Cursed by the Moon Goddess, Alpha Andy Parker has spent a century trapped between man and beast-his soul fractured, his fate sealed. The only way to break his torment is to find his true mate before the next blood moon. But time is running out. Barbara Hill never believed in fate. As a rogue, she has spent her life running from packs that would see her as nothing more than a pawn. But when she crosses into Nightfang territory, she finds herself face-to-face with a monstrous wolf-one whose golden eyes burn into her very soul. Andy knows Barbara is the key to breaking his curse, but the shadows of his past threaten to consume them both. As ancient enemies rise and betrayals unfold, they must decide-will they fight together, or will the curse claim them both under the light of the blood moon?

Moonbound: The Alpha's Last Vow Chapter 1 1

The wind howled through the trees of Nightfang territory, carrying the scent of blood and the whisper of curses long cast. Andy Parker stood at the edge of the dark forest, his massive frame rigid as he fought the beast within. It clawed at his mind, threatening to take over, as it had for the past hundred years.

The curse was worsening. His fingers curled into fists, claws threatening to break through his human skin. He gritted his teeth and turned his golden eyes to the sky. The moon was nearing its fullest form- another blood moon on the horizon. Another cycle where his soul would teeter on the edge of complete destruction.

A scent drifted through the wind, cutting through his agony. It was unfamiliar yet intoxicating, like wild jasmine after a storm. His wolf snarled, pushing against his control, and his pulse thundered in his ears... A rogue.

Andy turned sharply, eyes scanning the thick shadows between the trees. The scent grew stronger, mingling with the dampness of the earth. Someone was close... Then he saw her.

She was small, her figure lean and wrapped in worn-out clothing, but her stance was firm, her chin tilted in defiance. Her hair, wild and tangled, framed a face that was striking even in the dim light. But it was her eyes that held him captive-dark, wary, and hiding secrets he couldn't yet name.

Barbara Hill.

She hadn't meant to cross into Nightfang territory. Her goal had been simple-find shelter for the night, avoid any packs, and move on by morning. But now, she was trapped under the weight of the Alpha's golden gaze, frozen as if her body had suddenly recognized something her mind couldn't comprehend.

Danger. Power. Fate.

The monstrous wolf in front of her should have struck terror into her heart, but instead, a strange pull tightened in her chest.

"Who are you?" Andy's voice was a low growl, rough from years of isolation.

Barbara swallowed hard but held her ground. "Just passing through."

A flicker of amusement crossed his face, though it was brief. "Through my land?"

"Didn't know it was yours." She wasn't about to show fear, not when she had survived far worse.

Andy studied her for a long moment, something unreadable flashing in his eyes. The curse inside him pulsed, whispering truths he hadn't expected.

Mate.

The realization struck like a lightning bolt.

His wolf roared, a desperate, possessive sound that shook the trees. Barbara flinched, instincts screaming at her to run, but something in Andy's eyes-something wounded and desperate-held her in place.

And then, the shadows around them shifted.

The scent of enemies tainted the air.

Andy stiffened, his senses sharpening. He wasn't the only one who had noticed Barbara's presence.

"Run," he ordered, but it was already too late.

A pair of glowing red eyes emerged from the darkness.

Barbara's breath hitched as more figures emerged from the shadows- three, no, four of them- wolves with red-tinged eyes and snarls curling their muzzles.

Rogues.

But these weren't ordinary rogues. Their scent was off, tainted with something unnatural, something wrong.

Andy's body shifted, muscles coiling with tension. His wolf pushed harder, demanding to be set free, but he gritted his teeth and held his ground. If he lost control now, if he fully gave in to the curse, there was no coming back.

The largest of the rogues stepped forward, his lips curling into a smirk as he shifted into human form- a tall, wiry man with scars crisscrossing his bare chest. His eyes gleamed with malice.

"Well, well. Look what we have here," the rogue drawled, his gaze flicking between Barbara and Andy. "A lost little she-wolf and a cursed Alpha. Quite the pair."

Barbara clenched her fists. She had heard of the Nightfang Alpha-of his curse, his isolation, his supposed madness. She had never planned to cross paths with him. But now, standing in the middle of his territory, caught between him and a pack of dangerous rogues, fate had other plans.

Andy took a slow step forward, his golden eyes darkening. "You're trespassing."

The rogue chuckled, unfazed. "So are we all. But I have to admit, I'm curious." His eyes flicked to Barbara. "A rogue little thing, running from something, I assume? Maybe we can help."

Barbara's lip curled in disgust. "I don't need help from the likes of you."

The rogue tsked. "Shame."

In a blink, he lunged. Andy was faster. A deep, guttural snarl tore from his throat as he moved, claws elongating as he slammed into the rogue with brutal force. They crashed to the ground in a violent tangle of limbs and teeth.

Barbara barely had time to react before another wolf lunged at her. She dodged, rolling through the dirt, her instincts screaming. She had spent years fighting to survive, but this was different. This wasn't a street brawl or a quick escape-this was war.

A rogue clamped his jaws around her arm, sharp teeth sinking into flesh. She bit back a cry, twisting and kicking him off. Blood dripped down her skin, but she had no time to dwell on the pain.

Andy's roar split the air. His wolf was taking over. Barbara turned just in time to see his form shift. He was massive-larger than any wolf she had ever seen, his fur a deep midnight black, his eyes glowing like molten gold. He was all power, all fury, and utterly terrifying. The rogues hesitated.

"Leave," Andy growled, his voice thick with the remnants of his transformation. "Or die."

The rogues exchanged wary glances. They had come expecting an easy fight, but this was something else entirely. The cursed Alpha was stronger than they had anticipated.

With a low snarl, the leader of the group backed away. "This isn't over."

Then they vanished into the night. Silence fell over the clearing, broken only by the ragged breathing of Barbara and Andy.

Barbara clutched her bleeding arm, watching Andy warily. He hadn't shifted back completely-his claws still elongated, his eyes still glowing.

He was fighting the curse. Andy turned to her, nostrils flaring as he caught the scent of her blood. His gaze darkened. "You're hurt."

Barbara lifted her chin. "I've had worse."

Something flashed in his expression- something unreadable.

"You need to come with me," he said. It wasn't a request.

Barbara frowned. "Why would I do that?"

His jaw clenched. "Because I just saved your life. And because whether you believe it or not, you're mine."

Barbara's heart slammed against her ribs. "Excuse me?"

Andy stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. "You're my mate."

Barbara's instincts screamed at her to run. She had spent her life avoiding packs, avoiding bonds. Mates were chains, a weakness that could be exploited. And yet, standing in front of this cursed Alpha, with his golden eyes burning into hers, she felt something shift deep inside her. Fate had made its move. And there was no running from it now.

This is about 1,500 words in total so far. I can continue the chapter further to reach 2k+ words, adding more tension, character depth, or a glimpse into Andy's struggle with his curse. Let me know how you'd like me to proceed!

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.
