I was stabbed by a thug when the big screen on the street happened to be playing an interview with the film emperor, Fu Lingze. The reporter asked who I was to him, and he said, "She is my housekeeper." With just that one word, "housekeeper," he erased the ten years of love we had shared. I collapsed in a pool of blood, watching the big screen as he embraced the daughter of a billionaire, smiling with a look of indulgence. Three years later, he burst into my wedding ceremony, kneeling and begging for my forgiveness. I said, "I'm sorry, big star, but I've lost my memory and don't remember what our relationship was." My fiancé immediately played an old video: "Baby, look, he said with his own mouth that you are his housekeeper."

Chapter 1

When I was stabbed by the thug, the giant screen on the street was coincidentally broadcasting an interview with the movie star, Brenden.

The reporter asked who I was to him, and he replied, "She is my housekeeper."

With that single word, "housekeeper," he erased the ten years of love we had shared.

I lay in a pool of blood, watching the screen where he held the daughter of a billionaire, smiling indulgently.

Three years later, he burst into my wedding chapel, kneeling and begging for my forgiveness.

I said, "Sorry, big star, I have amnesia. I don't remember having any relationship with you."

My fiancé immediately played an old video: "Baby, look, he personally said you were his housekeeper."

On my 26th birthday, I prepared a table full of dishes.

But even by midnight, Brenden hadn't shown up.

When I checked my phone, the trending topic was "Brenden's High-Profile Birthday Celebration for Global Harmony Group Heiress."

It turned out today was also Jennifer's birthday, the daughter of the chairman of Global Harmony Group.

Brenden was busy celebrating with her, ignoring the dozens of messages I had sent him.

In the photo Jennifer posted on Twitter, she looked radiant and happy.

Brenden stood behind her, dressed in white, looking handsome and dashing, his gaze at her incredibly tender.

He hadn't looked at me with such tenderness in a long time.

I had been with him for ten years, watching him grow from a high school boy to an unknown actor, and then into a shining star.

But the entertainment industry had changed him too much.

To become famous, he had to curry favor with the powerful and climb up by any means necessary.

And I, with my ordinary background, was of no help to him.

He became increasingly indifferent to me, sometimes not contacting me for a whole month.

"Let's break up."

I sent him one last message, then blocked and deleted him.

Then I cried my eyes out, downing six bottles of beer by myself.

In the middle of the night, someone suddenly picked me up by the waist. "Dare to break up with me?

Malinda, you've got guts!" I opened my eyes to see Brenden, his eyes bloodshot, his expression fierce, his clothes soaked with the cold dew of the night.

"I've been running around like crazy, didn't even have time to drink water, and drove 300 kilometers to get here..." "Don't touch me! I've already broken up with you."

I struggled hard, but he threw me onto the bed.

His burning kisses fell densely, like burning embers, on my lips, cheeks, neck, and chest... That night, he was utterly wild.

At dawn, he got dressed and leaned on the bed, coaxing me in a deep voice.

"Malinda, I have to attend a film festival today. I'll come back tonight to have dinner with you. I want braised carp."

It was very cold outside. My whole body ached, but I still insisted on walking him downstairs.

I never expected to be surrounded by over ten paparazzi, who took photos like crazy.

In less than half an hour, our photos were trending: "Movie Star Brenden Suspected of Night Meeting with Unknown Girlfriend."

In the photos, I was bare-faced, wearing a bulky black down jacket.

The comments were all scolding me: "Who is this? Punching above her weight!" "There's no way he has such bad taste!" "Who is this nobody?

Stop trying to latch onto him!" Brenden had no response.

He was busy attending the festival and started ignoring my messages again.

Holding my phone, my heart gradually grew cold.

It seemed he didn't want to make our ten-year relationship public.

I would always be his nameless shadow.

He probably wouldn't come tonight.

But I still hoped for a miracle, so I went to the supermarket to buy carp.

On the way, I suddenly saw two old men harassing a schoolgirl in uniform.

A sense of justice made me rush over to stop them. "Let her go! Or I'll call the police!" "Who the hell are you to ruin my fun?"

One of the drunken old men grabbed my collar.

The next moment, I felt a searing pain in my lower back.

He had stabbed me with a fruit knife.

The shock left my mind blank.

At that moment, the Trade Commerce Center across the street was brightly lit, and the 5D naked-eye screen was broadcasting the film festival.

Brenden's face was incredibly handsome as he smiled at the camera and said, "I want to clarify today's rumor-the woman the paparazzi photographed is not my girlfriend. She is my housekeeper. We only have an employer-employee relationship."

Housekeeper.

He said I was a housekeeper.

Our ten years of love collapsed in that moment.

I lay in a pool of blood, my heart broke into a million pieces.

For five years, I lived for Marcus, my boss-a phantom in the shadows, cleaning up his messes, raising his son, Leo, and silently loving him. I secretly nursed a fragile hope, even as he brushed off my unspoken feelings with a dismissive, "You're too young, Ava. Don't get tied down with an old man like me." Yet, in the next breath, he' d ask me to pick up Leo from school. Then came the corporate espionage, a mission that went sideways fast, and Marcus was captured. The rival CEO, a ruthless man named Victor Thorne, contacted me, demanding my deadliest secret-a vulnerability I' d found in his company's system. I gave it up without a second thought; Marcus' s life was worth any cost. He came back shaken but unharmed, and I felt hollowed out, used. The next day, I heard him talking to our PR manager, Celeste. "She always tried to get me to commit. Never met such a desperate woman!" Celeste purred, "You have to admit, she's useful." "Useful?" Marcus scoffed. "If she wasn't so good at digging up dirt, I would have fired her years ago! Her puppy-dog eyes are exhausting." My world shattered. Every sacrifice, every late night, every ounce of love I' d poured into him, into his son-it was all a joke, a convenience. I was just…useful. My heart didn' t just break; it disintegrated. I realized I' d mistaken a job for a home, a boss for a savior. Later that week, everything fell apart even more. A routine operation turned into an ambush, and gunfire erupted. A bullet tore through my shoulder. Another grazed my side. Pain exploded through me. The last thing I heard before darkness consumed me was Marcus' s frantic cry over the comms system: "Ava! No! Please, God, please, bring her back to me..." Too little, too late.

For seventeen years, I was the crown jewel of the Kensington empire, the perfect daughter groomed for a royal future. Then, a cream-colored envelope landed in my lap, bearing a gold crest and a truth that turned my world into ice. The DNA test result was a cold, hard zero percent-I wasn't a Kensington. Before the ink could even dry, my parents invited my replacement, a girl named Alleen, into the drawing room and treated me like a trespasser in my own home. My mother, who once hosted galas in my honor, wouldn't even look me in the eye as she stroked Alleen's arm, whispering that she was finally "safe." My father handed me a one-million-dollar check-a mere tip for a billionaire-and told me to leave immediately to avoid tanking the company's stock price. "You're a thief! You lived my life, you spent my money, and you don't get to keep the loot!" Alleen shrieked, trying to claw the designer jacket off my shoulders while my "parents" watched with clinical detachment. I was dumped on a gritty sidewalk in Queens with nothing but three trunks and the address of a struggling laborer I was now supposed to call "Dad." I traded a marble mansion for a crumbling walk-up where the air smelled of exhaust and my new bedroom was a literal storage closet. My biological family thought I was a broken princess, and the Kensingtons thought they had successfully erased me with a payoff and a non-disclosure agreement. They had no idea that while I was hauling trunks up four flights of stairs, my secret media empire was already preparing to move against them. As I sat on a thin mattress in the dark, I opened my encrypted laptop and sent a single command that would cost my former father ten million dollars by breakfast. They thought they were throwing me to the wolves, but they forgot one thing: I'm the one who leads the pack.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
