Chapter one

Cass POV:

"Cassandra!!!" The shrieking sound peirced my ears and made me jump out of my poverty stricken bed. I would have even preferred sleeping on a tattered mat to this bed of mine. I hurried out of bed as I don't want to receive another slap from my step sister and mom. My face is still sore from the one I received last night

"Yes Tasha I'm here" I said as I walked hurriedly into the sitting room meeting Tasha eating cookies on the couch with a chilled bottle of fizz beside her"good morning Tasha what can I do for you?"I asked her already contemplating her reply "really? Is that even a question? You are asking me what I you can do for me? Now tell me what can you possibly do for me ? Huh? You this good for nothing witch. How I wish you would just visit your misterable parents already and never come back!" She yelled glaring hard at me .

Pardon my manners. My name is Cassandra Hart . I'm an orphan who lost her parents at the tender age of ten in a car accident. Everything used to be well with me until and after that day . I got adopted by Mr Gerald who loved and took care of me like his own very child. His wife Helena and daughter Chloe hate me so much for a reason unknown to me. They treat me so badly like I'm a something so worthy to be loathed . And for some unknown reason I feel they sense me as a threat especially Chloe. The fact that people always complemented me more than her always disgust her and make her hate me the more After I was done with high school Helena refused to send me to college claiming that she sees no reason why I should be educated since I'm worthless . Mr Gerald was against this and sent me to college by himself but unfortunately after a year he died of diabetes and that was how I became a college dropout .
