Chapter 1 I am a heartthrob

I am Elena Fair.i sat in the bumpy carriage with my eyes closed, my body swaying uncontrollably with the rise and fall of the wheels. The road was uneven, and the lack of shock absorbers in the carriage made it impossible for me to maintain balance. I pressed my lips together tightly, afraid that if I opened my mouth, I might not be able to resist vomiting.

"We should reach your territory in about a day's time, Lady," said Knight Adams, who was riding alongside the carriage and leaned in to speak to me inside.Adams is a young and passionate knight.

This knight had been temporarily assigned to me for the journey. Our destination was a remote territory beyond several mountains, a private property of my family, which I had never visited. I had lived with my parents in the metropolis, but after my father passed away, my mother sent me to the city to study, hoping I would become a proper lady. My mother passed away a few years ago, and since then, the territory had been managed by trustees. However, in recent years, the territory had been hit by frequent natural disasters, gradually declining, and even the managers had left one by one. I had grown tired of life in the city-constant prayers, tedious social engagements, and the endless games played by suitors. Finally, I decided to leave the city early and return to take charge of my own territory .

Just as I was about to drift off to sleep, I heard the knights outside whispering. The two men, Adams and Raoul, were talking in hushed voices, and the subject of their conversation was me.

"The Lady is so beautiful," Adams said. "I swear in my life, I had never in my life seen anyone so beautiful ,Just one glance, and I was completely captivated. Being her knight is something I'll be proud of for the rest of my life."

"Yeah, everyone in the city says our Lady is the most beautiful woman in the world. If she were to touch my muscles, she'd definitely realize what a great catch I am," Raoul replied.

"Oh, please, are your muscles as nice as mine? I've had countless people compliment mine; have you ever had that kind of experience?"

"You're full of it! My body is way better than yours!"

"Ha! Are you saying my physique isn't good? Not only do I have a great body, but other parts of me are quite impressive too."

Me: "..."

Sorry, but I really don't care about your muscles or any other parts of you.

The coachman whispered from the side, "Maybe the Lady likes someone like me."

The two knights instantly united, mocking him together: "Like you? Thin as a twig? Don't dream!"

Feeling down, the coachman muttered, "The Lady smiled at me once. Maybe she likes someone like me..."

Adams retorted, "The Lady smiled at you out of politeness. Do you even know what politeness is?"

Cannot take it any more,Me: "Everyone shut up. Start sleeping now."

The world outside instantly fell silent.

I couldn't understand it either-what on earth about me attracted these people? Everyone seemed to be infatuated with me, as if Cupid had shot them all with arrows the moment they laid eyes on me, and in their hearts, it wasn't just one arrow but a whole quiver.

In the metropolis, there was once a young knight who insisted on writing me a love letter every day, and even distributed flyers for me:Elena Fair,Her eyes sparkled like the most radiant gems in the world, shining with an alluring brilliance. Her smile was as refreshing as a spring breeze, making one feel as if being bathed in the warmth spring. Her posture was noble and graceful, like a magnificent fairy ,untainted by the hardships of the world.

When I saw his flyer about me,me:"..."

Even my maid, Mary, was like that. She was always so devoted and cheerful, her face lit up with a smile every time she worked, as if being around me was the greatest joy in her life. She once told the other servants that working for someone as beautiful as me was the highest honor, and that she had no reason to ever feel troubled. Although Mary was not a talkative person, her attitude made every day feel like a celebration.

The next morning, we continued on our way, and for once, the knights remained quiet. Mary went about her work as usual, adhering to the servant's rule of "to be seen, not heard." I finally enjoyed a moment of peace.

Perhaps being a lady is good. I could hide away in my own castle, go nowhere, and the world would be at peace.

However, this brief tranquility was soon shattered. Just as I was about to close my eyes and rest, Adams suddenly shouted, "Lady! There's someone collapsed on the road ahead!"

I asked, "What's going on?"

The coachman slowly brought the carriage to a stop.

Adams rode ahead, then shouted back to me, "Lady, he's not wearing any clothes! He's unconscious!"

Raoul added, "He's naked! He must be here to seduce you, Lady! You mustn't get out of the carriage! We'll take him away!"

I was stunned by their ridiculous thought process.

How could an unconscious person be here to seduce me? I got down from the carriage and looked at the man lying in the middle of the road. I swear, I had never seen anyone so beautiful in my life. He wasn't wearing any clothes, and his skin was as white as jade, yet he wasn't scrawny-his muscles were perfectly proportioned, and his abs were smooth and flawless. Even with his eyes closed, his face was breathtaking.

He had long golden hair, his curled lashes softly resting on his cheeks, highlighting his high nose and pale, delicate lips. There was something irresistible about him, a compelling urge to wake him just to see what those eyes might look like. Even lying there among the fallen leaves, he resembled a masterpiece of art, with every detail exquisitely crafted, a beauty that transcended the mortal world.

This man didn't seem like someone from this world at all.

The knights and coaachman remained unimpressed .To them, anyone who appeared before me was trying to seduce me, and this man must have found some novel way to do so.

Adams seemed regretful-perhaps he was thinking that if he had known this would work, he would've stripped and lain down in front of me himself. I glanced at Raoul, who wore the same expression; they had clearly thought the same thing.

I said, "Move him into the carriage."

The two knights exclaimed in unison, "Lady! He might be a spy!"

"Lady! He must have some ulterior motive! Don't be fooled by his appearance!"

I kept my face stern. "Now, move him into the carriage."

"Don't make me say it a second time, or you'll both be sent back to the city." In the end, they had no choice but to carry the man into the carriage. Adams even took off his own coat to cover him-though it was a bit small, with sleeves and pant legs too short.

As I looked at this exquisitely handsome man lying there quietly, I couldn't help but wonder: maybe I do judge people by their looks.

But really, someone as stunning as this man couldn't possibly fall in love with me at first sight like the others, right?

With a sigh, I leaned back in the corner of the carriage, lamenting: being a heartthrob by everyone is truly exhausting
