In the Dreamrealm, darkness gathered like a stormy sea. Aethon, the last of the ancient Dreamweavers, stood alone. His eyes, once bright with the magic of the realm, had dimmed. The Dreamkillers, malevolent beings from a realm of darkness, had been invading the Dreamrealm, corrupting the dreams of mortals and feeding on their negative emotions. Their presence had already begun to unravel the fabric of the realm. They had killed the previous Dreamweavers Aethon knew that he was the last defense against the Dreamkillers. He had maintained the balance of the Dreamrealm for centuries, but his powers were waning. The realm was dying, and Aethon knew that he would soon follow. "The time of the Last Dreamweaver is near," Aethon whispered, his voice carried away by the whispers of the forest. "The balance of the Dreamrealm will soon be shattered, and the world will be plunged into darkness." As Aethon spoke, the orb, a glowing relic of the ancient Dreamweavers, began to pulsate with energy. It was the key to restoring the balance of the Dreamrealm, but it was also the target of the Dreamkillers' desire. With a final burst of energy, Aethon sent the orb flying toward the mortal realm, hoping that it would find its way to the one who could wield its power. The orb soared through the skies, leaving a trail of glittering stardust in its wake. It fell toward the lake, its glow illuminating the dark waters. And then, it disappeared beneath the surface, leaving behind a ripple of energy that would change the course of history. Who will wield it??? Is the dreamrealm safe or will it be safe??? Was Aethon killed by the dreamkillers because they know the orb is with him??? Why are the dreamkillers after the orb???? Ride with me in this fantasy journey to find out.

The last Dreamweaver Chapter 1 The Dream orb

As Aethon vanished, the orb floated gently through the air, its soft glow illuminating the surrounding trees.

But in its descent, the orb encountered an unexpected obstacle: the tranquil surface of a nearby lake.

With a faint ripple, the orb touched the water's surface and sank beneath the waves. The glow grew fainter, until it was nothing more than a distant, flickering light.

The lake's inhabitants, a school of curious fish, darted towards the orb, their scales shimmering in the fading light. As they approached, the orb's glow began to pulse, casting an ethereal radiance across the lake floor.

As the fish got close, they couldn't see the orb clearly cause of the glow, so they swam away.

Lyra's POV

I stay in a small village nestled between the lake's shores and the rolling hills beyond, am a young woman named Lyra, I've always lived a simple life.

I spent my days helping my mother with our family's bakery, famous for its sweet pastries and warm bread.

My nights, however, were a different story.

I would often slip away from the village, drawn to the lake's tranquil surface and the mysteries that lay beneath.

The villagers whispered about strange occurrences and unexplained lights on the lake, but I just felt an inexplicable connection to the water.

On this particular evening, I was walking along the lake's shore, my feet carrying me towards the spot where the orb had sunk beneath the waves. At first, I felt an unusual energy in the air, like the whisper of a secret only I could hear.

As I approached the lake's edge, I noticed a faint, pulsating glow emanating from beneath the surface. I felt an overwhelming sense of curiosity and wonder.

Without hesitation, I slipped off my shoes and dove into the lake's cool, dark waters. The glow grew brighter as I swam deeper, illuminating the lake's floor and revealing a world teeming with life.

I was too curious to know the only little light in this dark lake, I've never seen a glow in this water before, maybe it's a gold fish that has light...

As I descended, the water pressure built in my ears, but I didn't stop until I reached the source of the glow: the orb.

It pulsed with an otherworldly energy, casting an ethereal light across the lake floor.

I reached out a hand, and as my fingers made contact with the orb, I felt a sudden jolt of electricity. The world around me began to blur and distort, like the reflection on the surface of the lake.

Visions flooded my mind: glimpses of ancient civilizations, mystical creatures, and forgotten magic. The orb was revealing its secrets to me, and I felt my mind expanding, as if it was being reshaped by the knowledge.

The visions revealed to me were fragmented and disjointed, like shards of a broken mirror. I saw glimpses of an ancient city, its towers and spires reaching toward the sky like giant's fangs. The city was alive, its buildings pulsing with a vibrant, crystalline energy.

I saw a great tree, its trunk as wide as a castle wall, its branches stretching toward the heavens like a ladder of light. The tree was surrounded by creatures unlike any I had ever seen: beings made of pure light, their forms shifting and flowing like the aurora borealis.

Then I saw a figure, a woman with skin as white as marble and hair as black as the night sky. The woman's eyes burned with an inner fire, and I felt a deep sense of connection to her, as if we shared a secret that only us could understand.

The visions faded, leaving me feeling stunned and disoriented. I realized that I am still underwater, the orb's glow surrounding me like a halo. I felt changed, as if the visions had awakened a part of me that had long been dormant.

I slowly swam back to the surface, the orb's glow fading into the distance. As I broke through the water's surface, I gasped for air, feeling a mix of relief and disorientation.

"Oh the gods, what just happened?" I asked myself.

I couldn't wrap my head around all that has just happened, it happened so fast.

I looked around, taking in the familiar sights of the lake's shore. The sun was dipping below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape. I felt a sense of unease, as if I had been away for a long time, even though only a few minutes had passed.

As I swam toward the shore, I noticed a figure waiting for me.

Oh It's my best friend, Kael, who obviously would had been searching for me everywhere.

"Lyra, where have you been?" Kael asked, helping me out of the water.

"I was worried sick about you." He said with deep concern.

I hesitated, unsure of how to explain my experience. I knew that Kael would think I am crazy if I tell him about the visions and the orb.

"I just went for a swim," I said finally, trying to sound casual.

"I lost track of time." I lied.

Kael looked at me skeptically, but he didn't press the issue.

"Well, you're safe now," he said. "Let's get you home."

As we walked back to the village, I couldn't shake the feeling that my life had changed forever. I had caught a glimpse of a hidden world, a world that lay just beyond the edge of reality.

As me and Kael walked back to the village, a dark presence stirred in the shadows.

It's the dreamkillers' shadows.

The Dreamkillers, ancient beings from a realm of darkness, had been seeking to invade the Dreamrealm for centuries. They fed on the negative emotions of mortals, growing stronger with each nightmare they induced.

The Dreamkillers were led by a powerful and malevolent entity known as Malakai. His presence was a dark stain on the fabric of the Dreamrealm, and his influence had already begun to corrupt the dreams of mortals.

Malakar's power was growing by the day, and the Dreamrealm was beginning to unravel. The dreams of mortals were becoming increasingly dark and twisted, reflecting the evil that lurked within the shadows.

The orb, was a key part of the Dreamrealm's defense against the Dreamkillers. It held the power to heal the dreams of mortals and push back against the darkness that threatened to consume the Dreamrealm.

But Lyra, unaware of the orb's true power, had yet to realize her role in the battle against the Dreamkillers. And Malakar, sensing the orb's presence, would stop at nothing to claim it and crush the last remnants of the Dreamrealm's defenses.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.
