Can the devoted prince rekindle their passionate bond and make his long-awaited bride remember the love they once shared?
The steady jump suddenly created an extremely loud explosion. The fanged mutant birds fluttered while cursing all the way through.
There was only a werewolf left with his claws filled with blood. While in front of him lay another dead werewolf.
He stood tall in the shadow of the haunted tree, hiding behind a dark veil, clashing with the crescent moonlit night.
He was silent for a while until he finally saw the dead werewolf magically transform into a wolf: a final embodiment of the immortal werewolves.
Then a blood badge appeared from the wolf's body. He picked it up and then set fire to the wolf's clothing with his remaining strength.
A very tough battle. He needed to rest, but he had to leave soon to pass the badge on to someone.
But before he could move, a tree groaned, "Is it you, the famous assassin in the plains? Why are you doing your heinous work in my territory? The Moon Goddess can punish and curse us if you keep doing it. Get lost and don't come back! This time we will forgive you! But take the wolf's corpse from our sacred land. Or you will never get out of here!"
The assassin grimaced in anger. His claws had sunk beneath the tips of his fingers. But in an instant, they arose back: standby mode!
"What are you doing? Why don't you go now and take the body away?" Now another grumbling haunted tree. They were a kind of banyan tree that had roots like mangrove trees, toughness like teak trees, and leaves like sang leaves. The kind of tree that would never be found in any other world except in that world.
"Hurry up or you will die like him!" Instantly, tree vines appeared from an unexpected direction. They wriggled and shot almost at airspeed.
But fortunately, the assassin had very good dexterity. He jumped nimbly. His body turned into a wolf with jet-black fur. With those extremely sharp fangs, he dragged the corpses of the other wolves out of the haunted forest.
As soon as they exited the forest area, he dumped the body in the Mourn Chasm, a chasm that was always open to its plains to accept anything as food.
The sound of a falling object created an eerie echo. Soon followed by the sound of bones breaking.
"Pathetic creature," the assassin whispered.
After finishing his business, he ran to go somewhere, past meadows silvered by the moonlight, past various valleys and cliffs that had various colors.
Strange noises resounded along with his thumping hooves. They seemed to drive him to his destination.
He arrived at a luxurious sojourn in the suburbs which had a large yard and a dividing wall of thorns. The wide-open gate and more than five yellow lanterns. The place was flanked by two haunted trees and two mutant werewolves. When they saw him, they growled as if they wanted to tear him apart and eat him at once.
But because of a voice from another werewolf, they stepped aside.
"He is my guest! Don't touch him!" Suddenly a man in a black robe appeared. On his left chest, there was a unique and almost invisible symbol. He revealed his face in the form of a wolf. "Come in before you become their meal!" Then he winced.
The assassin turned into a human again. His sturdy, shod feet were now past a pair of trees and the werewolves. A growl broke out between them.
"I made a bet with my friend about you," said the robed werewolf, who had turned his face back into a human, as soon as they passed through a tall wooden door. "I told him that you will succeed in this mission. But he bet otherwise. I don't think he trusts your skills. Even though your name is already famous throughout the land."
The assassin didn't budge. He remained focused in the darkness of the alley they passed, behind his matching-colored face mask. Lanterns hung along the damp alleys. Mossy black bricks. A view that was inversely proportional when viewed from the outside.
"But even so you are impressive," said the cloaked werewolf again, who had now led them to pass through a long and winding staircase leading to a cellar. "You managed to kill him. Even though he was an Alpha who had survived the cruelty of the Supreme Lycan. That means his strength is outstanding. But you did it!"
The sound of the grating door was heard. The smell of rust wafted in as the assassin unintentionally pulled out his claws.
In an instant, his pupils dilated, emitting a bright red color. The red exploded like a silent, powerless boom, but enough to be noticed. And so, the robed werewolf turned around in an instant.
The assassin was sure that he had seen the robed werewolf's shocked expression. But suddenly he smirked as if he had been waiting for this for a long time.
"As expected," said the robed werewolf. "You're not just an ordinary werewolf!" He raised his hand. There was a dense yellow glow in the air, like strange exploding fireworks.
The floor suddenly shook. A prison appeared from the sky, trapping the assassin. A coal chain wrapped around him tightly, hurting him horribly.
"Aaargh!" He let out a scream as his face mask was pulled on with great force. He was sure some of his hair was pulled out because of it. "What are you doing?" He roared, fangs sticking out of the corners of his teeth and pupils still bloodshot. "Who are you? What do you want?"
The cloaked werewolf grinned again. He didn't change his position as some white smoke billowed around him, followed by the appearance of several other werewolves standing around the assassin.
The sound of snapping fingers made the prison bars collapse beneath the ground, amidst a blast of dust. The werewolves approached the assassin and pulled off his black cowl.
Beautiful long hair strands. A glow that glowed even in the dimness of the dungeon. A pretty face dominates the room. She was a girl!
"Don't you know me? Have you forgotten who I am?" asked the cloaked werewolf. The hood of the robe on his head was blown apart by the gusts of wind that came out of his body.
Her red pupils widened even more because she knew who he was. "Prime Minister Douglas!" She growled. Her face had almost turned into that of a wolf's, like a broken hologram. "What do you want? Let me go!"
"How can I spare Madison the heinous and most powerful hitman on the plains?" asked Prime Minister Douglas with a devilish grin. "I will not pass up this opportunity."
"What do you want?" Madison, the assassin, barked. "What do you want from me?"
"Surely not your body even though I don't deny that you are very beautiful." He joked which was followed by disdainful laughter from the werewolves behind him. Claws emerged from his fingers as he tugged at her collar. He snorted as he said, "I want you to kill the Lycan Crown Prince. If you refuse then you will die here right now." He jerked her until it made her feel pain all over her body. It must be due to the power of the coal chain.
"How could I possibly kill the Lycan Crown Prince, the son of the most powerful Supreme Lycan in this world? If you tell me to do it then that means you want me to die!"
"Of course, we won't let you die if you're willing to do so. We will protect you as best we can." He sounded vicious amidst the disappointed tone. "We will always stand in front of you. Don't worry about anything! Even the payment you will receive. You will live in wealth until you die. We will restore your family's good name."
Madison looked up like getting a pinch in her stomach.
"I know who you are," said Prime Minister Douglas. "You are the daughter of the Mortimer Family, a family from the Gamma clan that was highly respected in the past. You all have even served Supreme Lycan with all your heart. But why was your family slaughtered and accused of being traitors by him? Isn't this very unfair?"
Madison gets teary-eyed. Her chest tightened when she remembered that when she remembered her happiness and that of her family which was finally destroyed because of slander. "How do you know that?" Her voice trembled and was about to break.
"I know everything, Madison Darling, and we all know. We do want to restore the world's position to how it was before Supreme Lycan came to power. Therefore, you need to kill the Lycan Crown Prince so that this power does not continue. We must live in peace, honey. And haven't you wanted a wedding for a long time? But since your family's good name is ruined you can't do it, right?"
She clenched her fists. She had long wanted to live in peace with someone she loved. She wanted to get married and have a small, happy family. However, due to accusations from the Supreme Lycan, her life was shattered.
Unknowingly her cheeks were wet with tears. But in an instant, she realized that this was a great opportunity that she had. So shakily she nodded. "I will do it. I will kill the Lycan Crown Prince. But you must promise to restore my family's good name."
