"Don't tell me you don't want this, Damon. How can you deny our bond?" Clary said. "We both know we are meant to be together. You can't fight it forever. We both know that we are mates." "No, don't say it; it's not possible." Damon said it with a wince. "You know we can't be together, and I don't want this, Clary. I don't want you." "I Damon William's an Alpha with royal blood is rejecting you, Clary. Goodbye.". "No! Please don't do this, Damon. Please, I will wait for you all my life. How can you do this to me? You are rejecting me just because I am mixed blood, just because I am not a royal blood Omega." Clary growled; her Omega is hurting from inside. "Don't say it, Clary," Damon said with a wince. "You know we can't be together! Do you think I don't want this? That every cell of my entire body isn't fighting to get to you? That it doesn't rip my heart out to walk away from you, from what we could be? We... can't...were from two different worlds." "We are not Damon." "No, we can't; you're mixed blood, and I'm a true Alpha. You know it's not allowed. If we mate, then another war will start. Remember the curse, Clary." Damon said as he stared at the floor, unable to look his mate in the eye. "Then you should know, I will not give up," Clary said, staring her Alpha in the eye when Damon's head snapped up. "You and me, Damon, we are both going to change the stupid rule, and we are going to show them the stupid curse does not exist in the very first place." Damon and Clary came from two different worlds. Damon came from a royal family where true Alpha, Beta, and Omega were born (they are basically the original's). Their blood is not mixed with humans' and other spices. And Clary is mixed-blood, Omega. According to royal rules, they can't mate with mixed blood, even if it turns out to be their mate. There was a war between them whenever they tried to mate, and that's why their ancestor started calling their mating curse, the curse which Moon Goodness gave them herself. It's really true? Or just a made-up story so they can protect the family legacy. Clary will do anything to know the truth. What about Damon? Did he ever accept Clary as his mate? And what happens when he sees what exactly happens to those who reject their mate for the sake of their legacy? "We will protect them all, and we will protect our love. From now on, no one will get hurt in the name of legacy."

My Own Alpha Reject Me Chapter 1 Damon

Damon stared down at the text message on his phone for the third time, frowning as he read the words from his boss. He threw it on his desk, leaned back in his chair, and scrubbed his hands over his eyes. She couldn't be serious! He sat up with a sigh and stared around at his new office, wondering what the hell he'd gotten himself into.

He thought back to the conversation he'd had with Jasmine James.

"We need somebody for both positions; you're more than qualified for them," Jasmine said as she poured the tea.

"What exactly is going on in the city?" Damon asked as he took the cup from her hands, holding his hand up when she offered him the small jug of milk.

"It's a mess; I had no choice but to remove the head; he was running the station into the ground," Jasmine said with a sigh. "It's all-out war, Damon," she said, placing her cup on her desk and leaning forward, her head in her hands.

"When was the last time you got any sleep?" Damon asked, concerned for his friend. She looked tired, as if she hadn't slept in weeks. "You're taking on too much. You need to delegate; you're going to make yourself ill if you continue to worry like this," he said, resting his hand on top of hers on the desk and giving it a quick squeeze. As an Alpha female, if it had been anyone else that had made that move, she would have torn their hands clean off. Only the fact that they had been friends for fifteen years saved his hand.

"Damon, I'm the leader of our Royal Wolf community; it's my job to worry," Jasmine said with a tired smile. "What am I supposed to do? I have no inquisitor and nobody to run the city station. On top of that, I have a war with the mixed-blood Wolf's and other creatures on all fronts; none of their leaders will meet with me, and I have the Royal Wolf trying to revolt and come for my job at every turn," she said, scrubbing her hands through her hair in a very uncharacteristic show of frustration.

"Ha, I'd pay to watch that!" Damon said with a grin, "You would annihilate anyone that came at you. You are the leader for a reason, Jasmine; there isn't a single royal wolf that can best you in combat or an Alpha that would stand a chance against you," he said with a chuckle.

"Damon, I could activate every cell on my body, and I still wouldn't have a hope in hell against you," Jasmine said as she stared at him incredulously. "We both know you can put me on my ass with three moves; I'm only the leader because you refused it," she said with a grin at the expression on his face.

"Am I in charge of the entire community?" Damon asked with a shudder of horror, "It was bad enough heading up the multitude of stations I've already had to deal with; you think I want to be responsible for the entire tribe of idiots? Internal politics, squabbling Alphas, and a dagger in the back at every turn? No thanks; you can keep it. I have enough power within the leadership as it is; I don't want any more," he said, chuckling when she just rolled her eyes at him.

"I have a suggestion, if I may?" Damon said as he set his cup aside, having finally come to a decision. "Why don't you make Jack the new leader? You know he's fair and respected by just about everyone. He chafes at being stuck in another city, and he would make a powerful ally," he said.

"He wants the position less than you do," Jasmine said, her eyebrows practically in her hairline. "I asked him already, and he flat-out refused," she said with a frown.

"That's why he would be perfect; he's probably the only one aside from me that won't come for your job," Damon said. "Anyway, that was six months ago; a lot of things can change in six months," he said with a wink, pouring himself a second cup before topping Jasmine's cup up.

"If you are referring to that... debacle with the werewolf and Valeria Ravencroft..." Jasmine said, the cogs starting to turn in her head as she thought about how to entice him into accepting the position.

"Just order Jack to accept," Damon said, reading her thoughts on her face. "That way he can save face; you have an inquisitor, and Jack can escape his problems," he said, laughing as she sat there, practically rubbing her hands at the idea.

"Thank you, Damon; I knew there was a reason we were friends," she said as she pulled her phone out and fired off a quick text to Jack, ordering him back to the Gard. "Wait, if Jack takes the inquisitor position, who's going to take over the SA station?" she asked, almost slamming her head against her desk as a whole pile of new worries settled over her. She couldn't stop the growl that rumbled through her chest.

"I don't envy your job." Damon chuckled. "Jenny has been chomping at the bit for a promotion. I think she's ready, and she's already there. Make her the head and Ally her second. They might as well run it together," he said, grinning when Jasmine's head shot up.

"I need a mated pair," Jasmine said, the Alpha in her tone clear as her frustration slipped through the cracks of her self-control. "The rest of them won't follow anyone but an Alpha and Omega that are mated! You did a great job, Damon, but without the right leadership, the station will revert to what it was before you dealt with them," she said.

"Haven't you heard?" Damon asked, surprise coloring his tone when he saw the question on her face. "Mike claimed Emma last month; she's already pregnant. How have you not heard? If there's one thing the Royals like more than bickering and squabbling with mixed blood wolves, it's gossiping," he said, both of them bursting into fits of laughter at his understatement.

"They gossip like old female wolves!" Jasmine said, howling. "Thanks to Luna, we were shoved into training together. I don't know what I would do without you, Damon. You've saved my ass yet again," Jasmine said, wiping the tears from her eyes before fixing her gaze on him. "Does this mean what I think it means?" she asked him hopefully.

"You need a mated pair for SA but not Nigaland?" Damon asked her, reigning his expression in and shutting down his internal wince when he reminded himself that he hadn't found a mate yet. How do you get to the age of twenty-eight and not find your mate? He asked himself bitterly. He had accepted that he would be one of those Alphas whose other half was lost to them and that he or she must have died. You do not get to his age and not find your mate, especially if you are as widely traveled as him. Everyone he had grown up with had already been mated for ten years, and here he was, doomed to spend his life alone. He had accepted it, but that didn't mean the thought didn't shatter his heart into a thousand pieces and scrape at his soul like a rusty blade.

"Mike and Jenny are barely out of training. They might have the potential to become great leaders, but they need each other if they are to keep that rabble under control," Jasmine said, leaning back in her chair and folding her arms as she studied her oldest friend. "Whereas you could take on half of the Nigaland station on your own and walk away without a scratch. You're a powerful Alpha, Damon; you don't need a Beta or an Omega to run that place," she said, watching as he sat ramrod straight in his chair, his face an emotionless void. She hated it when he closed himself off like that, something he did far too often.

"Don't underestimate yourself, my friend," Jasmine said when she saw a sad frown crack his hardened exterior. "You earned the respect of even the most hardened Wolf veterans when you overhauled the other station. If it weren't for you, it would have been all-out war with the mixed-bloos wolf. That's why I need you there; they are a mess. And who knows, maybe you will find your mate in Nigaland," she said gently, watching his shoulders slump as his face crumpled for a second. He reigned it in, but not before she saw it. It broke her heart that if anyone deserved to be happy, it was Damon.

"You're far too shrewd for my own good," Damon said with a sigh. "I'll take it on one condition: you pull my best friend from the London station and promote her to my second. It's been far too long since we've been together, and I've missed her. If I'm to take on that shower of shite, I'm going to need her, just for the comic relief if nothing else," he said with a chuckle. "You owe me this much, Jasmine; if I hadn't been stuck in Australia for the last year, we would have been together, as it should be. She's my best friend," he said.

"Done!" she said, pulling her phone out and firing off another text. She waited a moment, smiling when she read the reply. "It's going to take her a week to find someone to take over her combat training classes, but after that, Moni is all yours," she said, grinning at the first true smile she had seen from him in a long time.

"Excellent!" Damon said, jumping to his feet and making his way over to the secret drink stash she kept in the cabinet behind her desk. "May we celebrate by getting extremely inebriated?" he inquired as he closed the door with a swung of the doorknob with one hip. He was holding a couple of bottles in his hand.

"Only if you make me one of your martinis," Jasmine said, laughing when he spun around, a bottle of Gin in one hand and a bottle of vodka in the other.

I lived as the "scarred ghost" of the Stephens penthouse, a wife kept in the shadows because my facial burns offended my billionaire husband’s aesthetic. For years, I endured Kason’s coldness and my family's abuse, a submissive puppet who believed she had nowhere else to go. The end came with a blue folder tossed onto my silk sheets. Kason’s mistress was back, and he wanted me out by sunset, offering a five-million-dollar "silence fee" to go hide my face in the countryside. The betrayal cut deep when I discovered my father had already traded my divorce for a corporate bailout. My step-sister mocked my "trashy" appearance at a high-end boutique, while the sales staff treated me like a common thief. At home, my father threatened to cut off my mother's life-saving medicine unless I crawled back to Kason to beg for a better deal. I was the girl who took the blame for a fire she didn't start, the wife who worshipped a man who never looked her in the eye, and the daughter used as a human bargaining chip. I was supposed to be broken, penniless, and desperate. But the woman who stood up wasn't the weak Elease Finch anymore; she was Phoenix, a tactical predator with a $500 million secret. I signed the divorce papers without a single tear, walked past my stunned husband, and wiped the Finch family's bank accounts clean with a few taps on my phone. "Your money is dirty," I told Kason with a cold smile. "I prefer clean hands." The cage is open, the hunt has begun, and I’m starting with the people who thought a scar made me weak.

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

I arrived at my uncle’s mansion looking like human trash, clutching a one-way bus ticket and a duffel bag stuffed with old newspaper. My aunt looked at me with pure disgust, as if she could smell the poverty on my skin, but they needed me for one thing: to be a sacrificial lamb. They told me I was getting married to Julian Sterling, a man the elite circles called a violent monster locked in a cage. My uncle forced me to sign away my soul to save their failing fortune, while my cousin Kayla laughed and threw a torn dress at my feet, calling me a "rat from the Rust Belt." At the Sterling estate, the nightmare only deepened. Julian’s stepmother treated me like a horse she was forced to buy, ordering the staff to "burn off" my hair before locking me in the West Wing. I was thrown into a padded cell with a man who lunged at me, his heavy chains rattling against the floor as he roared with an animalistic rage that had already killed two nurses. They thought I was a pathetic, uneducated girl who "didn't read so good." They didn't know I had extorted two million dollars from my uncle before walking out the door, or that I was secretly recording every slap and insult they threw at me for future leverage. I huddled in the corner of that dark cell, letting them watch me tremble on the security feeds. I let Julian’s sister strike me with a riding crop and splash water in my face, playing the role of the clumsy, sobbing idiot to perfection. But the moment the cameras looped, the scared girl vanished. I pinned the "monster" to the floor, cut the neural tracking chip out of his neck with a hidden scalpel, and whispered into his ear as his blue eyes finally cleared. They thought they were sending a lamb to the slaughter. They had no idea they were sending a wolf to hunt a beast.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.

I stood in the darkest corner of the Pierre Hotel’s ballroom, my cheap polyester dress itching against my skin while my wristband buzzed with a DARPA Priority Red alert. In front of the city’s elite, my fiancé Bryce Calloway took the stage, not to toast our future, but to publicly end our engagement and announce he was with my sister, Chloe. The room turned on me instantly, a hundred pairs of eyes pinning me down with pity and disgust as they physically backed away like I was contagious. When I returned home, my mother shattered a crystal vase at my feet, screaming that I was a humiliation and a "dropout" who didn't deserve a cent of the family fortune. Chloe and Bryce mocked me, laughing when I told them I had a mission with the National Security Agency, convinced I was either a pathological liar or a low-level criminal. They watched in horror as a black, unmarked military helicopter descended on our backyard to extract me, yet they still chose to believe I was being arrested for drug trafficking. They saw a pathetic girl who couldn't even parallel park, never realizing I was Dr. Nova Vance, the lead physicist behind the world's first successful fusion reactor. To secure funding for my research and gain a "fortress" of a name, I signed a thirty-day marriage contract with the arrogant billionaire Roman Knight. He treats me like a fraud, convinced I’m a gold-digger who failed out of college, while I quietly run global energy simulations from his guest bedroom. He has no idea that the "loser" he’s forced to live with is the same anonymous grandmaster who has been ruthlessly crushing him in online strategy games for months. "The contract is active," I told him, looking past his expensive suit. "But don't expect me to be your maid."
