Louve Dakota, a female wolf shifter, is doing all in her can to steer clear of falling in love with Luca Elda, an alpha male wolf shifter who has a reputation for being aggressive. When they first meet, she is certain that she will be able to resist being swayed by his good looks and charisma. Because Lupa was only fourteen years old when he won the right to be alpha of his pack by defeating his own father in a fight, she believes that he can't have anything positive to give the skilled healer other than problems. After all, he won the right to be alpha of his pack by fighting and winning against his own father. Due of Lupa's dominating presence and icy-blue eyes, Louve can't help but be attracted by him, and she ultimately gives in and chooses to establish an awkward alliance with him. Louve can't help but be captivated by Lupa because of his presence; she can't help but be captivated by his eyes. If the two are successful in convincing their respective packs that they have chosen each other as mates, then Lupa will indeed be able to win big political allies, and Louve will be able to escape an unpleasant arranged mating. Both of these outcomes are contingent on whether or not the two are able to convince their packs that they have chosen each other as mates. Yet there are a lot of potential snags with this plan, one of which is the very real chance that the wolf shifters, overtaken by the growing desire they feel for one another, may be unable to retain their cool and carry out the lie. This is just one of the many issues that may arise with this plan.

Chapter 1 1

What in the name of the Almighty was that obnoxious smell?

Louve thought to herself as she gently opened her eyes that the aroma wasn't all that offensive, even if her eyelids were too heavy to lift. But, there was absolutely no excuse for it to be in her bedroom in the first place. Her memory, which was impaired as a result of her lack of sleep, was able to recall three separate pieces of information. One, the odor was truly the scent of a person; it was a very enticing perfume comprised of fresh pine, rain from the spring, and cedar wood. Two, the odor was actually the aroma of a person. Two, the enticing scent belonged to a guy who had masculine characteristics. And lastly, that guy was a wolf shifter as well, just as she was. They were both the same species. Despite the fact that these strangers had a delectable scent, Louve Dakota did not let any of them inside the pack's dwelling, even if they were males.

She was able to push a drooping eye open and get a gAspen behind her, where she was able to confirm her suspicion that the unidentified male had vanished quite some time ago. She was relieved to have this information. She wrenched her head around, which felt unusually heavy, and peered at the alarm clock that was sitting on the table next to her bed. Or, at the very least, she would have done so if it hadn't pulled a disappearing act in the meanwhile. In addition to the table that was located next to her bed. She had been sound asleep on the cozy linens of another person when she suddenly realized that they were not hers. She had been using someone else's bed.

She jolted herself awake and sat up in her seat on the bed. And vowed a curse upon you. Since she wasn't in her room at the time, the answer is no. In point of fact, she was nowhere near her own home at the time of the incident. Not only as a reaction to the luxury that was all around her, but also as a reaction to the realization that she was inside what appeared to be a huge cave, her eyes widened as she cautiously surveyed her surroundings. This was not only a reaction to the luxury that was all around her, but also a reaction to the realization that she was inside a cave. A cave?

The cave, on the other hand, did not date back to the Stone Age. Hell, no. The walls were constructed of a light cream sandstone and were perfectly smooth, with the exception of the occasional nook that had been transformed into a tiny shelf. The walls were also completely smooth. The rooms had a plush beige carpet that was thick and covered the floors.

Seemed to have an easygoing and welcoming demeanor. The headboard of the platform bed had a dark wood tone, which worked nicely with both the triple wardrobe and the enormous set of drawers that were also made of dark wood. Both of the pieces of furniture featured a style that was characterized as being quite masculine. Because of the smooth arch that had been cut into the wall of the cave where the bed was situated, the bedroom gave off the impression of being fairly homey despite the fact that it was quite spacious. But, the temperature was not high enough for her to declare that she was enjoying the peculiar little predicament that she found herself in.

She did not experience any feelings of worry or anxiety in spite of the fact that her inner wolf was keeping watch. Louve let out a chuckle. Her foolish wolf didn't even have the good sense to be worried about the fact that she was in an unusual location – a cave, of all places – and that she had no knowledge of how she got there. She had no idea how she got there, and she had no idea how she got there. It turned out that her latent status was perhaps a blessing in disguise.

So let me get this straight: after she went out with Ziva, did she somehow end up coming back with some other guy? It seemed like there was something missing from the situation. To begin, she had no recollection of making plans for a night out, much less actually going out on the town. She didn't even remember going. She never had the opportunity to become really drunk since the nature of her profession as a pack healer required her to be on call at all times. As a result, she never found the time to consume a lot of alcohol. In addition, she was dressed in garments that were much too informal for her to ever think of donning in public, and neither she nor the bed smelled like there had been sexual activity there.

What was she doing just before she blacked out? / What was the last thing she did before she passed out? She was able to recall that she had visited the internet café in the middle of the day, despite the haze that had begun to settle over her thinking processes. She was certain that she could not recollect how she arrived at that location, despite her best efforts. It was essential to keep in mind that she suffered from NRS Syndrome (also known as Never Remembers Things Syndrome), but this was in no way related to that condition. It was almost as if she had a gap in her recollection about the whole thing.

Louve took a long, deep breath, bringing the air all around her into her body and processing it along with the plethora of aromas that she could smell. She was the only one who could smell herself and the delicious-smelling wolf; the only other individuals she could detect were the other two. It turned out that one of them was the wolf. A second man and a second female, both of whom were wolf shifters but had no previous experience. Neither of them had any idea what to do. At least she was able to be sure that she was not under the control of that jerk of an alpha, Aura, who didn't give a crap about the fact that she didn't want to be claimed by him. She was able to be positive that she was not under the control of Aura. She was no longer subject to his control. In point of fact, her father didn't give a hoot about it either; he was too busy trying to make an alliance with the other pack, and if it meant abusing his daughter to get it, he would happily do it. Her mother, on the other hand, did care a hoot about it. In his game, she was nothing more than a piece.

She yearned to be able to respond that it was just owing to the fact that he was so anxious to be in a relationship with her. She desired to be able to say that. Nevertheless, this was not the case since her father already had a significant number of connections with the packs of other territories. Due to the fact that she was a latent, she was both an insult to his dignity and an anomaly in his family. As a direct consequence of this, he lacked the capacity to provide his whole attention to his single offspring. He had a deep-seated hatred for her since he had known, from the minute she was created, that she would be the cause of his downfall. Because of this, she placed suspicion on the supposed "greatness" of the guy.

Those individuals still present in the group. Or at least that's what he believed at the time. He wouldn't bother putting her photo on a milk box because he wouldn't want to spend his time doing it if it turned out that she never came back from wherever the devil she went.

As soon as she saw a set of beige curtains in the room, she threw the bedcover to the side and got out of bed to investigate the new surroundings. She was overwhelmed with a sudden wave of disorientation, which caused her to stutter just a little bit. Why was she behaving in such a peculiar manner, Lord? She staggered over to the draperies and pulled them apart in a way that was cumbersome and sloppy on her part. Regrettably, the bay window that she exposed could not be opened. At that moment, the morning seemed more like the late afternoon than it did the early afternoon did. Does this mean that she was just there for a short while and did not spend the night at this spot because of what it says? Or did it give the impression that she had just recently awoken from a really relaxing nap?

As she took in the view, the space between her brows narrowed until it was almost impossible to distinguish it from her hairline. The vast majority of packs had a large and opulent lodge that was surrounded by a number of more modest dwellings. Some of them even had cottages built directly on the cliffs themselves. But, instead of being perched on a cliff, this site was the cliff itself. With its arched and illuminated balconies and its smooth stairs leading to the different stories, it brought to mind those ancient cave dwellings more so than the town of Bedrock.

What the devil could be going on here?
