Rebirth of the Holy Lady

Gu Xuqiao’s POV

I stared at the group of kids of about five to six as they beat up another kid mercilessly. The group of kids looked to be around only twelve or thirteen years old. The one being beaten up laid on the floor like he was dead, but the group did not care but instead continued to hollow punches and kicks at him.

These kids were too brutal for their age. Damn. Looking at the kids, only two of them could have handled the young girl, or even just one of them. Why did they have to attack all at once?

I watched with an indifferent expression, not that I do not want to help but I can’t seem to leave the sky I was no matter how hard I tried, so I just stood there and watch till the end.

From where I was standing I could see another group but they look to be only just two kids there, they were also watching the fight, or should I say the beating rather. They seem to be discussing something among themselves but I could not hear them. I tried focusing my eye sight if I could hear them but I could not, neither could I read their lips. Maybe I can’t even understand their language if I could even read lips.

“I can help you hear them if you wish.” A voice sounded beside me. That was when I realized that a person was standing beside me. If he had not spoken… I could not even feel his presence neither could I hear his breath.

I turned to the source of the voice only to find a young man’s figure standing beside me. I could not see his face just his physical body clad in a white robe. His physique was so light that he could be mistaken as floating cloud. His face was covered in a white light.

I tried to see his face a few more times but I could not see him I gave up and nodded at his statement.

Without him doing anything or it was me who did not notice anything, I could clearly hear the voices of the two young boys hiding behind the rock with a few thick plants on top. The plants were covering their figures very well.

“Shiang are we really just going to stand here to watch her being beaten up like that?” The shorter one wearing a blue vest questioned the boy standing close to him. He looked like he was thirteen. The boy standing close to him was wearing a green vest but the emblem on his right chest was same with the one that was wearing a blue vest.

“We would naturally help her but let the beatings continue for a while more. She has offended Xun and you know we can’t hurt our fellow clan member. So why not make use of the opportunity to teach her a lesson? If you make a move from here to help her I will tell sister Xun that you have betrayed her. Hump!” the youth named Shaing said.

After he finished his words, I realized that the youth being beaten up was a young girl not a boy. But she looks like nothing like a young girl. Her chest was entirely flat and she was very petite. What kind of grudge did she have with those youth for them to beat her to this extent?

“She is not moving anymore do you think we should stop?” one of the kids among the group beating the young ‘girl’ up said loudly. They all stopped for a minute. It was then I saw clearly.

The young girl’s hand covering her face fell down and…

“aaahhhh” The two kids behind the rock rushed out in full speed. Seeing the two kids rush towards them, the group of five kids fled for their lives. They kicked the thoughts of checking if the young girl on the floor was still alive out of their mind and ran away with their tails tucked in between their legs.

In this world, when a power is greater than yours, it’s either you succumb or you flee. I think fleeing is the best option because you might be able to come back for revenge after leveling up or you just live life hiding from powers greater than yours.

“Shiang this is all your fault. She is not breathing. What are we going to tell the clan master? What are we going to tell the family head?” the boy in blue vest complained bitterly after confirming that the young girl on the floor was no longer breathing.

The boy named Shiang slapped his head. “Instead of complaining here, pick her up and return to the manor quickly. What a bummer! Very useless piece of trash. Not like she was not older, why was she not able to protect herself at all?” Shiang said in an irritating tone.

The girl opened her eyes to reveal a beautiful pair of ocean blue eyes. Those set of eyes stared at me directly immediately they were opened. The kid that was bent over the young girl and about to lift her up did not see the young girl’s eyes open, he was only focused on carrying her as all her body was injured.

I was stunned to see her open her eyes. Was she not dead a few seconds ago? How did she open her eyes just now? I turned to the man beside me and returned back to the young girl.

The girl’s looks were just like…

The next second her eyes closed.

Immediately, I fell from down the sky with my consciousness slowly fading away as I fell. I stared at the man clad in white robes who used to stand beside me. I got a glimpse of his face before my consciousness finally faded away.

Back to Author’s POV

A young girl with a lot of blisters sat on a soft bed staring at two elders discussing something without a single care for the person on the bed. She did not know what they were discussing and their images were blurred in her sight.

“Those kids were a bit ruthless. Weren’t they afraid the Gu family will come look for them?” One of the Elders said. Though they tried to reduce the volume of their voices, the young lady on the bed can still hear what they were discussing. “How would they be afraid? If they can do this and so openly then they must have been angered beyond what a few words can settle.” The other Elder spoke with an irritating tone.

“Of course, the young miss did not consider the image of the Gu family before looking for trouble outside. Why would unrelated individuals consider it? What a waste of talent!”

“Don’t talk about the young miss that way. She must have been ambushed by those kids.” Another Elder walked in and said to them causing the other two Elders to frown. The three of them turned to the little girl on the bed.

The third Elder who just walked is Elder Jiao, he asked the girl on the bed. “Qiao Qiao you didn’t hurt your head right?” The First Elder left the room, leaving only the Second Elder and Elder Jiao and the young girl in the room.
