SWITCHED By Our Mates Chapter 1 Calvin POV

Chapter 52: Calvin POV

Alpha Milo was determined to get to the bottom of this shit, or at least get us back. Truth be told, I was dying to screw my girl up. It is the worst news in the world to not be able to fuck your switched soul mate on the girl I had a crush on. I actually wanted to do that.

But no, the universe hates me for having my man dreams become a reality. Son of a bitch, this is the biggest cock blocker ever.

Grumbling to myself over the amount of fuck given to me even as an Alpha, I hear my father-in-law speak out.

"I don't want either one of you shifting while you have changed bodies; the reason being that your souls can stay stuck if you do that. Just ride on my wolf. I know I'm going to need Calvin to act like Stan in the council while Stan helps me get the damn rose, and while we are in it, destroy the rest of them, but for that, we are going to need one major ingredient. I will get the wolfbane, which ironically is in the same building only above where the roses are, ready?"

We both stopped as we heard his plan; it sounded really easy, but there was one big problem with his plan: how the hell was he going to be able to do that when everything in that council would be heavily guarded?

Stan looked concerned at what I was hoping was the same shit as me until he said

"How do you expect this to really happen? We have no scheduled appointments with them.

I let out a breath of relief; at the very least, this idiot for an Alpha isn't that ignorant. But it also left me wondering why we would be discreet about these assholes; wasn't it them that got us into this mess? Alpha Milo did exhale harshly as he replied to us in a no-nonsense tone.

"Listen, I get they act like pretty little bitches, but they have zero grounds when it's an ambush of convenience. This is a war that has been happening for years, but now it's going public, whether they want it or not. As Alpha, you should have known that, or are you still latching to your mom's breast there, Alpha Stan?"

I was not holding on to my laugh at the smack Alpha Milo just served Stan. Oh, this was beautiful. Fuck, this was priceless. I wish I had come up with that one. Oh, this is good.

Annoyed Stan looked back at me, giving me the deadliest glare my expression can give, and damn do I look angry. This is still so fucking confusing. I wonder if I can look like that angry at my mate. The images of fucking her while still in Stan's body came to mind, and my annoyance grew tenfold.

Letting out a breath, I closed my eyes to calm down when Alpha Milo asked me, "You are Gamma Calvin, right?"

I open one eye to reply to him, "Yes, and I'm aware I'm not fit to do the job of an Alpha, but to be honest, both things don't have a good resolution. They need a good amount of exposure to allow changes to happen Not just anyone can get their attention, but if you show yours, there's a real possibility." I open my other eye as I swear my eyes were playing a joke on me.

But nope, Alpha Milo was actually smiling in pride at me. This was freaking me out a little. What did I do? I looked at Alpha Stan praying with my fearful eyes to help me out. If this was a result of his pranking, if this Alpha is a funny guy in putting lower ranks as their sacrifice, I'm going to hang myself.

"You sell yourself short there; something tells me the goddess decided to punish one of you or both of you, but I will be honest, it stinks that you aren't Alpha; you behave better than Alpha Stan does, to be honest."

Those words made Stan give my exact expression of being dumbfounded. I had no idea the expression on my face, but I do know I am really nervous, and insulting the Alpha of my pack is next to death-the worst thing that could have ever happened.

But now that I think about it, it was basically one Alpha vs. another Alpha. Wait, hold up, that's a damn good ass question. As we kept running to the council's estate, I asked Alpha Milo.

"Just to be on the same side, you are Alpha of the Fountain Pack, right?"

Alpha Milo shouted from a bit of a head at me.

"Yes! And you can definitely be Alpha of the Gold Pack! You have my blessing!"

That made both Stan and me stop running to jog behind Alpha Milo. As we tried to shake off what Alpha Milo said, I was not sure how I felt about this change, but then Stan spoke.

"Maybe being a beta would be helpful to know how you can handle the title? You do have some qualities if you can handle gold."

From feeling shocked and surprised, I'm now annoyed at fuck at this jerk; he really can be a prick, I replied while picking up speed.

"You are a real piece of shit for an Alpha, your a sick fucker who can't have a single fucking thought to be supportive for shit, your not a real Alpha, at least not to me, and clearly I'm a way better Gamma than you can even hope to become, when your done insulting me for being with my fated mate then we can talk."

I run pass him, catching up to Alpha Milo, during this I get a mind link from Stan.

'Seriously sorry about that, guess I felt your a rival now, and our mates favorite from what how he has been acting, I though I had a clear shot at being the favorite but I guess I'm not.'

It didn't take us long to arrive, we had all ran in our wolves speed, arriving we saw the gates, but I didn't saw Alpha Milo, looking around me I get another mind link form Stan.

'I met Alpha Milo, we are entering the building, make Alpha Milo proud by putting the council as the culprits of this shit show.'

Letting myself feel in control of myself I walk in front of the place. This was a revolution, a war that we had the advantage, and my mate wasn't going to pay for this shit. Stepping out of the woods the front guards walked towards us to which they asked.

"Aloha Stan, we have word that one of the Elder Council's mates, Madam Precious is missing, have you come to give word to the rest of the council members?"

Hearing their question, I composed myself to reply in a form tone.

"Not necessarily, but I am in need of meeting the council, let me in, or be ready to have me."

The guards didn't try to fight back, instead they gave me the entry, this was weird, weren't they all going to fight me or something?

Maybe my best choice is to keep my eyes open, and on my toes, going inside I saw the big four floors of the building turn on. Inside I'm met with an omega I have seen at the fountain pack, she was not paying me much attention but I did decide to close my eyes and act like I was relaxing when I mind link Stan.

'Tell Alpha Milo there are changes, they have Ben told Council Mate Precious is missing, and there are omegas that work on the council building from the Fountain Pack.'

Opening my eyes another omega walked in to say.

"Alpha Stan, let me take you to the waiting room, the council are waking up, and getting ready to meet with you, please follow me."

We had a small wall to what seemed like a meeting room it was cream, with a wooden table, and chairs, there were some snacks while I waited but nothing prepared me for the inevitable encounter with Sophy.

I may not be very well informed of who Sophy is, but my mate had told me what she did, and I'm more then sure she is not here to be friendly, she was hissing inside the room above the air filters, I look to my left to see there was an umbrella with the j grip on the handle, without warning her of my actions I took the umbrella then looked up to poke with the handle of the umbrella the second I saw her leg I ya keep her leg with the grip of the umbrella making her fall to the ground, and like a professional umbrella knocker I broke the umbrella after hitting her in the head with it.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.
