Chapter 1 Legends under the moonlight

At Shadowheart Pack

Elara, a woman of wisdom and grace, sat among a small gathering of children from the pack under the enchanting glow of the moonlit night. The soft whispers of the night breeze danced around them, carrying with it the magic of ancient tales and legends. Nestled around a crackling fire, their eager faces illuminated by the flickering flames, they awaited Elara's words with bated breath.

"Bring it on, we have been waiting." One of the children said with an eager look on her face and Elara chuckled softly.

"Tonight," Elara began, her voice carrying a mystical cadence that captivated her audience, "I shall tell you the tale of a woman unlike any other. A woman whose name echoed through the annals of history, revered and feared in equal measure. Her name was Aria Moon."

The children leaned in closer, their eyes wide with anticipation as Elara weaved her tale, her words painting vivid images in their minds.

"Aria Moon was not merely a queen; she was a goddess in her own right, ruling over the kingdom of Lysandra with a strength and grace unmatched by any other. Her kingdom, nestled in the heart of the forest, was a beacon of prosperity and power. Under her reign, they conquered every war, their enemies quivering in fear at the mere mention of her name."

Elara's voice carried the weight of centuries-old legends, each word dripping with reverence and awe as she described the indomitable queen.

"But it was not just her strength in battle that made Aria Moon a legend," Elara continued, her eyes sparkling with the fervor of a storyteller lost in her own tale. "She possessed a power unlike any other known to man-the Moonfire."

As Elara spoke those words, a hush fell over the gathering, the children leaning in even closer, their imaginations ignited by the promise of magic and wonder.

"Moonfire," Elara whispered, her voice tinged with reverence, "granted Aria Moon the strength of a thousand warriors, the agility of a fleet-footed wolf, and the resilience of the ancient oaks that guarded their kingdom. With the energy of the moon coursing through her veins, she was unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with."

The children gasped in awe, their eyes wide with wonder as they envisioned the legendary queen, her silhouette illuminated by the silvery glow of the moon.

"So, you are trying to say there was no one to defeat her?" another one asked

"Of course, no one ever stood before her and won the battle my dear." She replied

"But," Elara paused dramatically, allowing the tension to hang in the air like a shimmering veil, "on Aria Moon's twenty-second birthday, fate intervened. That fateful night, she met a stranger..."

The children held their breath, their hearts pounding with anticipation as Elara's words lingered in the air, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. The crackling fire seemed to echo their silent anticipation, casting flickering shadows that danced across their eager faces.

And in that moment, under the watchful gaze of the moon, the legend of Aria Moon took on a life of its own, weaving its way into the hearts and minds of those who listened, leaving them spellbound and hungry for more.

"You do not have to starve us you know, tell us about it." One of them cried with a puppy face.

"Yes, I will tell you." She replied.

As Elara continued her tale, her voice took on a solemn tone, imbued with the weight of untold secrets and hidden truths.

"Aria Moon," she whispered, her words carrying a sense of melancholy, "met a hot stranger on that fateful night-a man whose presence ignited a flame within her soul." She paused, placing a subtle emphasis on the word 'hot', a mischievous twinkle in her eye that mirrored the intrigue of her young audience.

"Ohhhhhh" they cooed.

"Their encounter was fleeting, a single night of passion shrouded in mystery and desire. Aria never saw the man again, but the memory of their time together lingered like a haunting melody."

Weeks passed, and Aria's world was turned upside down when she discovered she was with child-a child conceived in secrecy, its origins known to none but its mother and the moon itself.

"In the kingdom of Lysandra, it was forbidden for the queen to bear children," Elara explained, her voice tinged with sadness.

"Oh! my goodness, aren't queens supposed to have offsprings?" one of them asked, her tone laced with sadness.

"My dear, that was the case there."

"But Aria refused to forsake her unborn child, even in the face of overwhelming opposition. She concealed her pregnancy for months, shielding her growing belly from prying eyes, but eventually, she could hide it no longer."

The children listened intently, their young minds grappling with the weight of Aria's sacrifice.

"When the truth was revealed, the people of Lysandra turned against their queen," Elara continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "Many demanded that she do the unthinkable-to rid herself of the child growing within her. But Aria could not bring herself to harm her own flesh and blood."

Despite possessing the power to quell the rebellion with a mere flick of her wrist, Aria chose a different path-a path of mercy and compassion.

"Rather than resorting to violence, Aria made a decision that would change the course of her destiny forever," Elara whispered, her words hanging in the air like a fragile thread. "Under the cloak of darkness, she fled from her kingdom, seeking refuge in the depths of a mystical forest known only as the Moonlit Grove."

There, beneath the watchful gaze of the moon spirit, Aria found solace and sanctuary. She gave birth to her child in the stillness of the night, her cries echoing through the ancient woods as she welcomed her daughter into the world.

"The moon spirit," Elara murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, "recognized Aria's sacrifice and bestowed upon her child a name-Lunara, a name that would echo through the ages as a symbol of hope and resilience."

But even as Aria embraced motherhood, her heart remained heavy with longing for the father of her child-a warrior of unparalleled strength and grace, known as Lord Aric of the Kingdom of Celestia.

She had no idea of his identity.

She only saw him as a random stranger.

"Lord Aric," Elara described, her voice filled with reverence, "was a man of unmatched beauty and power. With the ability to control gravity and manipulate fire, he was a force to be reckoned with."

But beyond his supernatural abilities, Lord Aric possessed a kindness and compassion that set him apart from his peers. His eyes, a mesmerizing shade of azure, held a depth of emotion that spoke volumes of his inner strength and resilience.

"For months, Lord Aric searched for Aria, his heart consumed by the desire to find the woman who had captured his soul," Elara explained, her voice tinged with longing. "But fate had other plans, and their reunion would be a journey fraught with danger and uncertainty."

As Elara's tale reached its climax, the children sat wide-eyed and spellbound, their imaginations ignited by the tale of Aria Moon and Lord Aric.

"Lord Aric," Elara continued, her voice taking on a reverent tone, "possessed not only the ability to control gravity and manipulate fire but also held a rare gift bestowed upon him by the ancient spirits of the Celestial Realm."

She paused for a moment, allowing the weight of her words to sink in, the children hanging on her every word with eager anticipation.

"Lord Aric possessed the power of telekinesis," Elara revealed, her voice filled with awe. "With but a thought, he could move objects with his mind, bending the very fabric of reality to his will."

The children gasped in wonder, their young minds struggling to comprehend the extent of Lord Aric's supernatural abilities.

"But did Lord Aric ever find Aria?" one of the children piped up, curiosity burning brightly in their eyes.

Elara's gaze softened, a knowing smile playing at the corners of her lips. "That, my dear child," she replied cryptically, "is a mystery that has yet to be solved. The ancient scrolls make no mention of their reunion, leaving their fate shrouded in uncertainty."

The children exchanged excited whispers amongst themselves, their imaginations running wild with possibilities. The mystery of Aria Moon and Lord Aric's whereabouts lingered in the air, casting a tantalizing allure that left them yearning for answers.

"And what about little Lunara?" another child asked, their voice filled with curiosity.

Elara's expression grew somber as she addressed the question. "The fate of Lunara remains a mystery to this day," she explained. "No one knows who took the baby from the Moonlit Grove, nor what became of her. Some say she was spirited away by the spirits of the forest, destined for greatness beyond our wildest dreams."

The children listened intently, their young hearts filled with wonder and intrigue. The legend of Aria Moon and Lord Aric had sparked a flame within them, igniting a thirst for adventure and discovery that would stay with them long into the night.

As the fire crackled and danced, casting flickering shadows across their eager faces, the children drifted off to sleep, their dreams filled with visions of moonlit forests, ancient powers, and the promise of a destiny yet to unfold. And overhead, the moon shone down upon them, its ethereal light bathing them in its mystical glow, a silent witness to the mysteries of the night.

"Oh...dear children." Elara sighed as she watched a few of them fall asleep.

Just then, Zara, one of the pack members walked up to her with a smile. "I see you told them night stories." She said to her.

"Yeah, the Moonfire story." She replied

"Oh, that tale...Aria Moon and Lord Aric." Zara chuckled lowly, "They might believe the story is true though."

"I think it's true you know; we never can tell." Elara replied and just then, one of the kids spoke up.

"How do we identify one? How do we know someone is one with the Moonfire ability?" She asked with a puppy face and Elara sighed.

"Well, her eyes would turn a shade of white during the activation of her powers, and it serve as a clear visual indication of her heightened abilities, adding a compelling visual component to her transformation. And also, her hair would turn white, this is all I know my dear." She replied
