Mafia's princess Chapter 1 Annabelle

A slender figure sat down with several boxes outside crying, anyone who'd walk past her will just mind their business.

"Why was I so stupid? Why did I trust him" She cried harder trying to stop but she couldn't stop.

"Ma'am you have to leave this place" A young man dressed in a security outfit approached her. The lady slowly looked up and she wiped her tears, after a minute she organized her boxes and carried them away from the majestic estate.

Her paths were never like this and her story wasn't supposed to have that kind of ending who'd believe she's a wealthy CEO owning the greatest chain of hotels in the country.

"Annabelle" A voice called from behind and she looked back, when she saw the person she chuckled dryly.

"My nemesis" Annabelle muttered as the figure walked closer to her with tons of bodyguards behind him.

"My sweet Annabelle how have you been. It's been 2 days since you've been declared bankrupt how are you feeling right now" He asked with a smirk playing on his face.

Annabelle didn't respond all she did was stare at him like she didn't acknowledge his presence which made him very angry.

"Annabelle you've grown some wings these last few days. Aren't you going to beg me to spare your miserable life" he asked and she laughed.

"Ohh please help me" Annabelle mimicked using a high pitched childish tone. "Was that what you were expecting Harry Potter. That's never going to happen just wait I'd come for you" Annabelle said with a glare.

"Ohh I'm scared" Harry let out a mocking laughter. "I thought it was going to be hard to be able to get the rest of your properties but it was damn easy. You gave it to me what a stupid girl you are" Harry laughed again making Annabelle clench her fist.

"I won, just admit it. And I deposited a sum of 500 thousand dollars into your account to prove I still love you a little bit. You'd have to get a job" Harry let out a sigh.

"I'd be willing to help you get a nice paying job if we can have a nice time together" Harry said when he got closer to her. Annabelle slapped his hand off her hair causing him to move back in laughter.

"I'd rather die than ask for help from you" Annabelle snapped at him. "I don't want all this beauty to go down the drain. You're the only woman who had managed to resist my body. The only regret I have is that I didn't fuck you" Harry smirked.

"But it's not too late, I'm offering to help even when I know you might not let me help you but my offer still stands" Harry said and began to walk away.

"Ohh wait I forgot, I also found an apartment too. I paid a month's rent so you don't have to worry about rent for the first month while you're adapting" Harry said and stretched out a card.

"That's the address" Harry said but she didn't collect the card from him so he placed it on her head and walked into his Lamborghini.

When his car was out of sight Annabelle took the card from her head and she sighed.

"I'd make that bastard pay " Annabelle muttered with a year dropping from her eyes.

Few minutes later a cab dropped Annabelle in front of a residence, to be precise a bungalow. Annabelle came down from the cab while the cab driver took out her boxes. "Are you sure this is the address I gave you" Annabelle asked a little bit surprised.

"Yes ma'am" the driver replied causing Annabelle to sigh.

Annabelle has expected Harry to get a house for her in a swamp residence screaming poverty with a frightening environment but she was wrong. The environment was satisfying apart from the road down to the house which was bumpy and less friendly.

The bungalow was painted all white making it scream dominance and power but then she didn't know why Harry who hated her will give her a house which she could stay in without much complaints.

Despite the fact that the house was manageable Annabelle sat on the floor still angry as she began to remember how she lived her extravagant lifestyle.

3 months ago........

Annabelle was sitting on a majestic chair in a well architecturally designed setting. Annabelle let her hair down which made her look more beautiful and cold at the same time like an ice queen.

Annabelle was going through an important document when the door suddenly opened. Annabelle looked up wondering who had the guts to open the door when she has given an order against that. When Annabelle saw it was Harry she sighed.

"You told your PA not to let me in" Harry questioned as he walked closer to Annabelle a little bit angry.

"I didn't okay. I told her not to let anyone in, she probably mistook you as anyone. I'd cut off her bonus for this month to teach her a lesson" Annabelle said with a smile hopefully Harry's anger level will be lowered.

"You better. She has seen me here millions of times and she knows we're dating and yet she did that" Harry continued talking while Annabelle walked with him to the couch. "She's so dense not to read the writing on the wall. Let's forget about her, I missed you" Annabelle started before hugging him tightly.

"I missed you too. Are you free tonight" Harry said after breaking the hug.

"Let's attend a gala" Harry said not waiting for her reply.

"I need to introduce you to my friends from France" Harry continued while Annabelle never said a word.

"Here you go again Harry, introducing me to your friends. You know I don't like that show off shits you do" Annabelle sulked.

"I'm sorry but they are underestimating you, I mean you won the title of the most beautiful woman in the country so I can't let those brats bring you down" Annabelle just sighed, she couldn't resist Harry.

"Ok I'd go with you if that's what you want but first question" Annabelle showed him her finger which had a ring. "What's wrong?"Harry asked not understanding her point.

"We've been engaged for 2 months and we've not started planning our wedding are you trying to keep me as your fiance forever" Annabelle asked with an angry look.

"Okay please calm down babe, it's not like I don't want to marry you, it's just that.......... I'm scared"Harry explained making Annabelle scoff.

"Scared? Scared? Then why did you propose then" Annabelle was already angry so she stood up from the couch.

"Not that scared, I just don't know if I'd be the perfect husband and I don't want you to see my flaws. I don't know what to say but I still love you and I don't want you to leave me" Harry said with a sad expression.

"No honey I can't leave you" Annabelle assured as she cupped his face in her hands.

"I don't care about your flaws. Nobody is perfect we all try to be one so I'm not expecting a perfect husband either. We will definitely have our fights in between but I'd still love you despite knowing that" Annabelle said emotionally almost crying. Harry immediately hugged her so tight.

"I'm sorry for being a weakling" Harry sobbed Annabelle just chuckled while crying.

"It's okay honey"

"Miss, Miss, Miss" A voice snapped Annabelle back to the real world.

"Huh"

"You've been sitting here for about 5 minutes so I just want to know why you're here" an old man asked. "Ohh I'm sorry" Annabelle quickly stood up.

"Is this the yang residence" Annabelle asked just to be sure. "Yes it is" The old man replied as he pointed to a billboard which had "The Yang's" On it. "Ohh, erm I was directed to come here and my one month rent had been paid" Annabelle said awkwardly.

"Miss Annabelle? "He asked and she nodded her head. "Ohh please come in" the old man said as they both walked in.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
