Simona Eric's, A journalist and secret investigator of the EFCC (Economic and financial crime commission )was on an assignment but she was sent to the city of Dallas, Texas to uncover his secrets "The Roberto Williams" the city's number one business tycoon but again she has dated men and that reason was enough to make her job easier but it all lead to an unimaginable romance but Simona needed to complete her assignment in other to get a promotion. She has fallen in love with him but then there are more skeleton's in his cupboard to uncover but if Roberto Williams ever found out about her true background, will her budding relationship with him be doomed?...
Chapter 1 SIMONA ERIC'S
Simona walked to her book shelf then she walked back to her computer which was placed on her office table, sitting down on her chair as she sipped from her mug which was filled with coffee. The telephone rang and she picked it "Hello, Simona Eric's on the line" The man from the other end said something that made her frown then she dropped the phone and rested her back on the chair. It was her boss the chairman of the EFCC, he has an assignment for her.
"What do you think about the city of Dallas this summer? He had asked. The man is difficult to work with cause he's always a joy killer, she applied for a leave and she got the permission to stay out of work for a whole year but seems her boss doesn't want it that way and here he goes again with a big assignment but this time around her has promised a promotion and a new apartment for her to live in, not that she really needed an apartment but Simona loves her job a whole lot. She has also been a pork noser from her childhood days but this in no way refers to her as being a gossiper even though that is the nature of her job...
It was almost 3pm yet she still wasn't done with her article about the Houston tax protest and her head was quite occupied with what her boss might have in store for her but she knew that whatever it might be it's surely gonna be very tough cause she has earned his trust with her previous assignment which he had given her but that was within the city but now he intends of sending her outside the city something he's never done before but it was all for the best . She lives adventures and this seems to be one of the reasons while Mr George her boss and also the chairman of the efcc has instructed his secretary to drop her a mail about a board meeting by 9pm that evening and she needed to get ready for it.
It was 4:20pm by her time and she really needed some sleep as well as some good food, well she started to put her personal belongings into her red Gucci hand bag turning off her computer she went into her bathroom to ease herself then she applied some red coloured zaron lipstick to make it really bold and seductive, adjusting her brown coloured pencil skirt she walked out of her office.
As she walked her high penciled heels flicked the floors of the agency as she stepped into the elevator, her apartment was in River oaks as she drove out, she thought of ice she must be very hungry by now her small puppy was white and hairy but it's cuteness could easily be traced to it's eyes. They are so piercing and cold that sometimes she looks so scared but that was one of the above reason Simona loves her cause she feels like a goddess each time ice runs into her arms and she embraces her tight to get chest and the puppy would then lick her cheeks.
As she parked her car in her garage and looked at the sky, dark clouds were begining to form and it seemed as though it would rain she prays it rains now so it could stop before 8pm as she walked towards her door. She searched for her apartment keys in her hand bag when she found it she opened the door and stepped into her sitting room but she noticed that ice was no where to be seen nor did she run into her arms for her to pick her up and embrace her. She moved towards her kitchen go look for ice
"Ice" She called but there was no answer and she could feel her heart beating faster and she realized she was getting curious and scared but that shouldn't be cause there's no way ice could leave the house, she always locks her in or maybe she had died of hunger she thought and feared but first she needs to wear something free and simple before searching further for ice..
As she opened her door she was shocked at what she saw but then she felt her nerves relax but then how did ice get in here? She thought then she realized she had paid a carpenter to make a smaller door at the lower path of her door for ice. The puppy was actually missing her and had gone into her room to look for her because she always returns from work by 2pm, and how I've knew this was very simple cause she would always look at the clock when the short hand is by 2 and the long hand is by 12 then she knows Simona is already on her way back home but today seemed different because Simona was still not home by 3pm and she had exhausted get lunch.
"Awwnnnnn my darling ice, missing me so much that you had to come into my room" Simona asked as she picked the already cheerful puppy which was wiggling her tail as she saw Simona and she kisses the puppy
"Let's get you some food" Simona says
