LET'S ROLL THE DICE Chapter 1 HER ONLY COMPANION

THEME : HER ONLY COMPANION.

*** *** **** ** ****

Luna washed off the blood stains off her hand in the basin with a derp scowl on her face. She had just gotten back from a mission and this was her usual daily routine everytime she got back from a mission.

She make sure she cleans her hand and that there was no blood stain on her. This was her way of saying that she knew nothing about the victim's death.

" I was only following orders so I hope you don't haunt me instead haunt those who sent me" Luna saidas she walked out of the bathroom.

She picked a towel and used it to wipe her face and her arms. She threw herself on the bed and closed her eyes. She recalled the face of the man she killed and she felt sad. She brought out her gun and she kissed it .

" Love, we aren't at fault, right? we were only following orders and it wasn't like we had a choice" Luna said caressing her gun.

Love was the name that she had given to her gun, he gun was her only best friend and companion, it has been with her since she joined the gang. She was deeply attached to her gun.

Her gun has always been with her on every of her mission, She always find it hard to go to any mission without love. it sounds crazy that she was speaking to her gun but it was her only friend, she has no one to talk to except her gun.

She has no friends to share her pains, her sorrow with. She was a loner.

Looking back at her life, the only time that she was ever happy was when she was in school, her happy life came to an end after she was forced to become a member of the assassin gang by her father.

A knock sounded at the door and she got up quickly holding tightly onto love.

" Who is it?"asked Evelyn as she moved towards the door.

" Shadow sent for you. He requested that you should come with me." The force informed.

Wondering who shadow is, shadow is the nickname which her father is known for.

She was sure he called her for a mission asides that her dad never sees her let alone talk to her.

" You can leave now, I will be with him in a jiffy." She replied.

Luna heard the retracting footsteps of the person leaving her door.

She packed her hair in a bun, adjusted her clothes properly and headed to her father's office.

Inside a opulence office, a man in his early fifties sat on a chair popping up the cigarette in his hand.

A dangerous scowl was visible on the face of the man who looked deadly and dangerous, the man was no doubt the head of dangerous mafia boss or a assassin, well the man was both because he was Demetrius the father of Luna Demetrius and leader of Bloody haven gang.

Luna entered the room which was filled with the smell of cigarettes and alcohol, she squeezed her face in disgust as she moved closer to her father.

" You sent for me Shadow." She said referring to her father with his nickname instead of Dad, Papa or father.

She had hated the fact of calling him father ever since he forced her to join the gang. To her father she was just a tool which he can use anytime that he wants, while to her, he was her boss or should she rather said her master.

" Take a look this picture and information." He said handing over a file to her. " Make she you study every details on that file because that is your next mission."

Luna picked up the picture, she was captured by the most handsome man that she had ever seen, his green emerald eyes were mesmerizing, she felt drawn towards the man in the picture. looking at the picture something in her arose.

" He is Leonard Cohen, I attended an assassin meeting last night and his details were given out, there is a huge bounty on his head and every assassin is after his life, you have never failed me so i am counting on you to deliver." Her father said as he stared at her.

" How long are you giving me to eliminate him?" Luna asked.

"We were given six months but am giving you just three months which I think is more than enough. sketch a good plan to get him and make sure you kill him when you get close to him."

She looked her father one more time before walking to the door without uttering a word to him.

" Luna!" Her father called as she was about to exit the office

" Make sure to be safe and return back home safely. Leonard Cohen is a very dangerous and deadly man, many people had died while in the quest to end his life." Her father said, Luna's eyes widened with surprise this was the first time that her father was showing her care.

Could it be that she was hallucinating or did she perhaps heard him wrong?

.

She couldn't believe her dad still cared about her without a second thought she ran into his arms hugging him tightly.

" I promise to come back safe, dad"

She pulled away from the hug trying to control her emotions that was building up in her, she hadn't hugged her dad in years and she felt happy and safe to be in her father's arms.

" You have to because there are still many missions I need you to tend to and with the way things are you will the best person for the job." Her father said running her mood and shattering her hopes and joy.

She moved away from him as tears envolved her eyes. She was so foolish to believe he still had a little fatherly love left for her.

She was foolish to believe that he still loves and cares for her.

Without saying anything and looking back she left his office running to her room.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The Silent Bride's Billion Dollar Contract

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

Flash Marriage To My Best Friend's Father

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
