured her. Calantha slowly relaxed.

Lady Selena discreetly assessed Calantha, she was extremely interested. When the butler told her he had found someone like her to replace her at the wedding, and gave her a photo of Calantha, she was surprised. She couldn't believe there was a person who looked like her. When she met Calantha in person, Lady Selena was even more surprised.

Calantha has similarities with her not only in the face but also in body, especially her clear green soulful eyes. When Calantha wears a wedding dress and chiffon, it's hard for anyone to recognize the differences.

"Did Asher like my eyes the most?" Selena thought sarcastically.

"Miss Ellis, you must have heard about your mission, right? Become my substitute bride, holding off my fiancé long enough until I can run away with my lover." Selena said.

"The butler told me," Calantha answered. "And I'm completely ready for that job. Just pay the amount in the transaction."

"Of course, I won't break the deal. But this is a hard mission, Calantha. Don't you wonder about my fiancé?" Selena asked.

Calantha shook her head. She did not care who Selena's fiance is, what she cared about is the amount of money she received, which is enough to cure her younger brother, Gael, and let him go to the best school in the city.

"My fiancé is Asher Pittman."

What?

Asher Pittman...

Calantha didn't seem to believe what she'd heard.

Asher Pittman is the leader of the rich and powerful Pittman family. His influence was so strong that everyone believed he could change the political landscape if he wanted to.

Asher is the prince in every girl's fairy tale.

Calantha also holds a certain admiration and gratitude for him. Because last year, Asher donated some money to the school Gael was attending.

But for Selena, Asher is nothing more than a madman. Whenever she looked into his eyes, Selena could see his desire to possess her. Selena understood that as long as she became Asher's legal wife, she could never leave his mansion, Rosé, forever.

If Selena does not meet her destiny, she will resign herself to becoming Lady Pittman and will be with Asher for the rest of her life. But just a week ago, Selena met a bodyguard, John.

From the first time she met John, Selena understood she had no reason to be Lady Pittman anymore.

"Asher and I have known each other since childhood, and I believe I have a certain understanding of him. If he knew I ran away, he would never let you out of his mansion until I was found. And maybe your family will be in danger too." Selena said.

Calantha was worried about what Selena said. In the first place, she was only thinking about how to hold Asher, but didn't think about how to escape from Asher's mansion.

If she could not escape, then Gael...

"Miss Ellis, you have a younger brother named Gael, don't you?" Selena asked.

"Um, yes..."

"Apart from the money you get, I will protect your brother from Asher's wrath, send him to the best school, and hire someone to take care of him. What do you think about it, Miss Ellis?"

"How can I be sure my younger brother will be safe? Asher has great power, he can quickly get information about Gael." "Asher's power is worrisome, but I don't believe I can't protect an ordinary person from his pursuit. Take this bracelet, Miss Ellis. This bracelet is tagged, it will tell you where I am. If I break my promise, you just have to give this bracelet to Asher." Selena revealed her left wrist with a bracelet identical to the one Selena gave her. "I wanted to test the performance of this bracelet," Calantha said. "Layla, help her." Selena accommodated her request. "This bracelet works great. I can trust Lady Selena," Calantha thought. Selena watched the entire process as Calantha seriously examined the bracelet. "You never let yourself suffer," Selena commented. "Asher will have a hard time getting useful information from you. I will put my trust in you."

Calantha hesitated for 2 seconds.

"I agreed," Calantha answered firmly.

Calantha understood that the transaction with Lady Selena was her only option.

Selena motioned for the servant to bring two copies of the agreement.

"If you have agreed, then sign and fingerprint this agreement. And of course, I will also sign and fingerprint. This means that our transaction will be valid. If either party violates the agreement, we will meet in court."

Calantha looked at the agreement neatly placed on the table. She was a little nervous because this agreement would change her life forever.

"May I read this agreement carefully?" Calantha asked.

"Of course, that's what you should do," Selena said casually.

The content in the agreement is very clear, the rights and responsibilities of both parties are equal, Selena has no intention of taking advantage of her.

Calantha took her pen to sign the two agreements, and the butler quickly brought her a tray of fingerprint ink so that she could stamp her fingerprints on them. Selena also signed and fingerprinted without delay.

"Take a copy of the agreement, Miss Ellis." Selena reminded her. "The rest, Layla will work with you for me. May I go first, Miss Ellis?"

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My five-year-old daughter was turning blue in my arms, her body rigid with a 104-degree fever. I called my billionaire husband, Clifton, dozens of times as I rushed to the hospital, but he declined every single call. While I was screaming at doctors and fighting to save our child’s life, a news alert flashed on my phone. Clifton was at the Met Gala, looking devastatingly handsome as he intimately draped his tuxedo jacket over the shoulders of his mistress, Eleanora. The nightmare didn't end at the hospital. Clifton used a secret clause in our prenup to snatch Lily from her bed and move her to a private facility without my consent. When I finally found her, my own daughter shrank away from me in terror. "Go away, bad Mommy!" she sobbed, while the mistress fed her oatmeal and whispered that I was the one who made the doctors hurt her. Clifton stood by and watched, telling me I was too "hysterical" to be a mother. But then I discovered the real reason they were hiding her. My husband was illegally using my late mother’s rare bone marrow samples to treat Eleanora’s secret blood disorder. Now that those samples are failing, he is taking Lily to a secluded castle in Germany to harvest our daughter’s marrow for his mistress. I sat in the dark, watching them play happy family with the child they plan to sacrifice. I realized then that my marriage wasn't just a lie—it was a biological harvest. They think I’m just a broken trophy wife who doesn't understand the science they are using to destroy me. They have no idea that I am "Ghost," the anonymous medical genius behind the very research they are trying to steal. As we board the private jet to Germany, I’ve stopped crying and started calculating. If they want to play with life and death, I’ll show them exactly what happens when a mother stops being a victim and starts being a predator.
