A Crazy night with the Mafia Alpha Chapter 1 One million ticket

KIARA'S POV

Are you sure about this Mila?" I look at my friend and then at my wristwatch. It is already past 10 pm. I look back once again, wanting to go back home.

The closer we get to the biviclub, the more goosebumps I get. I wasn't only nervous but anxious.

At first, I never wanted to go to the biviclub, for the billionaire's party. Mila had insisted. Now I feel so tensed the closer I get to the club building. Everything about the party is weird, the fact that all girls have to wear masks. Dress in black sleeveless short gowns. Wear silver hills. Get a ticket. Once in, you can't leave until it's 4 am. All this drew a suspicious image in my head.

"We are here already" Mila responded. She seems a bit annoyed. She thinks that she did me a huge favor by getting me a ticket. A ticket that would have cost me a fortune if I bought it with my money. But it wasn't. If not that I needed money desperately for my grandma's surgery, I won't have allowed her to brainwash me with the excuse that I would find help from a rich billionaire. My grandma suddenly slumped one early morning. And now the doctor is requesting a large sum of money. How could I gather that much? I was only a chef and the more annoying fact is that I am the only family she had now.

Once we got to the entrance, the security man requested our ticket. I dig my hand into my little purse and bring out what looks like an invitation card. It was the ticket. I extend the ticket to the man. He returned it after looking closely at me and then at the screen of his laptop. He did the same to Mila.

"Why did he look at me like that"

" He will check every face that enters here. To confirm the one-million ticket is not stolen."

" And how was my face recorded there, if I'm not mistaken, you said you got the tickets for a kiss?"

" I sent him your photograph. Yes! For a kiss, everyone has their own talent" she winked at me.

"Hmm... I have a bad feeling"

"About what? ...this? Look, Kiara, it's your first time at a party, I also felt the same way at James' party, but look who is here, alive and dripping in cash" Mila thinks that nonsense will calm me. I pretend not to be disgusted by it. She kept on Chirping. I ignore her and look around the vicinity, everywhere is quiet and dark. I can feel a knot in my stomach for the second time. The only important thing I catch from what she is saying is "he said he'd be present here, once I meet him, you are on your own. Make sure to enjoy the night. Find yourself a man! You may...

"That's enough" I get angry and interrupt her. She is fond of turning everything into a plus. I hate it when she does that. Ignoring the negative possible outcome.

She hisses and grabs my hand and pulls me forward. I sheepishly followed. We go through the hallway and finally, enter a large room filled with loud music. I cover my face with my mask and walk nervously to a corner.

The large sophisticated room was lit up with disco lights. The mask hides everyone's identity but the disco light made it look as if one girl appeared many times due to similar outfits.

The feeling of anxiety never left me. The knot I felt in my stomach was getting tight. If only I knew what was awaiting me, I would quickly turn back and go back home without giving a damn. But unfortunately, I didn't.

I walk further into the building. embarrassed by the continuous stare from men. I feel I am naked before their eyes. I try drawing my gown down a little bit, but that exposed my bobs the more.

"It's not like they will eat you," Mila says. She noticed how shaky I have become. The time isn't going fast, still 10:30 pm. I can't believe I will stay here until it's 4 am. I gave her a fake smile and grab a glass from the waiter/waitress. Their identities are hidden as well. They had their face covered with masks. All are dressed in plain black trousers, white collar shirts, sleeveless black jackets, and hand gloves.

I notice that unlike me, everyone present has a great desire. I seem to be the only one forced to attend one. I roll my eyes at the masked faces. Everyone is paired. Gays, lesbians, and straight ones.

My mind went blank as I stare at the crowd, noting every detail. Suddenly, eyes caught an interesting couple. She was acting shy and innocent. Looking at her, you will notice she's faking. He tried to kiss her but she turn her face away. He gets up and grabs her hand as she gave him a signal. I watched as he pinned her to do wall and... I couldn't stare anymore.

I shifted my gaze to my side and surprisingly, Mila was gone. I search the whole room for her with my eyes and finally see someone that wore the design of the gown she wore earlier. With her covered face, it was impossible to know if she was really the one. She is sitting with a guy. He must be the guy that she came here for. His face was covered with a mask too, whether he is handsome or not I can't tell.

I took a deep sip of the deep red wine and exhale. I assured myself the hundredth time that I only came here because Mila wanted me to and not to engage in any sexual escapades.

"Why am I here, I murmur, as if someone is eavesdropping. I gulped down the last few contents of my glass and with my nervous hands, I grab another once a waiter came around.

Many eyes were still staring at me. Even those with their partner. " I don't like the way they look at me," I say a bit loudly.

" How do they look ' at a sexy and beautiful girl," I noticed an unfamiliar feminine voice beside me. I turned to my side and saw a slim figure. I move away from her seductive moves.

She must be a lesbian. Just like in the movies, where the lesbians go around looking for their hordes to fuck. she stared seductively at me. "I am not into girls. I said with a cool smile. I loved the content in my glass, it helps relax a bit. I continue to study the guests, ignoring the girl beside me.

She picks a glass from a waiter passing and spatters the contents on me...

I shut my eyes and with my hands blocked the content from touching my face. I stayed in that manner for minutes but I didn't feel my body wet. Was I hallucinating? How could the liquid I saw leaving the glass not on me yet?

I opened my eyes to find out myself, someone had blocked the wine from splashing on me. His face isn't t clear due to his mask but his stature was great.

"Don't be harsh bitch! " he uttered the last word raucously stretching the letter. The girl snarled and left.

"It's alright," said the man, with a charming smile. I bet his face would look good too. He does not prompt me with conflicting feelings. I felt as comfortable as I would feel beside Mila. I can see how balanced he is at the moment.

"Thank y... " I am still saying but he turns around and leaves without another word. I don't understand what I did wrong. Maybe my gestures drive him away, I remember reading novels about a party where every gesture has its meaning. Whether you should accept someone or reject him are all with gestures. Words have no power there. I only dressed my hair that was almost covering my eyes. Should I chase after him to help him clean up the mess? ... No! , something else might happen. If this truly is the kind of party where words are powerless, he might misunderstand and think that I am interested in him

I look around, confused. I wanted to find my friend to clear up my confusion but she was nowhere to be found. All the people around me were in pairs. I was the only one alone. I felt a bit isolated.

I take another glass of wine. This will be the last, I promised myself. I wouldn't like to get drunk in this kind of atmosphere. I sip the content slowly. The feeling of wanting to be with someone disappeared.

I really wish I could be on my cozy bed right now, covering my whole body with my blanket. That feeling is all I want right now. This will be the last time I will ever let myself be persuaded and brought to a place I didn't want to be. Not by anyone, not even Mila

The atmosphere is getting tenser for me. Thanks to the glass of heaven wine in my hand. It gives me an elated feeling. I picked an interesting couple and focused on them. It's lovely watching the two love birds. Hmmm, having a boyfriend might be interesting. I never tried again since after my liaison with Micheal. He promised to stand by me but where is he now? We broke up after I denied him sex. He claimed he would never date a woman that is not sex-driven. That was when I concluded that men are really only after your pants, nothing more. It's been 3 years now.

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
