Mafia Lord's Woman Chapter 1 Blood Thirst

Ignazio

I entered my dungeon, and they parted the way for me as I made my way into the cell where my prisoner was kept.

He was one of my men, but not anymore; one of the people I hated more than thieves are snitches. 'No, it won't end well for them in my hands.'

My right-hand man, Romano, opened the door for me, and I entered. I pulled a chair in front of him and sat down. "Give me the utensils." I ordered while rolling up the hand of my black shirt.

"Don please; it's all a misunderstanding." The culprit trembled on the chair he was tied to.

'I know if I won't give him an easy death; that's why I requested the utensils, a code word for what you'll call sharp objects; they just happened to be shapers and deadlier.

"Don please; it's not what you think." He cried out at the sight of the objects.

I silently collected the opened box of objects and placed them on the floor. "Do you want to start talking, or do I have to make you?" I reach for the pinches and toy with it.

"It's not me, don; it's all a mistake." He continued to insist.

'He must have taken me for a fool if he thinks he can still get out of this alive. I have the solid evidence of his crime, but he will be the one to confess to it himself; I won't spell it out to him. He will admit to his crimes and welcome his punishment gladly. He is a lesson to everyone of them, my reason for making them all present to witness his punishment.'

I took his hand and began to pull his fingers as his screams of agony filled the air. I pulled all the five nails out, then I dropped the pinches and picked up a trauma shears scissor.

"I'll talk, I will talk." He sang out, and I paused my hand as I watched him tremble with tears and snort rolling down his face. "I was threatened. I was threatened with my family."

I grabbed his hand and cut off his thumb, and his wailing filled the air again. The blood splattered on my face, but I don't care as I move on to the next finger and cut it off. He passed out from the pain, but I'm not done with him.

One of my men stepped forward and revived him with electric shocks; he grasped back to life, and I continued with him.

"Pleaseee, they offered to pay me a twice my daily share for giving them the information of your shipment movements. I-I also cut back on the money that was made each day, I added it to my account." He wailed, twisting his body in agony as he confessed.

"Now I am going to make it easy for you." I stood up and wiped the blood off my hands.

"T-thank you, don." He breathed out. I signalled to the boys for the hidden treatment, and I collected the bucket from him.

"D-don, don-n." He cried, trembling all over. I raised the bucket and poured the hot water all over him from above.

He gave out a shout of terror as the water poured down on him. I stopped when he became stiff and didn't make a sound anymore.

"Check him if he's dead." I whispered, dropping the empty bucket.

"He's out." I heard him say, but I pulled out my pistol still. I stared into the empty eyes of the culprit and pulled a bullet in his head. "Burn him till he turns ashes; that's what he gets for being a thief and a snitch."

I walked out and went out of the underground with my right hand man on my heels. I took the elevator and went upstairs to my office while Romano closed the door behind me.

"What was that about?" He stood above me as I sat down in my chair.

He is the only one who can give me a earful when we're alone. We are friends, but he's more than that; he is my savior.

On the brink of death, after I had been forced to watch my pregnant wife being shot while I couldn't do anything. Several shots were fired at me after, and I lost consciousness. I thought I had died until I woke up days later with several bullet wounds and one that slightly missed my heart.

It was a blessing, the nurse said, but I know it's not because my wife and baby is never coming back. Romano saved me and has been with me ever since building this mafia family with me.

"You killed him already, but do you have to add a bullet to it? I think it's time you take your long overdue vacation; you need it. Take a break and enjoy life again; stop being hard on yourself." He walked to the door and placed his hands on the handle. "You can go to any of your vacation houses, I will be seeing you in a week time. Why the houses anyway if you won't be using them." He went out and shut the door, leaving me to my thoughts.

'I guess I can't put it off anymore' I picked up my phone and stood up as I made a call to my driver.

"Bring the car to the front; I am coming out now." I ended the call and went out.

I stepped out of the elevator and entered the opened waiting car. "To the house," I said and rested my head on the backrest.

The car drove out of the clubhouse with my bodyguard's car right behind. The car drove past the security and entered the compound. The car was opened, and I stepped out and entered the house.

"Master." The familiar voice of my housekeeper welcomed me.

"Madam Morgana." She's come to mean a lot to me ever since she came to work for me and we got close.

She treated me as her son but won't drop the master title even though I asked her to. "I am leaving for Rome for a week; I will leave the house in your care. If there's anything you need, you can always call me though."

I haven't decided where to go, but since I have blurted out Rome, then that's where I'll be heading.

"I will help you pack your bags then." She made for the stairs.

"There's no need for that; I have an entire wardrobe full of my stuff there. Just call them and let them know I'm on my way. Thank you, Madam Morgana."

I called my assistant as I made my way upstairs to my room. "Have my helicopter ready in an hour; I am leaving for Rome." I got out of my bloody clothes and entered the shower.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

My cousin Hailey paid a dock worker to assault me just to ruin my engagement. To survive the military-grade aphrodisiac she poisoned me with, I stumbled into a walk-in freezer and threw myself onto the only source of cold I could find-a man paralyzed by unnatural hypothermia. It was a desperate, primal exchange of my heat for his ice just to keep my heart from stopping. But when Hailey threw open the heavy iron door, leading my fiancé and the entire Bolton family to witness my "shame," her triumphant grin instantly vanished. She hadn't caught me with a low-life thug. She had caught me straddling Demetrius Maddox, the ruthless Iron King of Chicago. The air in the room dropped to absolute zero. My grandmother screamed in horror, and my father turned the color of ash. Hailey, blinded by jealousy, tried to double down. She pointed a manicured finger at the deadliest man in the city and called him a "nameless muscle" I picked up to defile the family name. She didn't realize she had just signed her own death warrant. I didn't cower. I realized this was the only chance to survive the family that wanted me dead. I walked up to the Devil himself, my body still humming with the poison, and looked him in the eye. "Kill me, and the cold inside you wins," I whispered, knowing he was dying from the inverse of my own poison. "I am the only doctor who knows how to cure you." Demetrius tightened his hand around my throat, his dark eyes assessing my worth. "Prove it," he growled. I turned back to my trembling cousin and signaled the enforcer to hand me the whip.

I stood in the pouring rain at my father-in-law's funeral, the heels of my black pumps sinking into the mud. I was Mrs. Vargas, the wife of New York's most powerful billionaire, yet I was standing at the edge of the crowd like a forgotten statue. Ten feet away, under the dry shelter of the family tent, my husband Hayes held another woman against his chest. It wasn't me he was whispering comfort to; it was Felicity, his late brother's widow and childhood sweetheart. The humiliation didn't end at the cemetery. Hayes moved Felicity and her son into our home, relegating me to the guest wing while she took over the primary suites. He watched silently as her son smashed the only photograph of my deceased parents, then demanded I apologize for "scaring" the boy with my reaction. When Felicity's negligence ruined a twelve-million-dollar family heirloom, Hayes had the audacity to ask me to use my own savings to buy her a "consolation" engagement ring. He treated me like a parasite, never realizing I was a brilliant scientist with a hidden fortune and three patents to my name. I realized then that our three-year marriage was a hollow farce. Hayes had never even touched me, claiming he wanted to "remain pure" for his memory of Felicity. I was nothing more than a business merger, a smudge on the lens of the perfect family portrait he was building with another man's widow. The breaking point came during a lethal blizzard. Hayes promised to accompany me to my family's mandatory gala-a tradition where my absence meant a death sentence. But at the last second, he stood me up to stay home and tend to Felicity's stubbed toe. Left alone to face the wrath of the Santos Matriarch, I was forced to kneel in the freezing snow as punishment until my lungs began to fail and my vision blurred. Just as the darkness started to take me, a black Maybach smashed through the iron gates. My exiled brother, the man the world calls "The Wolf," stepped out of the storm to reclaim what Hayes had discarded. Hayes thought I was a helpless doll who couldn't survive a day without his trust fund, but he's about to find out what happens when you let a Santos daughter freeze.
