The Last Voyage
Captain James Carter had always dreamed of sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. He had spent years saving up for his own ship, a sturdy vessel named the Endeavour. He had hired a loyal crew of experienced sailors, and he had prepared for every possible scenario. He was ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
But fate had other plans for him. On the day of his departure, a fierce storm swept over the port of Liverpool, delaying his voyage by several hours. He decided to wait until the weather cleared, hoping that it was a sign of good luck. He was wrong.
As soon as he set sail, he encountered another obstacle: a band of pirates. They had been lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to strike. They attacked the Endeavour with cannons and muskets, hoping to loot its cargo and take its crew hostage. Captain Carter fought back bravely, but he was outnumbered and outgunned. He watched in horror as his ship was boarded and his men were slaughtered. He managed to escape with a few survivors, but he knew it was only a matter of time before the pirates caught up with them.
He had one last hope: a small island that he had spotted on his map. It was marked as uncharted, but he hoped that it would offer some refuge and resources. He steered the Endeavour towards it, praying that it was not a mirage.
He reached the island just as the sun was setting. He anchored the ship near the shore, and ordered his men to gather some supplies and weapons. He planned to explore the island the next day, and look for a way to contact civilization. He hoped that someone would come to their rescue.
But he was not alone on the island. As he and his men slept, they were watched by a pair of curious eyes. They belonged to a young girl, who had lived on the island for as long as she could remember. She had never seen anyone like them before. She wondered who they were, and what they were doing there.
She decided to approach them the next morning, hoping to make contact. She was not afraid of them, for she had nothing to lose. She had no family, no friends, no home. She had only herself, and the island. She had learned to survive on her own, by hunting, fishing, and gathering. She had also learned to avoid the dangers of the island, such as the wild animals, the poisonous plants, and the mysterious ruins.
She had always wondered about the ruins. They were scattered all over the island, and they looked very old and strange. They had strange symbols and shapes, and they seemed to have a power of their own. She had felt it many times, a tingling sensation that ran through her body whenever she touched them. She had also heard voices, whispering in a language that she did not understand. She had tried to ignore them, but they had grown louder and more insistent over time. They seemed to be calling her, urging her to do something. But she did not know what.
She was about to find out. As she approached the ship, she saw the captain and his men waking up. They looked surprised and scared when they saw her. They pointed their guns at her, and shouted at her. She did not understand their words, but she understood their tone. They were hostile, and they did not want her there.
She raised her hands, and tried to show them that she meant no harm. She smiled, and tried to say hello. But they did not lower their guns, or their voices. They kept shouting, and threatening. They seemed to think that she was a threat, or a spy, or a witch.
She felt a surge of anger, and fear. She did not like being treated this way. She did not like being misunderstood. She did not like being alone.
She felt something else, too. A familiar tingling sensation, that grew stronger and stronger. She heard the voices, louder and clearer than ever. They spoke to her, and she spoke back. They told her what to do, and she obeyed.
She closed her eyes, and focused. She felt a connection, a bond, a link. She felt the power, the energy, the force. She felt the island, and the island felt her.
She opened her eyes, and unleashed it.
A blast of light and sound erupted from her, and spread across the island. It shook the ground, and tore the sky. It reached the ruins, and activated them. It reached the ship, and destroyed it. It reached the captain and his men, and consumed them.
She was the last one standing.
She looked around, and saw nothing but fire and smoke. She smelled nothing but blood and ash. She heard nothing but silence and screams.
She had done it. She had answered the call. She had fulfilled her destiny.
She had no idea what it was.
She had no idea what she had done.
She had no idea what would happen next.
She only knew one thing.
She was alone.
