Chapter 1 Death I
"Where the hell is Maddy?" Andrew peeked around him not finding her anywhere near him, she was supposed to be with him but she wasn't and it got him really angry and frustrated.
“Find her you twits"Andrew barked at her supposed to be bodyguards, if he didn't come with Maddy to the gala event not only is his career ending as a PA, he was going to loose everything.
He rushed out of the black convertible BMW and into the street like a mad dog. His face showed discomfort and his previously well ironed suit was now squeezed. His phone rang and he answered without checking the caller.
"Three hours Andrew or you're as good as dead" A cold and distance voice barked at him, his hand shook and he held himself strongly seeing that he almost lost his balance.
The last person Andrew wanted to hear from was Alexander Gilbert, CEO of Gilbert group, he owned several business enterprises, hotel and telecommunications companies, the husband to Maddison Tunner.
"Where is it that your wife and son are again? Do not test me Andrew" Alexander threatened with his same old cold voice.
"Three hours Sir, I'll be there"Andrew said in a firm yet scared voice, his hands shook and he supported his grip on the phone with his other hand.
“And Andrew"Alexander voice came out loud again "Tell the little whore to keep her hands off me, else you'll pay for it" And the call died.
Alexander Gilbert was feared all over the city of New York, after his father died at a early age, Alexander started to run the affairs of his dads company at the early age of 17 with the help of his mother and dad's assistant 'Marco'.
When he was 20 he took over the business completely casting out his mom who fell in love and got married to Marco. "Over here" One of the bodyguard shouted, bringing Andrew's attention back to the situation at hand. Andrew ran to a red sport car and almost went mad with what he saw.
Maddison sitted at the driver seat, cold dead, bottle of sleeping pills beside her. "How did this happen?" Andrew asked the three bodyguards.
His whole body shook and he forcefully loosened his tie cutting the first two buttons of his white sleeve in the process. He believed this was the end of his career, it wasn't as if he cared about the cold, rude and mean Maddison but what would he tell Alexander? What will become of his wife and son?.
"We found her here, dead" Bodyguard 1 said professionally, stating the obvious.
"It was your fucking Job to keep her safe, to be with her always" Andrew barked at them clearly frustrated "Visit every media, find out who knows about this, pay them off and destroy every trace of this" Andrew barked at bodyguard 1 and 2, and then turned to the 3rd bodyguard "take her somewhere safe and wait for my call"
Andrew rushes to the BMW and drove off. After driving for about two hours, Andrew stopped at a coffee shop to clear his head "Yes with sugar" He said to the waiter and left to take his seat, while he waited for his coffee he decided to check the news.
As if the heaven favoured him, the gala got canceled due to some reasons yet to be disclosed. Relief washed through Andrew's mind, he just had to text Alexander that Maddison wouldn't be home because she needed space and then he'll use the time to sort out himself on what to do.
"Here you go" The waiter came and dropped his coffee, leaving after a cold and uninterested enjoy.
Andrew sipped from his coffee and went through the internet, looking for answers maybe. He had no idea how to handle the situation but he knew he couldn't let everyone including Alexander find out Maddison is dead.
Maddison got married to Alexander early this year as soon as she turned 23. After her parents met with an unfortunate death, Maddison had no idea how to run her Dad's company since all she did was shop and go to spa.
Alexander needed more power to take down a rival company and the only solution was a marriage to Maddison and merging both companies, killing two stone at once, and also saving Maddy from her Dad's elder brother who was on the verge of taking the company from her.
A text came from the bodyguards saying the media saw nothing, Andrew placed a call through to them immediately "Are you certain?"
"Yes sir" one of their voices came out loud and clear.
"Meet with the others and wait for my instruction" Andrew told them "do not receive calls from anybody especially Alexander" Andrew told them and hanged up.
A girl walked into the coffee shop immediately Andrew got off the phone. Holy shit! If he didn't know better he would have mistaken her for Maddison. Andrew was certain that heaven was on his side.
Her ocean blue eyes shone perfectly, her square defined fair skin shone like glass, her long honey blonde hair dropped to her waist, she somehow seems to be a little shorter than Maddison but who cares.
She appeared to be friendly with the waiter, took two cups of coffee and left in a hurry.
Immediately she left Andrew met with the waiter handing him a wad of dollars "Tell me about the lady that just left" Andrew said with a straight face. The waiter seems a little surprised but squeezed the money into his apron.
"Veronica Norway" He started and told Andrew about how she's an orphan, didn't go to college because she couldn't afford it, her childhood house caught fire killing both her parents and leaving her kid brother blind when he was just 4 and she 8, luckily she arrived home late on that fateful-day. She's been taking up different Jobs to survive and save for her brothers' eye surgery.
He was also told of her house address and other relevant information. "The Money was worth it" Andrew nodded at the waiter and left to pay a visit to Veronica Norway.
