Chapter 1 First sight of ocean

Chapter 1

Emma had always been fascinated by the ocean. As a child, she would often spend hours staring out at the waves, wondering what lay beyond the horizon. So when she got the opportunity to join a research expedition to study marine life in the Pacific, she jumped at the chance.

The ship was a small, cramped vessel, but Emma didn't mind. She was too excited to care about the discomfort. As the ship set sail, she watched the coastline recede into the distance, feeling a sense of freedom and adventure that she had never experienced before.

On the third day of the voyage, Emma was on deck, watching a pod of dolphins swim alongside the ship, when she heard a voice behind her.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Emma turned to see a man standing beside her. He was tall and slim, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Yes, it is," she replied, feeling a little shy.

"I'm Alex," the man said, holding out his hand.

"I'm Emma," she said, taking his hand.

For the rest of the day, Emma and Alex talked and laughed together, discovering that they shared a love of the ocean and a sense of adventure. By the time the sun set over the horizon, they had become fast friends.
