A story about a young lady and her experience into the other world. Few days to her wedding day, she slipped into a coma that paved way for her encounters in another realm...

Chapter 1 The start of woe

Before I slipped into my unexplainable coma, I saw signs I deliberately ignored, not out of fear but ignorance. I was too excited to take note of silly warnings as I eagerly looked forward to my big day. I was supposed to get married to my heartthrob by the end of the month, but tragedy struck.

I was out shopping with my girls and chatting happily when I saw the first warning. "Juliet, did you see that orange shadow that just passed by the window? I mean it's crazy, it looked like a rolling ball of fire" I asked my bridesmaid

"Hey, girl! I think you are stressed. We can continue our shopping later. We still have like three weeks to get ready. There's nothing there. See?" She said pointing to the crystal clear window.

"Maybe it's my imagination. I've been having a lot of coffee lately. I really need to rest. But, girl, we ain't stopping our shopping, I'm good to go" I responded with a smile. But, at the back of my mind, I kept seeing the shadow over and over again. What shocked me the most was the fact that it was orange in hue. Shadows are always kind of black, not any other hue. I tried my best to forget about it, but it was difficult.

The moment I returned home some minutes past 9pm, I felt a strange energy in my apartment. I waved it off and walked down the corridor to check the blinking light in my kitchen. As I walked, I heard strange whispers of shrieking voices. All I could decipher from it, repeatedly, was "Full moon sacrifice".

"Hello? Is there anyone there?" I asked the empty house, hoping for an answer in return and I was shocked when I got one.

"Yes, yes" answered a raspy voice, like ghostly whispers in the wind, sending shivers down the spine, echoing eerie secrets of the unknown.

I asked my house a question with the expectation of getting a silent response. I stood, frozen to a spot the moment I heard the raspy voice coming from the kitchen. I checked my bag for my pepper spray and luckily, I got one. Though I was shivering with fear, I tiptoed to the kitchen, hoping to see my kitchen turned upside down.

It came to me as a rude shock to see everything intact but the scratching noises from my store persuaded me to move closer and attack whosoever the attacker might be. I had managed to take self defense classes some months back, in case of situations like this.

I was a few steps away from the entrance of the store room when I heard a familiar sound coming from my room. It sounded like a baby monitor and I heard muffled cries of a distressed baby. I was a bit distracted as the familiar rhymes from my childhood days started playing and echoed all over the house. Just that this time, the lyrics were a bit strange and sounded threatening.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little lamb,

How I wonder how you'll sound,

When I slash your pretty eyes,

You will thunder like the sky.

Twinkle, twinkle, sacred lamb,

How I wonder how you'll scream" the song then ended with a loud cackle followed by the whispers "moon night sacrifice"

"Blood of Jesus. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus" I muttered slowly while backing away from the kitchen. I walked with my back turned to the door, since I was too scared to turn around and run. I was so engrossed with the happenings in my apartment that I didn't hear the door open. I became conscious of the presence of another being when I knocked into the person, hard.
