Looking out for him, taking care of him, and prioritizing him are her daily goals. She is like his slave, but little does she know that she started falling for him already. Can her love end up with something positive? Or it will end up with nothing?

Chapter 1 1

"I am disgusted, the art of their guard." She rolled her eyes and came closer to me. I pointed to

the fugitive lipstick on her lips and she laughed. He rubbed it and placed the food in front of me.

"Did you eat already?" I asked and Navi came in, holding the towel and freshly washed now, she

looked away when she saw Nila and she showed me the medicine and I nodded.

"I already did, I'm full Kourtney. You ate, you're thin and you don't eat!" I laughed it off and

opened the burger, crying as I chewed it. Because now I can only eat something with taste and I

won't drink soft drinks. Burger and fries are okay.

"Don't eat unhealthy foods Kourtney, so you can get better faster." Navi approached and placed

the towel on the side.

"Your kill joy Navi, it's not bad that you feed Kourtney the food she wants."

"Why, are you Kourtney's doctor. Do you know her situation?" Navi returns and it seems like

they are going to get heated now, Navi looks at Nila and Nila is shaken by what Navi said.

"Yeah, I know that you don't want me here. Well, I'm out. What a nice treatment of yours Navi."

He tormented Navi and Nila kissed me before going out and walking out of Navi's room.

"What a pain in my ass. To be honest, I don't like that girl." Navi came to me and took a bite of

fries and grabbed the burger from me.

"You don't like her, but you eat what she gives?" I teased Navi and he shrugged his shoulder and

pinched my nose. He held me when he let go.

"I do, but the food she brings, I want and you are not allowed." I pouted and turned away from

Navi. He groaned and took a bite of the fries from me. I looked at it and ate what he gave me.

"It's a shame if I don't use it. And Navi, be nice to mt friend. She just wants to give me food, and

she is a nice friend of mine. She helped me a lot," I said and her eyebrows rose. Navi.

"Well, I still don't like that girl." I was saddened by what Navi said, he is close minded once he

really doesn't like people he will stand up for it. "But don't be so mean, even casually. Nila is

pitiful." I simply fell for the coke and Navi looked at me badly.

"I will try okay, but I can't say that I will do it." Navi stood up and showed what was on her

tablet. His general average and their graduation. "Well, make sure you're good at my graduation.

I want you to be with me while I receive my diploma." Navi caressed my arm and I smiled at his

caress.

"I will be there, don't worry. I will do everything I need to." I play with my hands while waiting

for Navi to speak again. It's like he wants to tell me something now.

"Kourtney, I know that this is not the right time to talk about our issues but I can't stop myself

from bringing this up." He held my hand and looked at me.

"Margaret went home, Tita picked me up. Also, she is my childhood friend so I can't say no. But

Mama can prove that it was Tita's idea. I tried to say no, but they insisted and I felt sorry for

Margaret if there is no one to pick him up at the airport." He looks at me and his look is pleading

with me now.

"Yes, I know and I understand. Maybe I am really tired at that time so I will just think about it. I

can't bear to see you with someone else," I said and took a deep breath. It really hurts to see him

with someone else and not me.

"Sorry baby, it won't happen again." I nodded and smiled at Navi. "Thank you for helping me

and I am sorry if I broke up with you hastily. I didn't mean it." I turned and Navi grabbed my

chin to stop me from going.

"Baby, we didn't break up. Do you think I'll agree to our separation?" Navi said and my hands are

shaking now.

"I will always understand you no matter what, because I really love you and I can't see myself

without you."

I'm holding Papa's hand while I'm next to him now. I have transferred Papa to the hospital, while

Mama is not at home, three days without showing me.

Aunt Amelie is sleeping on the sofa. Today is also Navi's graduation and I'm going to campus

now, a week has passed quickly and luckily I haven't had any trouble regaining my strength.

I have an appetite and Navi and I are fine. I have talked to his cousin and he will tell me the

truth. Navi was not really the man who used the car and Tita also proved that Navi was with her

in her office then.

"Papa, I'm leaving first. I'll be back later after Navi's graduation celebration. I'll leave you here

with Aunt Amelie, rest and heal." My grip on Papa's hand tightened. His eyes are now open, but

Papa is still unresponsive until now. The doctor said that he still needs to undergo many

processes to heal and stop the bleeding in Papa's brain.

Because after the tendon ruptured, they couldn't stop the bleeding right away, but right now Papa

is still on the ventilator and the hospital bill is growing, so I'm working on a way to settle the

bills.

It's just sad that Dad didn't pay off his insurance and we can't avail it, if even if we pay off the

remaining balance it's still not effective because after three years it can be moved.

"Son, I thought you were leaving?" Aunt Amelie got up and fixed her hair. I handed it water and

food. "Yes, but I waited for you to wake up so that Papa would be with you while you rested,

because you hardly ever sleep, Aunt." I smile and sit next to Tita on the sofa.

He just shook his head and patted my shoulder. "I'm fine, as long as your Papa is with me. Walk,

you might be late for Navi's ceremony," she said and fixed my stray hair, tucked it behind my ear

and stood up.

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

Contract With The Devil: Love In Shackles

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
