"We are divorced, Adams." She sighed and wanted to walk away, but he held her. "It doesn't matter." He answered, his voice laced with determination. "I don't love you anymore." "That doesn't matter either. What matters is that I want you, and there's nothing you or anyone can do about it." ***** Alicia's life has been a series of ups and downs. She suffered abuse from her husband and his family because she couldn't give him a child. She thought she had seen it all, but not until the day she returned home only to receive the divorce papers from her husband's parents. She pleaded with them, but was met with deaf ears, and so she signed the documents and left. Little did anyone know that she was pregnant. She returned six years later with her baby girl only to find her Ex-husband craving her once more. How will she take this, and what other surprises does fate have in stock for her?

Chapter 1 1

''No...." Jasmine screamed as she woke up with a start, her clothes were soaked with her sweat, her breathing was uneven, and she had tears rolling down her cheeks.

Every night isn't different from this particular night, and the dreams are not different from the same dream that woke her up; her losing her babies.

She clutched her heart as she recalled just how many times she's had a miscarriage because of the monster she was with; her mate.

Her life has never been easy. She's an orphan as she had lost her parents to the cruel hands of death at an early age, and she has no relatives...she has no one in this world except for herself.

The more she thought about how messed up her life is, the more the pain she felt in her heart became so intense; it was literally eating her up.

While she was still on her bed, weeping bitterly, the door to her bedroom was kicked open to reveal an angry looking Stephan. When Jasmine saw him standing at the doorway, her pain was instantly replaced with fear because she knows that when he has that look on his face, it doesn't always mean well for her.

"S... Stephan." She stuttered, her whole body trembling.

"Why hasn't my food been served yet!?" Stephan asked when he walked into her room.

Jasmine instantly looked at the wall clock, then she looked at Stephan again. "B...but it's just 4am." She replied.

Had she known what would happen after that, she never would have said anything because the moment those words left her mouth, Stephan angrily went to her and slapped her hard before roughly pulling her out of bed and shoving her hard to the floor.

"You seem to be forgetting your manners, girl. Never talk back to me!" He thundered. "You had better get to work, or you'll be getting more than just a slap from me." He threatened furiously.

Just as he was about to leave, Jasmine spoke up. "What have I ever done to you, Stephan?'' She demanded with tears streaming down her cheeks. "Why do you hate me so much? Why do you treat me this badly, even though I've always done everything to please you; to make you love me? What have I ever done to you?"

"You want to know what you've done, Jasmine?" Stephan asked. "Your existence alone annoys me." He spat. "The fact that I had to get mated to you...an omega, it makes my blood boil with so much rage. I hate you for being who you are. You disgust me. You're not befitting of the status you have right now. Not only that, but you do not deserve to be called my mate, so deal with it because this is your punishment for existing!" He spat bitterly.

Stephan roughly dragged her up from where she was on the floor, then he pushed her out of her room. "Now get to work, omega.'' He ordered before leaving.

The words Stephan said to her cut so deep into her heart, tripling the pain she felt. "Is it my fault that I was born, Stephen?" She questioned, staring at the direction he went. "I never chose to be born, nor did I pick my fate of being an omega. It was never my fault...."

"I didn't ask for any of this." She muttered.

Jasmine stood outside for a moment; crying. When she felt she was a bit better, she wiped off her tears and went to the kitchen to make breakfast for Stephan.

While cooking, Stephan mind linked her to serve him in his bedroom, so when she was done cooking, she served his food and took it to him.

Sadly, Jasmine had no idea what was waiting for her.

When she arrived at Stephan's room, she was about to place a knock on the door when she heard some sounds coming from his room, and her heart raced as she recognized those sounds.

Jasmine's hand trembled as she slowly opened the door and was faced with a shocking reality; Stephan making out with his mistress. The food fell from her hand and scattered on the floor, alerting both Stephan and his mistress.

When Stephan saw what had happened, his eyes darkened with rage. He angrily walked towards her and slapped her once more. "Are you stupid? What have you done? Look at the mess you've made!" He fumed.

Jasmine's hand was on her cheek, where he had slapped her. It hurts so bad, but it was nothing compared to what she's just seen.

Stephan then began insulting her and calling her all sorts of names while his mistress laughed so hard at Jasmine's predicament.

As Jasmine stood still receiving all the insults Stephan was showering on her, she felt so many emotions at once; pain, anger, betrayal, but this time, her anger was the greater emotion. She tried to stay silent; to keep her anger in check and receive all insults like she's always done, but not this time... she's had enough!

For the very first time since she got mated to Stephan, Jasmine stood up to him.

"Why don't you just reject me then!" She yelled in rage, shocking not just Stephan but also his mistress.

Stephan was so shocked by her sudden outburst that at first he didn't know what to do.

"Why don't you just reject me and set me free instead of making me go through all this pain." Jasmine repeated in tears. "You keep saying you're tired of me and that you hate the fact that you and I are mates. Well, if you hate me so much then please reject me, Stephan. I can't do this anymore." She cried bitterly. "I just can't do this anymore. You've caused me unimaginable pain, and I've never, for once, wronged you in any way. I do my best to please you, Stephan. I've never, for once, complained about how bad you treat me because I keep hoping that a day will come when your feelings for me will change; when you'll love me." She whispered the last part, but Stephan clearly heard her.

"But you've made it clear to me that your feelings for me will never change, you'll forever continue to hate me and that will never change!" She said with gritted teeth. "You can do us both the favor of rejecting me, and I'll gladly accept your rejection because I'm done with you, Stephan! I've had enough of you treating me worse than an animal. I can't take any of this anymore, so please end my suffering by rejecting me and letting me go." She pleaded in tears.

"Reject you?" Stephan growled, he immediately grabbed her neck, choking her.

Jasmine's eyes widened in shock, she began tapping his hand for him to let her go because she was struggling to breathe, but Stephan couldn't care less even though she died right now.

"Free you?" He chuckled darkly. "Now why would I want to do that, Jasmine? Why would I want to let go of my favorite play thing? That's never going to happen!" He spat as he roughly let her go.

"There's no way on earth that you'll ever escape me, Jasmine. I intend to keep you as my slave for a very long time." He laughed. "And since you mentioned it... I do think it's a good thing to reject you, after all, should I bother still having you as my mate." He shrugged.

"I will give you what you want, Jasmine. I will reject you but never free you."

Jasmine slowly shook her head, her eyes holding so much pain.

And at that moment, Stephan rejected her, and then forced her to accept his rejection.

When the mate bond was broken, the one who felt the most pain was Jasmine, it felt like her heart was being tugged at with so many strings. Even though she was in so much pain at that moment, she would rather not show that side to Stephan; couldn't let him see how much effect he has on her because she would rather cry in secret than cry in front of him right now.

When Stephan rejected her, she had thought it would all end there, but there was more to come.

Stephan immediately called out to his guards and ordered them to drag Jasmine away and whip her thoroughly, his reason being that she had dared to stand up to him. He also increased the work she had to do in the pack house.

As the guards took her away, Jasmine wanted to plead for forgiveness, but of what use is it to plead for forgiveness when she knows her pleas will only fall on deaf ears. She instead wept in silence as they took her to where she will be punished.

It would have been best if had rejected her and then set her free. All she could think of is how long will she be made to go through all this? How long until the moon goddess hears her cry and grants her long wish of death.

Indeed, her fate is nothing but a cruel one with no happiness written in her sad

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.

Marrying My Runaway Groom's Powerful Father

Marrying My Runaway Groom's Powerful Father

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
