The abandoned son of a wealthy family, a generation of God of War, was forced to become the live-in son-in-law, and endured insult and ridicule for three years. When the memory was restored, and he ruled the world again, everything in the past was reversed...

Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Lord of War

In a restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jacob Nelson carried a basket on his back and walked toward the stall selling water products with crutches in his hands. He was a frequent customer of the market. He would come to buy food almost every day because his mother-in-law liked to eat fresh dishes.

"Is he the cripple from the Kent family?"

"Nowadays, it takes a lot of effort to become a gigolo. He's even willing to marry an ugly woman."

"That girl from the Kent family isn't that bad, right? She has so many freckles though."

"If I were him, I would marry her too. Otherwise, how could a cripple like him live the rest of his life?"

"Shh, quiet down. We can't afford to offend the Kent family!"

A few people were whispering in the distance.

Jacob was used to the gossip, but today he felt a little different because these voices sounded very clear.

At the same time, he felt his legs warm up, and two auras began to circulate in his legs at the same time.

Jacob's heart beat fast, and he quickly moved a little. He discovered that his legs were full of strength, and he seemed to be able to walk without crutches.

Then, the hidden memories appeared in his mind.

"I finally restored my memories!

"The meridians in my legs are finally getting better!"

Jacob became excited.

For the past three years, he couldn't remember anything from the past, but now he remembered everything!

Jacob was the second son of the Nelson family, a top family in Washington. In the fierce competition for the heir, he was framed by his brother and was kicked out of the family by the Nelson family's head.

Because of a coincidence, not long after Jacob was kicked out of the family, he was taken in as a disciple by a mysterious old man. Later, he joined the Special Forces and became the Lord of War.

Jacob made a mistake in a mission and was injured. Then he lost his legs and his memory. In the end, he somehow came to Memphis.

When Jacob was in dire straits, he was taken in by Kim Kent from the Kent family in Memphis who betrothed his granddaughter, Hana Kent, to him.

The Kent family was considered a third-rate family in the local area. Hana had a freckled face. In addition, Jacob was a disabled person with an unknown background. Thus, this marriage was regarded as a joke and aroused local gossip.

Two months after Jacob and Hana got married, Kim died of illness. Jacob's identity became a secret. No one in Memphis knew his true identity. Even he himself did not know.

In the past three years, he had endured countless humiliations and was considered a useless person. He had never given up hope because he had a hunch that as long as he kept practicing his way of breathing by instinct, he could cure himself and restore his memory.

Now, he finally succeeded!

Just now, his aura could finally run on his legs, and his memory had been completely restored.

From now on, he would no longer be the poor good-for-nothing, and he would no longer have to suffer from those people's humiliation.

Realizing that his injuries were almost healed and knowing where he came from, Jacob immediately drove his electric vehicle home, preparing to pack up the things he had brought with him when he came to Memphis.

Just as he arrived at the door, he saw his mother-in-law, Flora Smiths, and his wife, Hana, standing outside. Jacob felt strange because Hana should be working at the company at this time.

"Where are the ingredients?" Flora glanced at Jacob's electric vehicle and found that there were only a small handful of vegetables on it.

"Well... I forgot!" Jacob was stunned. Only then did he remember that he was too excited when he was at the market and forgot about it.

"What else can you do? You can even forget about buying food? You drove this thing to the market and bought only some vegetables? Are you trying to make the neighbors think that our family is poor and can only eat this? Tell me. What else do you know besides eating?" Flora scolded Jacob angrily.

Jacob was silent for a moment and then said, "I'll go buy it now."

He did not want to argue with Flora. He had already put up with this woman for three years. It was fine to stay for a few days. Anyway, he was going to leave this place soon.

"Mom, don't scold him anymore. His legs are broken, and there are still some leftovers at home. Just eat some today, and we will buy more tomorrow." Hana frowned slightly.

They shouldn't wash their dirty linen in public. Now, they were quarreling outside the house, and it would be so shameful if the neighbors saw this.

"He eats free food every day, and you still protect him like this? I think you've lost your mind. How could I raise such a silly daughter like you? Hurry up and divorce this trash!" Flora shouted at Hana.

"Mom, what's wrong with you today? Can you not scold him anymore? Jacob is crippled. Besides, he did not spend any money at home. How can you say that? Stop it." Hana's face revealed a sad expression.

"What's wrong with me today? I'm just unhappy! I'm the daughter-in-law of the Kent family after all. You are the granddaughter of the Kent family, but what has our family become? Your father is useless, and your husband is also a waste. In our family, only women work, and men are all gigolos!" Flora shouted loudly.

Hana's expression changed. Her father, Martin Kent, had paralyzed legs and could only sit in a wheelchair. Jacob also needed crutches to walk. They had indeed suffered a lot over the years, but this could not be blamed on her father. After all, he didn't ask for this.

Now that Flora was scolding Hana's husband and Martin so loudly, Martin in the room must have heard it. He was sad for sure.

Hana wanted to argue with her mother, but she could not say anything as tears welled up in her eyes. She could only hold back her tears and go back home, hoping that her mother would just shut up.

Jacob sighed in his heart. He felt bad when he saw that Hana was so upset.

In the Kent family, Kim, who had already passed away, and Hana were good to Jacob. Whenever Flora vented her anger on him, as long as Hana was present, she would stand up for him.

In addition, although he and Hana didn't have sex or did anything intimate, after all, they still had some feelings for each other after three years of being together.

Following Hana into the bedroom, Jacob saw Hana sitting by the bed without saying a word.

"Hana, I have been a burden to you for the past three years," Jacob sighed and said. "If you want to divorce, you can do it anytime. I can sign it right away."

Hana shook her head. "When Grandpa left, he asked me to take care of you. I have to do it."

"We are not actually husband and wife. I have lived in the Kent's house for free for three years, which means that you have already fulfilled the promise you made to your grandfather. So you don't have to care too much about your grandfather's words. If you want to divorce, just say it. I won't take anything from this family!" Jacob said.

"But where can you go? You have no relatives to rely on, and you can't get a job. If I don't help you, how can you live?" Hana hesitated for a moment and said. "How about this? I'll see if I can help you get a stable job first. Then we can talk about divorce."

Jacob was moved. He originally wanted to leave the Kent family in a few days, but now he changed his mind with Hana's words just now and decided not to leave.

Even if he wanted to leave, he had to help Hana gain a foothold in the Kent family before he left.

Although Hana was the granddaughter of the Kent family, Jacob knew that she was in a very difficult situation. On one hand, she had to take care of her paralyzed father, and on the other hand, she was frozen out by her relatives in the company. At the same time, she had to endure her mother's endless complaints.

In the past three years, Jacob had never seen Hana smile!

"Tomorrow is my grandmother's birthday. There are 800 dollars on this card. Use 160 dollars to buy a new set of clothes and the rest to buy a gift for Grandmother." After a while, Hana took out a bank card from her handbag and handed it to Jacob.

"What kind of gift?" Jacob asked.

Hana was silent for a while before saying, "Buy as you see fit."

Tomorrow was the 70th birthday of Cammy Clark, Hana's grandma. It was so stingy to buy a gift of a few hundred dollars. But Hana had no choice. She could only take out that much money.

She would be laughed at by others.

"Hana, don't worry. The days will get better," Jacob comforted Hana. Then, he packed up his belongings, picked up the bank card that Hana had given him, and left.

Driving the electric vehicle, he first came to an empty place, stopped, and then made a call.

"Ray, where are you now?" Jacob said in a low voice.

Ray Hebert was his most loyal subordinate, and some of his businesses were managed by Ray.

He just remembered Ray's number after three years.

"Mr. Nelson, I finally got your call. Where have you been all these years?"

Ray's excited voice came from the phone.

"Don't ask about this for now. How is the company I handed over to you now?" Jacob asked.

"Mr. Nelson, the company you gave me has been developing well these past few years. Its assets are already over 160 million dollars."

"Very good. Do you know the Kent family in Memphis?"

"Yes, the Kent family is a third-rate family in Memphis. Their assets are over 16 million dollars."

"The Kent family has a real estate company called the Kent Real Estate Group, and there is a project manager named Hana Kent. You go do business with her and give her a big project."

"Okay, I will do it immediately... Boss, is there anything special about Hana?"

"She is my wife."

"Oh, you are that... I mean. I will complete the task you gave me!"

Ray, who was on the other side of the line, broke out in cold sweat. He had almost said, "You are the good-for-nothing son-in-law of the Kent family!"

For three years, Jacob's whereabouts were very secretive. Even his most loyal subordinate did not know where he went. Ray never thought that the good-for-nothing of the Kent family was his leader.

"By the way, I can't let anyone know my identity, including your subordinates," Jacob said.

"Don't worry, Mr. Nelson. I won't tell anyone!"

After hanging up the phone, Ray immediately called his subordinates.

"Hank, it's me... Isn't there a piece of land in the west of Memphis that is ready to be developed? Go and cooperate with Hana from the Kent Real Estate Group.

"Remember. Only cooperate with Hana... Don't ask!"
