Chapter 1 1. Unknown Man's Room

How do you feel when you suddenly wake up in an unfamiliar place? A sixteen year old girl named Lynelle woke up and felt like she had just been asleep for a long time. This time Lynelle woke up with a big smile on her face and felt like she had a lot of energy. Although in reality Lynelle was shocked and confused, like a lost traveler trying to find his way home.

"Where am I?" asked Lynelle into the stillness of the night.

How could he know? Because the lights in this strange room were on, it was bright. It was no surprise when Lynelle was awakened by an unusual light that greeted her. Lynelle had always been used to sleeping with the lights turned off, leaving only a small yellow lamp burning on the nightstand.

As usual, Lynelle held her head after waking up. Trying to adjust his views to the new things that are in front of him now.

A room with a masculine feel can be seen from the dominant gray color and also some white wall decorations. Absolutely not Lynelle's room!

Whose room is this actually? And, how could he fall asleep at this foreign study table?

"Mommy!"

"MOM~"

Lynelle shouted as if she was completely ignored. He was annoyed, then got up from his seat intending to leave this strange room. However, suddenly his steps stopped. Lynelle froze where she had just been standing. Her eyes fell on the figure of a man who was sleeping on the bed. Good grief! Who's he? And, how could Lynelle be left asleep on the study table that she believed belonged to the man while the strange man was sound asleep in his thick blanket?

Lynelle's tentacles grew instantly! Lynelle is angry!

"You're heartless!" Lynelle cursed at him who was still comfortably wandering in his dreams.

Suddenly Lynelle's mischievous idea emerged. He casually walked closer to the strange man under the thick blanket. Slowly but surely, her little hands reached for the blanket. However..

Lynelle's hands couldn't reach him. Her little hand seemed to be just a shadow. What happened? Lynelle started to panic. He reflexively hit his own cheek.

"Ouch, it hurts!"

This is not a dream.

Strangely, Lynelle's shrill voice actually managed to wake up the strange man in front of him.

"AAAAAA!!!" Both of them screamed in surprise at each other.

Wait a minute..

"You can see me!?"

"Who said I was blind? Who are you? And..how is it that you ended up in my room!?"

"I don't know either! You are so evil! How come girl are just left to fall asleep at the study table! You bast-"

"Shut up. Noisy," he said in a very cold and unfriendly tone. Instantly Lynelle fell silent.

The foreign man got up, then walked away from his bed. He had just come out of his room. Leaving Lynelle surprised because the door closed quite hard. Lynelle's heart, which was usually treated gently and lovingly, suddenly felt tight.

Is there something wrong? Why did the foreign man seem so unfriendly to him?

The door opened again even though Lynelle had not had time to hide. He gave in and smiled awkwardly at a woman who looked the same age as his mother. So, the strange man called his mother here to report that Lynelle was suddenly in his room. Lynelle was sure it must have been the stranger's mother who brought Lynelle here.

"That's it, Mom! Why are you quiet, Mom? Who is she?"

Instead of immediately responding to his son's query. The woman who was addressed as 'Mother' truly gave her kid a dejected face. "Dexter, what did you just dream about?"

"Dexter..." Lynelle muttered as she noted the name so that it would remain in her mind as the name of a very disagreeable man who was also haughty and lacked manners.

"Mom, I had no dreams. Why, Mom?

"Never mind, you should get back to sleep. Before retiring to bed, remember to read a prayer. OK?"

"Maa..she-"

"Dexter, don't scare Mama. It's almost one in the morning, Dexter."

"Afraid?" Lynelle felt confused by the words that came out of the woman's lips. What kind of situation was he actually in?

Dexter pointed at Lynelle, "Mama can't see it!?"

He felt that his son was only being carried away by his hallucinations due to not having fully awakened from the dream he had just experienced. Nelda-Dexter's mother, didn't care, immediately left.

Don't forget, the woman also closed the door to Dexter's room tightly. While holding her chest, she was still so shocked by Dexter's bragging story so early in the morning.

"There can't possibly be a ghost in this house!"

Both of them have been silent since Nelda left with their annoyance at Dexter. Neither Dexter nor Lynelle have spoken yet. Only the ticking of the clock is the sound. Lynelle sat back down in the place where she had originally woken up - Dexter's study chair. Meanwhile, Dexter sat in silence, leaning his head on the back of the bed. His hands were folded in front of him, his eyes never for a second moved from the figure of Lynelle, who he concluded was not human.

Lynelle, who felt uncomfortable, asked, "Can you just look at me normally?"

"Can't. Who are you, huh?"

"Yes, that's the problem. I do not know. Who I really am, I don't know. I'm dizzy..." complained Lynelle to Dexter, which actually succeeded in provoking the man's emotions.

"If you are a ghost, don't bother me! I'm not afraid of your model ghost."

"What if I'm not a ghost?"

"I don't think you are an angel. So, don't expect me to think you are an angel who came down from heaven."

"Your mouth sure is evil when you speak!"

"Yes, that's why go there! You don't belong here!" chased Dexter away.

Feeling completely unwanted by the man she thought she could rely on, Lynelle felt very sad. The reason is, only Dexter can see his form.

"Dexter?"

"Don't call my name in vain! Don't pretend to know me. Go!" Dexter then positioned his body to go back to sleep. He had absolutely no fear of invisible creatures who might be angry because he was expelled. I don't know, Dexter still doesn't believe his new ability to see spirits. At first glance, she looks like a normal girl. Beautiful. Shine. But it's scary because only Dexter can see it.

What made Dexter curious was, how could he be the only one who could see the strange girl's form?

Does Dexter have a new ability in the form of a sixth sense?

If YES, then Dexter will have to get used to seeing lots of ghosts roaming around out there.

"My name is Lynelle. Only the name I can remember. About how did I get here? I don't know myself."

Dexter was silent, didn't respond at all.

"I know, you haven't slept yet. Actually I'm confused. What am I? Why can't your mother see me? Please don't evict me, I implore you. Where should I go? I won't annoy you, so let me stand by your side. Only you can see me."

"I am an invisible creature, Dexter. You should not mind my presence here. I beg you. Let me be here for now...I'm really lost. If I were a curious spirit, there would definitely be a time when I would go and disappear by myself. I know, Dexter. Our world is different." Lynelle couldn't hold back her sobs. He cried silently before dawn.

Lynelle really didn't know what happened to her. He only remembered his name. Apart from that, there were no memories left in his memory. As soon as Lynelle closed her eyes to try to remember, her head hurt badly.

"Aarrghh.." groaned Lynelle while holding her head.

A moment later Lynelle felt a warm breath coming from beside her. Dexter! The man suddenly stood beside him at such a close distance.

How could Dexter touch it without breaking through? Wasn't Lynelle unable to remove the blanket that Dexter was wearing because the girl was just a shadow?

This is strange..

This was truly an event that Lynelle had never imagined, who felt that her whole life had always been normal and fine.

"What happened to you?"

"My head hurts so bad, Dexter."

"Ghosts can get headaches, huh? I just found out, Lyn."

Lyn?

"What did you just call me?"

"Your name is Lynelle. I called you, Lyn. It's not wrong, right?" Lynelle just nodded happily.

So, is Dexter ready to call his name? Isn't this like a glimmer of hope?

"Why are you smiling to yourself?"

"No, it's okay. So, I can always be by your side?"

With a forced expression on his face, Dexter nodded. "Hm."

"Thank you, Dexter!" Lynelle was of course very happy, she didn't realize that her hand was currently holding Dexter's right hand. Can. It wasn't like before, when Lynelle was about to lift Dexter's blanket.

In this very second, Lynelle became increasingly convinced that only Dexter could help her solve various mysteries about herself. Even though their worlds are different, Lynelle still believes that there is a reason why fate brought her and Dexter together.

A moment before Dexter lay back down on the bed and was about to continue his disturbed sleep. He turned to Lynelle. "My name is Dexter Fardeen. You can call me whatever you like. Don't disturb my day. Understand, Lyn?"

"I understand, Dexter!"

"You have to obey me. Beware, if you try to bother me, I won't hesitate to summon the priest to drive you away."

Then Dexter continued his postponed activities.

Instead of being afraid of Dexter's threats. Lynelle actually responded to the threat with a sweet smile which of course Dexter couldn't see because the man was already busy rearranging the pillows and bolsters.

"You keep your distance from me!" Again. Dexter warned Lynelle.

Is Dexter now starting to worry and be afraid of haunting spirits like Lynelle? If YES, that's really cute!

Mischievously, Lynelle instead put on a straight face. Her pale lips made Dexter suddenly shiver. "W-what happened to you? Want to change shape?"

Without saying a word, Lynelle shook her head slowly with the same expression on her face-scary.

"I just want to say. If you want to change into a scary form, just do it tomorrow! I memorized various prayers. But I'm tired of facing you."

"HAHHAHA!" Lynelle's loud laughter suddenly made Dexter's usually quiet room come alive and created a new warm atmosphere.

"Damn! I won't be afraid of a ghost like you. Remember that!"

"Yes, yes. I believe you, Dexter."

Even though Dexter ignored Lynelle's words just now. But Lynelle still remembered what she had just said to Dexter.

Yes, the girl believes in Dexter today, tomorrow, and indefinitely. Until Lynelle finds out his true identity.

Lynelle will always be with Dexter. Because only Dexter can communicate with spirits like him.
