Chapter 1 Prologue

The Breakup

It was the eve of Christmas; 24th of December and the bustle of Christmas decorations were up and about in the city.

The Hopkins family were no exception; they were up and fully into decorations and preparations, almost as if they had caught a Christmas Fever.

“Here Sara, pin these jelly Christmas boots. I got them delivered from an online store this morning.” Trisha tossed a bag of jelly boots to her younger sister.

“I thought we agreed that we already have enough glitters and stuff for the tree.” She hung them.

“Yes, but Barak and I decided that they would hang lovely on the tree.”

Trisha wound her arms around her fiance's shoulder, pushing her body towards his and planting a kiss on his lips.

Barak's arms held on to Trisha's slim lower waist, and hugged her to himself affectionately.

“I think we make the best decisions, don't we TrishaRell?” Barak's voice was soft on Trisha's lower ear as he called her by the pet name he made for her.

She was getting turned on, but she was going to hold on a lot longer to grind him after Christmas Eve’s dinner.

“Okay, gather around kids.” Trisha's mother called to them.

“Let’s have this dinner then you can smooch all you want.” She chuckled.

They sat around the table and said a prayer to God for good life, happiness and Trisha's forthcoming wedding.

It was a jolly time for the entire family and the young man getting set to join the Hopkins family.

After the dinner, Sara and her mother made their way to the room while Trisha and Barak moved to the other side of the house for a more affectionate exchange of love.

*****

The night was long and steamy, while the moonlight decided to be calm and soothing to the skin, Trisha Hopkins was sure that the heavens were in support of her copulation with Barak.

Nothing mattered, because nothing could go wrong.

However, the moonlight had only agreed for he night.

It never promised a long lasting happiness for Trisha Hopkins. The next morning, Trisha awoke to a letter of farewell and an invitation from her supposed fiance.

He was going to be attending a Christmas wedding, and he invited Trisha to poke around and see the beautiful couples. In shock, Trisha got into her clothes and drove to the venue.

It was Barak, and his wife, about to be wedded. The betrayal hit Trisha deep in the chest, she was unable to move from her position. Her legs became weak and failed her, crashing on the mowed geass, she screamed frantically in pain.

Tears rushed down her eyes in torrents, and she could not bear what she was seeing. Barak was engaged to her and was supposed to get married to her in three weeks time.

How did that happen? In pain, Trisha took her car key and dug it deep into the veins in her wrist.

Slowly, her line of sight became faint and her consciousness oozed out of her. Trisha was out.
