"I saw you kissing Ruby, my best friend, how could you Jacob?" Gabrielle said with tears pouring down her cheeks and her heart broken as shattered glass.
"I can't hide it anymore, I love Ruby and I want to be with her", Jacob said , his face showing no emotions. His words stung Gabrielle like a bee, she couldn't bear it anymore.
Gabrielle ran out of the room, her tears pouring down like an open tap. Shocked from the fact that a 3-year old relationship had been torn apart, she fell and kept on weeping. How broken she was.
"How could Ruby do this to me, I thought we were friends", Gabrielle said, with a sad expression on her face, as she had no tears left to cry. "I can't stay in this freak show of a town anymore, I have to leave", she said as she stumped into her bedroom angrily.
Getting to bed, she couldn't sleep as insomnia crept in. "How will I cope with all of this, how can I be happy, I loved him more than the fishes love water!" Gabrielle said, still sad and feeling down, missing the company of her now ex-lover Jacob.
The way he touches and kisses her keeps barging into her thoughts, she misses him so dearly already. She really loved him, yet, he was inhumane.
Trying so hard to let go of her thoughts, she finally fell asleep, hoping the next day is bearable for her.
Early in the morning, before the cock crows and the morning birds chirp, Gabrielle gets ready to leave, her heart still broken but hopeful. Leaving her house, she approaches a café, her jaw dropped when she sees Jacob and Ruby having coffee together.
In split seconds, she felt her blood boil as she noticed their hands on each other, the scene was killing her slowly. "What did I do to deserve this?" Gabrielle said to herself, holding back her tears, like a can of beverage ready to explode.
Jacob notices Gabrielle outside the café, without hesitation, he turns to Ruby, takes her into a warm embrace and plants a warm kiss on her lips, making it obvious that he is enjoying it.
Without looking back, Gabrielle ran off in tears, leaving the town boarders. She tries to hide her feelings but her flood gates are open, as she cried profusely on her way to a new town.
She calms down in no time, cleaning her tears dry. "Come on Gabrielle, it's not the end of the world", She said to herself continuously as she almost reached her stop.
"Oh my goodness", She exclaimed as she reaches her stop. Her mouth was wide open as she arrives at a small town named Loathaven, where she noticed a statue depicting a fierce looking creature.
"What is that?", she asks herself as she feels the surface of the statue, rough in her touch. "A werewolf", a stranger behind her replied. Startled, Gabrielle turns back to see a woman, who was rather pale than usual.
"Legendary creatures of great strength and might, they are said to be a myth or extinct, but I still believe they exist, so beware, princess" the woman said, rather sarcastically as she leaves
"Umm... okay?", Gabrielle replied as she moves on still trying to process what she just heard. The town was lively and joyful, "What a beautiful town", Gabrielle said as she walked passed beautiful rose bushes and houses that looked like those in fairytales. Yet, the town seemed eerie and mysterious to her as she sees drawings and carvings of more mythical creatures.
She arrives at her new home, unpacking her things, she paused as she comes across a picture of her and Jacob. "I don't need this loser in my life anymore, I'll be fine without him", she said as she tore the picture into miniature pieces.
"It's time for a new start, a better one", she said to herself, letting all the pain in her heart go, though not completely as a broken heart takes time to heal.
Gabrielle spending the whole day setting up her place, started to feel a lot better with the change in environment, as she couldn't wait to explore and learn more about this mysterious town.
"I don't think I can love again, the pain involved is unbearable", she says to herself as she sleeps off. Her words where strong, but love can melt the heart.
