Harper, grew up in the orphanage a graduate from nursing who wants to face her career and the orphans at St Mary were she spent most of her life . Her world is turned upside down when her friend persuades her to attend a party. Reluctantly, Harper goes to the party Harper is unprepared for the intense, electrifying connection she feels with a mysterious man hidden behind a mask. The chemistry between them is undeniable, it leads to an unforgettable one-night stand.

Chapter 1 Electrifying

Harper got tired of dancing and made her way to a corner of the club, her legs aching from the relentless pace, she glanced over at Mia, who was completely engrossed in dancing with some guy. Harper sighed, knowing that Mia's promise of joining her in a minute was unlikely to be fulfilled anytime soon. Sipping her non-alcoholic drink, Harper tried to find a moment of peace from the chaos of the club. She closed her eyes briefly, letting the music wash over her. When she opened them, she felt a strange sensation-a prickling awareness that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.

She scanned the room and her gaze locked onto a pair of intense, emotionless eyes staring blankly at her from across the room. The man sitting in the dark crowd couldn't see his face maybe he was hiding or something he was putting a mask on like some of the others but she didn't fail to notice how richly dressed he was his flashy demeanor was all she saw and the pair of eyes gazing directly at her like he wants to bore into her soul then she wonders why she didn't bother to wear a mask. She tried to look away, but her eyes seemed drawn to him, as if by some invisible force. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she felt a flush creep up her neck. The stranger's stare was unwavering, his eyes unreadable. It was as though he could see right through her, and The intensity of his gaze made her feel exposed and vulnerable. Unable to bear the intensity of his gaze any longer, Harper turned her face away, her cheeks burning. She focused on her drink, hoping to calm her racing heart. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the feeling of his eyes lingered, making her skin tingle. As she sat there, lost in her thoughts and trying to shake off the unsettling sensation. A man slid into the seat next to her sit . He was tall, and handsome putting on a smiling face he wasn't wearing a mask He will serve for a gentlemanly type of man maybe a doctor or detective could fit, with a friendly smile and an easygoing demeanor. He held out a drink to her, and his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Hi there, I couldn't help but notice you sitting here alone. Thought you might like a drink," he said, his voice was warm and inviting. Harper smiled, grateful for the distraction. "Thank you, but I'm not drinking tonight. Just here with a friend." He nodded, not deterred by her refusal. "No worries. My name's Jake, by the way. What's yours?" "Harper," she replied, her voice more relaxed now. "Nice to meet you, Jake." As they chatted, Harper found herself warming to Jake's friendly nature. He was easy to talk to, and she appreciated his effort to make her feel comfortable. They talked about everything from their favorite movies to the latest music, and Harper felt herself relaxing for the first time that night. Across the room, Lucas watched the interaction with growing irritation. He didn't understand why it bothered him so much to see Harper talking to another man. He barely knew her, yet. The sight of her smiling and laughing with Jake sent a surge of jealousy through him. He clenched his jaw, his eyes never leaving her. Harper, oblivious to Lucas's stare, continued her conversation with Jake. She was grateful for the distraction, the easy conversation helping to take her mind off the unsettling encounter earlier. She laughed at one of Jake's jokes, feeling a genuine sense of enjoyment. Just try a drink it's good you know," he said, his voice warm and inviting. Harper smiled, grateful for the distraction. "I'm. not drinking tonight I thought I said that before. Jake's smile didn't falter. "Come on, one drink won't hurt. Just a little something to help you relax." Harper hesitated, but Jake's charm and persistence wore her down. "Well, maybe just one," she conceded, taking the drink from him. As she took a sip, she noticed a slightly bitter aftertaste but dismissed it, attributing it to the unfamiliar cocktail. They continued to talk, Jake's was friendly and engaging. But soon, Harper started to feel a different feeling, her pulse quickening in a way that had nothing to do with their conversation. She tried to focus on Jake, but her mind was becoming hazy, and an uncomfortable heat spreads through her body. Jake stood up abruptly, glancing at his phone "I've got to go. Can you meet me outside after three minutes from now before your friend gets here I can show you my car", "alright I will be there", Jake ran out excited his plan was getting accomplished and he noticed she was really naive. Harper watched him leave, confusion and unease mingling in her foggy mind. She needed to get out of the club, away from the overwhelming noise and flashing lights. She pushed herself up from the table, feeling unsteady on her feet, and made her way toward the exit maybe to wait for jake outside before the three minute elapses. Outside, the cool night air hit her like a shock, but it did little to clear her head. The effect of whatever Jake had slipped into her drink was intensifying or was she drugged if she is what is his plan she wasn't safe, and she felt her skin flush with an unnatural heat. Harper stumbled down the sidewalk, trying to find her bearings and planned on going back inside where she felt was safer away from Jake because it seems Jake had a plan, she suddenly bumped into someone. She looked up, her vision blurry, and found herself staring into those same piercing eyes from the club. It was him the man who had been watching her. "Are you okay?" Lucas's voice was deep and steady, a stark contrast to the chaos in her mind. The stranger with a mask who was staring at her in the club a while ago stood asking if she was okay with that deep accentuating voice of his she tried as much as possible to compose herself "Yeah I'm good", replied Harper She dared not misbehave in front of a stranger but she couldn't hold it anymore she needed to escape. Lucas noticed she was sweaty and felt uneasy he put his hand on her shoulders trying to confirm why she was unsteady. it was worse for Harper she realized the effect of the drug was to make her horny she has never felt like this before she couldn't think straight now she needs him she couldn't hold it any longer suddenly. angry Jake showed up. Jake stormed out of the shadows, his eyes blazing with anger. "What are you doing with my lady?" he growled, his gaze fixed on Lucas. Jake who has prepared an explicit night with Harper wasn't happy at all that his plan was failing Lucas stood his ground, his eyes locked on Jake. "I'm with her," he replied calmly, but his mind raced with suspicion. Harper seemed uncomfortable with Jake, but Lucas sensed something was off. He noticed her glassy eyes and slurred speech, and his instincts told him she was drugged. Jake's eyes narrowed. "You're just using her too, aren't you?" he sneered. "She doesn't even know you!" Harper's voice was barely audible. "I...I don't know you too", she murmured, her eyes fluttering closed. Lucas's grip on her hand tightened.". She doesn't know you, and she doesn't want to be with you." Jake's face twisted in rage. "You're just a bait for him, Harper! He's using you! You're better off coming with me. If you don't, he is going to hurt you worse than I ever could!" Lucas's anger boiled over. He charged at Jake, delivering a series of swift punches that sent Jake crashing to the ground. "You drugged her, you bastard!" Lucas snarled, his fists trembling with fury. He called out to his boys, who appeared from the shadows, their faces grim. "Take him away and teach him a lesson," Lucas ordered. "No one drugs a woman and gets away with it." As Jake was dragged away, Lucas scooped up Harper and cradled her in his arms. "I've got you, Harper. You're safe now." He strode out of the club, determined to get her the help she needed and make sure Jake paid for his crimes. Lucas couldn't get a hold of anything to call Harper's friend all he knew was that she came with a friend, and he didn't see her purse it wasn't at the counter anymore and the phone had a password Harper seemed to be unresponsive. He went back to his car to persuade her to open 1:54 PM her phone but she was in pain when he got there she was trying to touch herself was the fate he found Harper He tried calling out to her "hey do you remember the password ",he asked as he got into the limo with Harper sitting close to him without reply Harper jumped on him he knew what she wanted but he isn't a person to take advantage of women it was already two at night. He thought long and hard while trying to pull her off him "Don't regret this later", was all Lucas said giving her a strong kiss.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

For seventeen years, I was the crown jewel of the Kensington empire, the perfect daughter groomed for a royal future. Then, a cream-colored envelope landed in my lap, bearing a gold crest and a truth that turned my world into ice. The DNA test result was a cold, hard zero percent-I wasn't a Kensington. Before the ink could even dry, my parents invited my replacement, a girl named Alleen, into the drawing room and treated me like a trespasser in my own home. My mother, who once hosted galas in my honor, wouldn't even look me in the eye as she stroked Alleen's arm, whispering that she was finally "safe." My father handed me a one-million-dollar check-a mere tip for a billionaire-and told me to leave immediately to avoid tanking the company's stock price. "You're a thief! You lived my life, you spent my money, and you don't get to keep the loot!" Alleen shrieked, trying to claw the designer jacket off my shoulders while my "parents" watched with clinical detachment. I was dumped on a gritty sidewalk in Queens with nothing but three trunks and the address of a struggling laborer I was now supposed to call "Dad." I traded a marble mansion for a crumbling walk-up where the air smelled of exhaust and my new bedroom was a literal storage closet. My biological family thought I was a broken princess, and the Kensingtons thought they had successfully erased me with a payoff and a non-disclosure agreement. They had no idea that while I was hauling trunks up four flights of stairs, my secret media empire was already preparing to move against them. As I sat on a thin mattress in the dark, I opened my encrypted laptop and sent a single command that would cost my former father ten million dollars by breakfast. They thought they were throwing me to the wolves, but they forgot one thing: I'm the one who leads the pack.
