Vet Dr. Taylor, is a compassionate animal lover whose life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers that the injured dog she cared for after a fatal accident is, in fact, a werewolf. This revelation not only challenges her dedication to animal care but places her in the middle of a fight where the supernatural clashes with the ordinary. As she puts together the complexities of this new found reality, she finds herself torn between her passion for animals and the unforeseen challenges presented by an unforgiving wolf pack.

Chapter 1 Chap

Mark sped down the road, one hand on the wheel and the other resting on the windowsill.

A toothpick hanging from his mouth dangling from left to right unrythmically.

Taylor knew this was his way of blowing off steam without speaking, so she just let him do his thing while she stared at the trees.

She too didn't like how he frequently had to get her from work so late at night, but she couldn't help it. A pregnant dog needed her help, and she couldn't postpone its delivery.

Smiling, she recalled the little puppies that the dog had birthed. The guilt she felt for Mark seemingly evaporated.

Spitting out his toothpick, Mark was finally ready to speak. "What are you smiling about?"

Now noticing she was smiling, Taylor turned to him with a straight face. "I'm sorry, it's just..."

"It's just what, Taylor?" He cut in. "Don't you know the meaning of work hours?"

"You get me so worried, I'd have to come get you from work myself!" Mark spoke at the top of his voice while his eyes occasionally moved from the road to Taylor's sorry-looking face.

"All for the sake of those animals!" He spoke knowing fully well that Taylor hated it when he referred to them with such disdain.

"What happens when we have kids?! I'm not sure I can get married to someone as irresponsible as you!" He spoke and became silent feeling that he'd said the wrong thing.

Upon hearing this Taylor's brows furrowed. "Irresponsible?!" She repeated.

"How's saving lives irresponsible?" Taylor spoke tearing up.

"Lives?! You... You just!" He stepped on the gas pedal harder, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the steering wheel tightly.

Seeing how fast they were going, Taylor held onto her seat, "You going to get us killed, Mark!"

He immediately turned to her "At least then...."

"Watch out!" Taylor screamed and Mark subconsciously stepped on the breaks.

With a screech, the car came to a stop, but not after colliding against something.

"What was that?!" Mark asked as he stretched over the steering wheel to see what was hit.

Taylor quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door.

"Where are you going?" He asked alarmed, surprise Taylor dared open the door.

"You hit an animal!" She said concerned as she walked to the front of the car.

"An animal? Do you know what...?" His eyes widened as he began to sweat, looking at Taylor.

"Get in, Taylor!" He yelled unsure what to do.

On seeing its tail and hairy back, Taylor quickly rushed back to the car.

"What's it?" Mark asked ready to start driving.

"It's a dog!" She announced as she picked up her kit from the back of the car.

"So?!" Mark opened his hands agitated.

"I'm going to save it!" She said sternly looking at him and walking towards the front of the car.

Before she could get there, the dog bolted into the woods. With her kit, she chased after it.

"Taylor!" Mark yelled as he unbuckled his seatbelt.

She stood in at the edge of the road staring into the woods.

"Taylor, come back!" Mark yelled still too scared to open the door to get down.

"Taylor!" He yelled again.

"What?!" She yelled back with tears in her eyes.

"No animal can survive that impact. Are you happy? You just killed a dog!" She yelled at him.

Staring stupified, Mark looked at her wondering how and why he was ever attracted to her because of her passion for animals. Had he known she was this crazy, he never would have taken things further.

She picked out some pills from her kit and walked into the bushes gently.

"Tay!" Mark who was almost crying in confusion called. On one hand, he was angry at her and on the other he was worried.

She stopped and placed the pills on the floor making several weird sounds with her mouth.

After standing there for a few seconds she turned and was about to walk back to the car when something caught her skirt.

Shocked she turned back and found a branch stuck to it. In an attempt to get the skirt out of the branch, it tore, revealing a small of her lap.

Seeing this, Mark hit his forehead annoyed but unsure what to say.

With a sigh, she aggressively walked back into the car.

Mark just continued to stare at her, not sure how to express himself.

"Drive!" She said not even looking at his face.

After a sigh, he stepped on the gas pedal and they were back on the road.

Staring at the leaving car, a figure stepped out of the bushes holding a red piece of cloth in one hand and some pills in another.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

One Night With My Billionaire Boss

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.
