Sebastian El Venuel, the son of a well-known alpha, is next in line and the only son of his parents. As he is bestowed the title of the next in line alpha, the elders assigned him to a difficult job. And that is to chase away the rogue that trespassed on their wolvendom. They thought it was some ordinary rogue but the one before him is none other than the Tyrant Rogue that have been roaming in different boarders bringing nothing but chaos. "We ask for nothing but peace. Ask anything that you want and we will grant it, even so, after that... We shall never see your face again" "You said anything that I want?... Alright then .. I'm bringing you with me"

Chasing The Alpha Chapter 1 Prologue

"And on this day forward, we are happy to announce, Sebastian El Venuel as the youngest Alpha on this wolvendom!"

Hundreds of applause were heard covering the whole ground. It is a day that is worth remembering. For I, the eldest child and the only son of my father who is the alpha of our pack is now bestowed a ranking as a wolf who will soon follow his steps.

My father, Reid El Venuel is a great person. He guarded and handle this whole pack to its peak. With a great sense of justice, strong, and intelligent features... He is classified as the best Alpha who ever rule in our pack. As for me, I humbly say that I walk after him. He is my role model. The person whom I look up to with great admiration and respect.

The alpha is the leader of the pack, they try their best to keep up with what's going on within the pack. They see each of the pack members as family and make important decisions that reflect the growth and welfare of the pack. The alpha creates the rules for the pack and makes sure they are properly enforced and yes, I am the son of an Alpha.

"Sebastian El Venuel,"

My name was called for the second time, I bow my head and kneel before them. This is the last ceremony for me to do to be treated as the next in line of the title of the alpha.

"You have accomplished various achievements at such a young age. What you have shown was truly honorable. As my son, you never fail me. With this, I can pass my title anytime with no worries for I know that they will be in the hands of a good ruler"

A liquid thing was placed on my forehead as my eyes were shut close. There is a sense of happiness covering my whole body.

A small smile trails on my lips. This is the very first timely father complimented me. He will constantly shout and glare at me to push me to do my utmost best efforts in doing everything that is obligated for me to do. I never know that he did think of me as that

"LARGA VIDA A LOS LOBOS"

"LARGA VIDA A LOS LOBOS!!"

I can't help but be filled with pleasure as everything around me feels delighted. Some foods and drinks are served to have a simple celebration.

"Sebastian, congratulations "

"Evan, thank you"

Evan greeted me. He is the son of a Beta general. We've been friends for quite a time. After all, he was the only person who would be willing to play with me when we were little. My father is truly scary even if he is admired and respected by people.

The Beta is Second in command. They are thought of as less important than the Alpha and Luna, but more important than the rest of the pack. Even so, Betas also have ranked and as for Evan's father, if I remembered it correctly, he is the 2nd.

"It is such a thing that Tyler is not around. I am sure he does feel dejected for not seeing you receive such blessing"

"Ah, now that you've mentions it, where is Tyler?"

Tyler is also a son of a Beta general who is handling some sentinels in the north. He was a bit younger than us and he is the cousin of Evan. I almost forgot about him, maybe I should just keep that, or else that kid will surely cry.

"He was with his father. Tyler was a sentinel for some time"

"That is good for him, he has been wanting to be one before... Right?"

Sentinels are those wolves who ensure that the pack is safe by patrolling the territory and watching the movements of the surroundings. They are to make sure that no intruders enter the clearing. That is to say, by now... maybe Tyler is having some patrol.

"Yeah, but surely he will cry with snot on his nose"

Evan giggled as he tried to tease Tyler who is not around.

"and who did you state as someone who is crying with snot on his nose?"

That familiar voice was heard coming in our direction. Indeed, it is Tyler.

"Good thing you made it"

"Yeah, my father needs to tell some things to the Alpha"

"You mean Sebastian?"

"Idiot, Mr. Reid, Sebastian's father"

"Yeah"

"My father? And... Is it about the patrolling?"

"Yes but I think it would be good if it is my father to tell it. I would be dead if I leak it to others"

He started as if he is hiding something. Did... Weird things happened out there?

"Then tell it to us, I'll make sure to give you proper burial"

His cousin stated as he tried to tease him. Even so, he talkback with worried eyes.

"Evan, why not I tell uncle that you failed to complete his regimens yesterday?"

Evan was now completely speechless.

"By the way! Still looking great as always~ not unlike this certain someone wasting his appearance"

Evan let out a scowl as Tyler movk him. He can't deny it since he never care about his appearance in the first place. Well, not unless Lea is around.

"Congratulations Sebastian. That was amazing!" He semi shout while slightly hitting me. He then immediately stand straight as if he is some good army.

What a big change of attitude. What's gotten into him?

"Forgive my rudeness, sir!"

He started as he now his head. Looking behind me, now I can tell why even this Evan who was supposed to answer back to Tyler didn't even say a word.

"Sebastian"

That tone and voice confirmed my thoughts. It was my father.

"A sight of rogue entered our wolvendom. He is somehow related to the one that the other pack have been alarming us to be wary of "

"How did he even manage to enter our wolvendom when the security is high and top tier?"

"He is no simple guy. Having a name as Tyrant Alpha, he is an existence that we can never kill. It would be a bloodbath if it happens"

"Are you truly sure that it was him?"

"No, my people didn't fully see his face and features. The only thing that can identify him is his red fur cloak."

"If that was it, there is no need to be that alarmed. Thinking that the existence and identity of that person is not yet exposed, talking to him would be good enough"

" I agree with his opinion. We must first ask nicely to prevent problems to occur. Having friends than for is hundred times better"

"Assuming that it is truly that tyrant-"

" Let's not assume things. Name a person you'd want to talk with that person and I think that it be settled"

"A person to talk to him?"

"Yes, by that, If you would all let me say my thoughts... I have someone on my mind"

"Aren't you telling your thoughts already? Don't beat around the bushes we have lots of time to lose. Tell us... Who?"

"Sebastian"

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
