She fell for a LYCAN Chapter 1 Freya's pov

Freya's POV

I saw a different version of myself-a better one and a happy girl who just turned twenty-every now and then. The reflection on the mirror told me so and I believed it. A nice figure stared back at me whenever I saw the lady I had become. Not that I ate the most delicious meal or wore the nicest clothes because my parents barely got by. But I just wasn't the sad girl anymore and I think adding more years to my age has made all the difference.

Most girls in my shoes would be sad. I clocked eighteen two years ago and am still considered a human because the wolf in me decided to stay put. My sister, Neonata, already basked herself in her werewolf senses. I saw her bones break into pieces and grey fur sprouting all over her body on the night of her eighteenth birthday-the custom.

But fuck her, and fuck the wolf thing. I don't give a damn about any tradition. Maybe the wolf is not ready show up, is what I always told myself but one thing is certain: I am far from being sad.

Not now. Not even in the nearest future, or so I thought.

My green eyes glared as I steadied myself before the mirror. They glowed with more intensity. The slim figure fits perfectly with the glowing skin and I can't help but marvel at how much height I have put on. With the white gown dripping down my slim figure, nobody would dare think that we sometimes struggle to eat. They would think I am either the Alpha's daughter or the Beta's since I only hangout with the hottest guy in the park.

Tobias.

We don't just hangout. He and I became an item few days after my arrival-a day or two I guess-and we immediately registered our presence within the four walls of Chemora, the biggest and most powerful werewolf park. Of course I knew the unusual combination would draw envy, but I thought rules are meant to broken. Besides, fuck the damn rules. Rules are meant to broken, and who say a peasant can't be with a high-born?

Fuck the rules.

My feet steadied on the high heels as I gazed at my reflection for another round. I have been doing this for what seemed like fifteen minutes now and each time I gazed, my eyes only saw a more beautiful version of myself.

This is definitely not the sad girl. No way.

"Don't be late!" my mom's voice rang out, cutting the little trance I was having with my reflection. Am not a kid, and hates people telling me what and what not to do but my mom still needed to remind her twenty year old daughter not stay out late in the party being hosted by Tobias even though she knew I won't listen to her plea. To her, the park is unsafe especially at a time when there Lycans are being expected.

They are coming two days from now and party is just way to prepare the park, and most especially the ladies for their arrival.

To be frank, her words pissed me off as I rolled my eyed, my reflection staring back at me the whole time. Am not the two years old she use to scold for spilling food on the wriggling table, neither am I the ten year old girl who got slapped in front of a guy.

Yes. I still remember that day. I received a hot slap on my left cheek when a guy landed an innocent kiss on it. Maybe she thought I wasn't old enough but what pained me the most was the fact that my dad couldn't come to my rescue.

He just stood there and watched his poor daughter being yelled at.

Either way, I answered so she could be at ease.

"Yes mom!" I replied. She needed to hear my voice to know her daughter had heard her words but obeying is a different thing entirely. I roamed my eyes all over the mirror one more time.

Perfect

Mom always seem to forget that the man who stole my heart is not only one the strongest but next in line to become the Alpha of Chemora-our park. He would carry me back home if need be. Besides, my parents are already use to seeing him around though the fifty-five years old man who called himself my father don't like him. I tried asking why but nothing tangible came forth so I just let the old man with his emotions. I always feel he loved his second daughter more than me. We barely spoke, and what I loved were always what he hated but that's his cup of tea.

I glanced at my watch. Almost time. The small pink bag which I got for a birthday gift carefully hung from my left hand as I made my way to the sitting room.

With the way I dressed and how excited I am, no one would imagine this girl ever lived here. There is just no way. The room wasn't big. In fact, it was nowhere near big. A rat-infested refrigerator stood at a left corner-dad couldn't fix the damn thing for months now and rats now saw it as a breeding environment. The chairs looked like the were made five centuries ago but I still manage to sleep on them even though they cause my body to ache. And the floor finish stared through the worn out portion of the carpet that looked like its been laid for a thousand years.

But that didn't matter as I took in the sight. I was going to a party and now isn't the time to entertain such negative thoughts. My lazy father who couldn't get a job for the past two and a half year is to be blamed. Not me. Am doing all I can with the job at the restaurant but I guess my best is not good enough.

I shoved the thoughts aside before pulling the door open. Its creaking nature notified all who walked through but that wasn't a problem compared to what I saw outside.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

The day she walked free, the world trembled. A convoy of luxury cars lined the road. A legion of loyal followers awaited her triumphant return. Her father tried to buy her silence with money. But money had long lost its power over her. Her adopted sister hid behind sweet words and false kindness. But empty smiles no longer fooled her. Everything that had once been stolen would be reclaimed—piece by piece. When her parents attempted to tie themselves to the city's most feared man by offering their adopted daughter, Hayley's lips curved into a cold smirk. "Not on my watch." Backed by a legendary hacker, shadowy allies, and an entire prison willing to burn the world for her, Hayley dismantled her enemies with terrifying precision. Then the tyrant noticed her. "You're interesting," he said. "Be my woman, and the city is yours." Hayley raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You want to own me? Survive me first." High society became their battlefield. Power collided with desire. Ambition clashed with obsession. In this ruthless game of dominance and temptation, only one would kneel first. The girl once abandoned in hell rose from its ashes, crowned by fire and vengeance—And in the end, even the most feared ruler in the city would bow, offering his empire to the woman who had conquered both hell… and him.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
