Chapter 1 Prologue

<>

The light Elven kingdom belonging to a realm...Álfheimr, overseen by the god Freyr, has been standing for over a thousand years and been a place for me to call home for almost a hundred years now. Home to the Ljósálfar ("Light Elves") creatures beautifully crafted and fairer than the sun to look at, embraced and loved by nature as they go about their lives in harmony and have shown to be peaceful, friendly, happy beings with few if any weapons but sorry to say that had been the lives of our ancestors.

Since it is believed that the world is a big tree divided into realms, being a race that belongs to one of the Nine Realms and exists on the highest level of the World Tree, the capital city being Ljosalfgard is quite known for it's peaceful yet ruthless ways.

Long gone were the days when everything that mattered to we elves was a peaceful and harmonious life, just living to serve our purpose and worship our gods. Now there's war, there's fight for power, strong and strategize defenses to bring victory while our high and respected Elf authorities sit and bask in the glory of the deaths of many, even one of their own.

Back in those thousands of years...

After humans were created, the gods created Asgard with its high walls for protection...Asgard, at the first level of Norse Cosmology, is home to the Aesir and was ruled by King Odin, the All-Father, ruler of the nine realms. It is described as a celestial city with high towers and surrounded by a great, but incomplete wall and contains some very important places in Norse mythology.

Álfheimr a heavenly world, my world, ruled over by Freyr, the twin brother of Freya and another of the Vanir gods populated by Light Elves.

Niðavellir (Dark Fields), world of the dwarves was also known as Svartálfheimr (Dark Worlds) and its occupants the black elves, our sworn immortal enemies.

Midgard was and still is the realm of the human beings in Norse mythology known as the least advanced planet of the Nine-Realms as they are the only planet who are unaware that they are not alone.

Jötunheimr (sometimes referred to as Útgarðr) was the realm of the giants and Frost Giants and was located near both Asgard and Midgard. It was ruled by Laufey and due to the rowdy nature of the giants, Jötunheimr was described in the myths as a place that was rife with turmoil and was separated from Asgard by the river Iving, which never freezes over and was incredibly difficult to cross.

Vanaheim was the dwelling place and home of the Vanir, the other family of Norse gods, who were associated with fertility, future, and the ability to see the future. The realm was known for its rivers and very calm atmosphere.

Niflheim, along with Muspelheim, was the oldest of the nine realms, the primordial land of ice, mist, and snow, from whence all life began and was popularly known as the birthplace of ice giants like Ymir, it was the realm of the dishonored dead, ruled by Hel.

Muspelheim, along with Nilfheim, was the oldest of the Norse worlds in Norse cosmology. It was a world of primordial fire filled with lava, flames and soot, home of the Fire Demons and was ruled by Surtur. The Realm of Flame Jotuns, the fiery ones. Burning tar pits and boiling deserts of super-heated sand filled this realm.

Helheim is the realm of the dead, and was ruled by Hel, Queen of the dead. Hel was the daughter of Loki, Norse trickster deity. It was where the dead who died in dishonor go when they pass. It was home to thieves, murderers, and those not brave enough for Valhalla (Valhöll)..."hall of the fallen", the counterpart of Paradise.

Light elves were divine immortal creatures but so were the Dökkálfar ("Dark Elves") commonly known as drow, supernatural beings that resided in the underworld of Svartálfheim, belonging to the Dungeons and Dragons multivers, especially in the worlds of the Greyhawk, the forgotten Realms and Eberron.

Dark Elves belonged to the Dunmer race, were naturally resistant to fire and could call upon their Ancestors Wrath to surround themselves in fire as well as known to have both great fear and were revolted by driders (sexless bloodthirsty beings) with Shiväisith being their native language.

The Eldar were divided into three clans−the Vanyar (Initially known as the minyar meaning fair elves with golden-blond hair), the Noldor (~Deep Elves~Initially known as Tatyar and migrated from the west known to have deep knowledge of crafts and skills) and the Teleri (the third of the Elf clans who took the Great Journey. To them belonged the Valinorean Teleri (known as the Falmari), and the Sindar, Laiquendi, and Nandor of Middle-earth. At first they were known as Nelyar ("The Third"), and were the largest of the three houses of the Firstborn.) All of the Vanyar and Noldor reached Aman whereas two groups of Teleri abandoned the Great Journey: the Nandor, who came to live in the Vale of Anduin, and the Sindar, who remained in Beleriand.

There were numerous different subraces and subcultures of elves, including aquatic elves, deep elves (Rockseer), grey elves, snow elves, sun elves, valley elves, wild elves (Grugach), wood elves and winged elves (Avariel).

Elves were and still are immune to all diseases and could recover from wounds which would normally kill a mortal man. Nonetheless, Elves could be physically slain or die of grief and weariness.

I wasn't born to any Elf kingdom, not that I remember any, but I was found, to the kingdom of Lórien also known as the Golden Wood, a hidden land in the Realm of elves located in the Western Wilderland with the Capital Caras Galadhon and was ruled by king Amroth.

I do hope I haven't confused anyone because I also do know nothing deep about mythological creatures or their history and this was all mostly Google searched, just felt like I had to paint this historical picture before we jumped into the main story line. Thanks again for giving this story a chance.👋❤
