The Alpha's Captive: Bound by Fate, Freed by Love Chapter 1 The Escape

Malia's POV

"You're looking very pretty" he turned to me and fear chills ran up my spine, "What's your name?" He asked. "Malia," I said as I shivered, "I guess you haven't told them why I'm here. Please do" he smiled handing the floor to Maverick.

Maverick stood up, and cleared his throat, "Alpha Rhys here has been very generous to us" he started as we all looked in surprise, "When I was on the ground he helped me bounce back on my feet; he gave me a house, this house" he said referring to our house.

"He funded my firm when I almost went bankrupt"

He is the CEO of Blackwood Capital – A wealth management firm handling elite investments and banking.

"So what more can I do than give my beautiful daughter here to him" he smiled turning to me. That was shocking because I couldn't remember when last he smiled at me. I was shocked, Mom was shocked, we were all shocked.

"You can't do this to my daughter Maverick!" My mom rose, "Well I thought we could do this calmly" Rhys said as he signaled his guards, "You can't do this, I already have a mate!" I yelled.

"I already signed the deal, there's no going back."

"It's my life, my choice, you can't tell me what to do with it, you're not even my father!" my face contorted with distress, my eyes filled with tears.

"She's not going anywhere!" My Mom intervened, and she gripped me tightly. "I wouldn't be so sure," Rhys said ushering his guard to hold her down.

"I'm a man of my word, so when I keep my end of the bargain, I expect mine to be kept," he said as one guard handed him a gun. "This is silver, I guess you all know what it does to the body," he said pointing it at Ethan.

"Don't!" I yelled, "No I'm not gonna harm anyone if you follow me peacefully, but if you don't, I'll make you watch them die one by one," he said with an evil smirk.

I was just fidgeting, hoping Logan was on his way.

"Please let me just get something from my room", I asked. "You don't have to worry about anything, everything will be provided for you." He answered gesturing me to stay put.

"It's just this piece of jewelry my dad gave to me, it's really precious to me," I said, but I had my motives.

"You've got a minute," he said as I hurried straight for my room, I locked the door to make sure no one was able to come in, and then I climbed down from the window.

Outside, I saw some of Rhys's guards but I managed to maneuver past them, as I was moving in the dark hand dragged me into the dark, I wanted to scream but my mouth was covered.

"Shhh, it's me" I heard the voice of Logan and I felt a deep sigh of relief, "What took you so long?" my face dropped with worry, "When I saw those guards outside I knew it was no good, what's going on?" He whispered.

"Kieran warned me" I cried, "I can't believe this is happening." "What's you happening?" He asked with curiosity building up. "That ogre, my step-father, I can't believe he sold me off to that son of a b*tch (Rhys) over some stupid deal I knew nothing about."

He scratched his head, his mouth was set in a tensed, anxious smile, "I'm not gonna let that happen,"

"What do we do?" I asked, my eyes widened, and my eyebrows shot up in terror.

"We run," he said, "My mom is at the Arcane moon pack, that was her pack before she married my dad, we can go stay there till we figure out what to do next."

It occurred to me that my disappearance had already been noticed when a light flashed at us, "Over there!" A guard yelled as they ran towards up.

"Run!" Logan growled, we ran to Logan's bike and rode away but they gave chase with cars, we had a reasonable gap between us but my heart was pounding so fast I was struggling to catch my breath.

"Are you alright?" Logan asked me as we rode away, "I'm scared" I replied, my lips trembled as I thought about what Rhys would do if he managed to catch us.

"We'll get through this, together." He said with assurance in his tone, I just held him tightly as we rode with great speed. "I hope Ethan is okay."

"He'll be fine, he's a strong kid..." he trailed off as the bike came to a stop. "Shit!" He blazed with fury as he hit the bike with his fist. "Quick, to the woods!" He ditched the bike by the road as we ran on foot through the woods.

"We have about 17 miles to go and we've barely made it a mile, so we continue on foot through the woods till morning, then we weigh our options."

My eyes darted widely through the woods sending fear chills down my spine, "Are you okay" Logan asked, and I nodded in a yes. "Good, we've got lots of ground to cover."

Just a few steps into the woods, we heard a growl as a grizzly bear appeared in front of us. It attacked Logan but he ducked the attack as his eyes turned red with fangs and claws coming out, he growled with a strong alpha command voice.

The bear seemed afraid as it stiffened and its eyebrows dropped, it ran off into the woods. I turned to Logan, "They know where we are," he let out a deep sigh, his eyes cast downward.

"How?" my face paled, draining of all color as fear took hold.

"My growl, We must go now, run!" he yelled as we took on our heels, running as fast as we could. I was still confused as I tried to process the situation in my head, not long after, we started hearing voices and shouts behind us. "Find them!" a voice yelled.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
